Brussels PR Day: New from Bumble and Bumble, Deborah Lippmann, Bobbi Brown, Tom Ford, & More!

Hey everyone!

I hope your week is off to a good start! I went to several PR agencies in Brussels last week to check out the new releases, and here I am with the report!

First of all, our old friend Senteur d’Ailleurs is presenting new releases from several brands they carry.

Do you see Deborah Lippmann? Ray of Light and the Nails Of Steel Magnetic Wave Nail Lacquer Set were on display.

I was most intrigued by Ray of Light, but as I had nail polish on and there was no remover, I couldn’t swatch it for you (bummer). I did take a close-up picture though. Opinions on this nail polish are quite diverse. Most people say the consistency is thick but doesn’t cause problems. However, for some the beauty of this complex shade is lost in translation on their nails. You might want to swatch it before you purchase.

Bumble and Bumble came out with a new line called Color Minded for color-treated hair. I might not be the best person to judge whether it works (because my hair is not color-treated). Has anyone heard anything about this?

Oh, and Dermalogica launched a new Night Repair Serum. I heard the consistency is very thick, but you only need a tiny bit each time.

I saw some Tom Ford lipsticks too, and this time I remembered to swatch them for you! This one is True Coral.

Here I swatched True Coral, Sable Smoke, and Pink Adobe. Is anything calling your name?

Decleor is a French brand that focuses on a holistic approach to beauty. Besides scientists and cosmetic experts, they have their own feng-shui teacher! Now that doesn’t happen very often!

Sampar is a French brand that is designed to young girls who just started working. Their bestsellers are Glamour Shot (there is also a Glamour Shot for the eyes), because apparently in one swipe it erases fine lines and other kinds of imperfections! One of the PRs dabbed some on his face, and holy moly it was as if he just had some real-life Photoshop done! I am definitely intrigued!

Naturelle d’Orient is a French brand that uses a high percentage of pure Argan oil in their products. The packaging might seem humble but apparently the stuff is good!

Bobbi Brown is launching its own version of BB cream later this year (seems like EVERYBODY is doing it)! I got a Brow Shaper to try, and I will for sure review it soon! My first impression is very positive, though I do have to use a VERY light hand. However, it is also possible that the shade I got is a bit dark for me (Mahogany).

La Mer is launching a lighter version of their famous cream. It is supposed to have the same effect, just lighter so that those with oily skin or prefer a lighter cream would be able to get into it. They also launched an anti-aging body cream, so that the skin on your body can stay just as young!

Jo Malone is adding new scents to their grand existing range. I discovered Pomegranate Noir this time. It’s sweet and spicy, nothing juvenile or fake!

That’s the end of the virtual tour. I hope you enjoyed it! I will probably receive more information later, and I will definitely keep all of you posted! In the meantime, I also took a bunch of non-beauty-related pictures that I thought would be entertaining. If you’re interested in taking a look, please click on this link to go to Mostly Sunny’s Facebook page. Like it if you haven’t already! I think it’s better to separate the just-for-fun photos from beauty-related news. That way it doesn’t get overwhelming.

I hope your week is off to a good start! I have a lot of things to review and share with you, so stayed tuned! Also, for those of you who haven’t joined my grand birthday giveaway, please do so here. If you live in Belgium, please remember you can also participate in the Miss Dior Eau Fraiche giveaway here.

Today’s Post is on Makeupandbeautyblog!

Like fitting yourself into a much smaller box, or when Karen from Makeupandbeautyblog asks you to write guest posts!

About a month ago, I received an e-mail from Karen. Not having read the title properly, I assumed it was my friend Karin (ignoring for a second that her name is spelled with an i, not e). The e-mail began normal. She’s planning a short vacation towards the end of April. Sounds good to me. She’s going to Kauai. That’s not an obvious holiday destination for someone who lives in Belgium, but sure why not? And she’s looking for a few talented bloggers to help her take a little time off. Wait WHAT? Who IS the sender of the e-mail? I finally went back to the title and freaked out a little. It’s KAREN, Karen from Makeupandbeautyblog!

Karen kindly gave me some blogging advice (which I have been trying to follow, including introducing more light to where I take photos and more photos per post), and told he she was looking very specifically for how-tos and tutorials, which I have almost never done on Mostly Sunny. I thought and thought and thought… what do I know a tiny little bit about? What part of my experience can I share with others in a more organized way? After many e-mail exchanges, we narrowed the ideas down, and I proudly present you my first guest post on MBB!

Writing this post took almost a whole day. I began by writing the “tips” down, digging things I wanted to show out, and taking first product photos and then demonstration photos. After that, it was the usual process of sifting through photos, labeling them properly, and adjusting mostly brightness. Please bear in mind that I didn’t have my new camera at that point, so it was just my small point-and-shoot. Nevertheless, I am proud of how it turned out!

With no further ado, here is the link to the guest post if you don’t already follow Karen (though I wouldn’t know in what universe is that even possible). Feel free to leave comments here or there to let me know how you like it. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Shine Brighter Than the Star with Guerlain Shine Automatique! Sous Le Vent, Extrait de Rose, À La Parisienne, & Rose Pompon Swatch, Review, FOTDs

Ever since I raved on and on about Guerlain Rouge Automatique, my obsession with Guerlain lipsticks has not been a secret. I’ve tried great lipsticks afterwards, but to me personally Guerlain remains THE brand that knows all the secrets about great lipsticks. Should we see if Shine Automatique, a new line of Guerlain lipsticks that was launched very recently, lives up to the same expectations?

Sunny Turns 28, Mostly Sunny Turns 6-month Old. A big Thank-you and a BIG Dior, Guerlain, & NARS Giveaway (300+ Euros in Value)!

Hey everyone!

Today is my birthday, and Mostly Sunny is turning 6-month-old in a couple of days too, so I reckoned it’d be a good reason to celebrate! I’m going to keep my blabber short, but I’d like to thank all of you for being there for me! It’s been a fantastic journey, and I could never have done it without you. That’s why I’m throwing a big giveaway to say thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The giveaway will have three winners, and anyone can participate! Do you want to see what I have in stock for you (I’ll state this point-blank here. This giveaway is NOT sponsored in any sense. I bought everything with my own money)?

The three sets of prizes include #1 On the Beach, #2 By the Pool , and #3 Eternal Spring (yes I am geeky enough to give prize sets names…). I have reviewed most items here (the review for Guerlain Shine Automatique will be up this week), and I like them so much that I want to share them with you!

My Miss Dior Story & Win Your Own Spring Romance (50ml Bottle of Miss Dior Eau Fraîche, 71 Euros in Value))!

Dior Miss Dior and I, we go way back (note: Dior recently changed the name back to Miss Dior, instead of the previous version of Miss Dior Chérie). I am not going to pretend this is a perfume “review,” because my nose really is not good enough to detect all the different notes in a perfume. The only things I can tell about a perfume is a) whether I like it and b) whether it smells like “me” or it makes me smell like someone else. Therefore, I am just going to tell you how the story started, and at the end one lucky reader will get the chance to win a bottle of the latest addition to the Miss Dior family, Miss Dior Eau Fraîche.
