Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Acqua Collection Photos & Swatches!

Hey everyone!

A while ago when I reviewed my first Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadows, the news was that a new batch of them was coming out in summer. The Acqua Collection finally hit the stores several days ago, and since I was around a Giorgio Armani counter today, I thought I’d swatch them all for you!

Let me warn you before we continue: these will probably cause significant damage to your wallets (but I guess that won’t stop anyone)!

Here you see 24 Smoky Copper, 25 Carat Gold, and 26 Rusted Gold.

EDIT July 7th: I realized that everywhere else I see, 25 is listed as Rusted Gold and 26 Carat Gold. I am not too sure what happened to the PR information I have access to, so for now let’s fall back on the numbers because that won’t change!

24 Smoky Copper. This looks like a dark bronzy brown that sort of reminds me of Urban Decay Darkhorse, though I know if I get to swatch them side by side I will probably see they are completely different. This will work well for a smokey eye.

25 Carat Gold. It is not really “gold” though. It is more like a mid-to-dark-tone bronze with a lot of shimmer and a very cool khaki sheen.

26 Rusted Gold. This is a golden bronze. I swatched the bronzy shades in the permanent line-up, but they turned out significantly different from this one. Don’t worry about getting something too similar if you own some bronzy Eyes to Kills already.

Here is the swatch of these three:

Now the three lighter shades, including 27 Red Platine, 28 Oxidized Silver, and 29 Rose Titanium.

EDIT 7th July: Again, the PR information I have access to states 27 as Red Platine and 28 as Oxidized Silver. However, everywhere I look it’s actually the other way around (27 Oxidized Silver and 28 Red Platine). It would make a lot more sense that way!

27 Red Platine. It looks like red and steel in pot, but once swatched it’s a reddish plum shade.

28 Oxidized Silver. Really beats me why they call this a silver, because there’s nothing silver about it in pot or swatched! This one is gorgeous in pot with burnished bronzy gold and violet. Once swatche it’s also more bronzy than anything else.

29 Rose Titanium. This looks silvery with a pinkish tint in the swatch picture, but in real life it’s more like a shimmery metallic icy pink. You’d definitely see more pink than you do in the picture, but that’s the best I could get given the light and so on.

Here is the swatch of these three:

Here is all of them together:

All of these are extremely pigmented and smooth. I didn’t have to build any up. It was amazingly easy to work with. Despite the amount of shimmer, nothing felt gritty and I don’t have the impression they would suffer from fallout.

I really like 24 and 25, but thought I shouldn’t be too greedy so I went with 25. I will show you how it look on my lids and so on ASAP! These are limited edition, so if you see something you love don’t sit on the thought for too long :)

Have you got the opportunity to check this collection out? Is anything calling your name? I think it’s fun to see a summer release that doesn’t only have typical summer colors!

  • Teri

Gosh, those are stunning! You are right about the wallet thingie, I can’t contain myself! Love the shades!

    • Sunny

I knew I was right haha. A lot of these shades are insanely complex and even prettier in real life!

  • ~ Claire ~

omg, those golden shades are amazing! which one of those would you call a true gold? really pretty!

    • Sunny

Hey Claire, I don’t think there is a true gold in Eyes to Kill to be honest. They all lean bronzy or antique! If you like gold in general there are enough choices, but true gold you might have to look somewhere else :)

      • ~ Claire ~

too bad :( they are still pretty though. I find it so hard to find a true gold, I guess I have to take a look at some other brands. thank you :)

        • Sunny

Hey Claire, actually it isn’t that hard! Are you specifically looking for a true gold CREAM shadow or just any shadow?

  • BeautyReflections (@BeautyReflectTS)

SUNNY NOOOOoooooo I am going to be broke! 😛

    • Sunny

Haha I reckon I’d drag everybody down with me since I spent a good 40 minutes there trying to decide what to get!

  • Joyce (bronzerbunny)

Oooo! Can’t wait to see them on you! Maybe I’ll have to pick up that silvery-pink shade! Hmm… *runs off to go research shade*

    • Sunny

Just one! I’ll try my best, but with this weather I don’t know when I’ll get to photograph it properly!

      • Joyce (bronzerbunny)

Eek good luck with the weather! Is it cloudy AND hot over there? I ran out to the mall after I read your post lol.

I managed to swatch rose titanium but it was more silvery (like your photos) on me. I always want one of these shadows but they always seem more shimmery than I’d want and I can’t get myself to spend the $… It’s a dilemma lol

        • Sunny

Yup it was really really stuffy eee

I personally wear shimmer pretty well so I don’t mind, but I get what you mean! It’s definitely a glam product that not everyone can wear on a daily basis!

  • Ruby

Thanks for the swatches, they are gorgeous!! I love 25 and 28! Can’t wait to see your FOTD.

  • Brooke

    Need 25 in my life!

    • Sunny

      Yes Brooke you do!!!

  • Esmay

    Red Platine is sooo cool!

  • mjacqueline

Faints! Oh gosh these are so so gorgeous. I want every one of them! :) Thanks so much for the swatches Sunny, I ordered a few just from the product description. Seems like I will be liking all the ones I ordered. Please do a look soon I would love to see 25 on your lids.

    • Sunny

Haha I know! What did you order? Would love to see those on you too! I’ll photograph 25 as soon as I can to show ya!

      • mjacqueline

        25, 26, 27 ad 28! I am a woman with no self-control.

        • Sunny

          LOL that’s a LONG list!

  • Tory

Is 25 a dupe for the ETK 14? I’ve been wanting number 14 forever but it’s impossible to find in the U.S. is it similar?

    • Sunny

Hey Tory! I own 14, and just to make sure I wouldn’t get anything too similar I did swatch 14 next to everything after taking the swatch pictures. Sadly none of these is even close to 14. 25 is a lot darker and definitely not an antique gold. I’m really sorry to hear that you have a hard time finding it, but please check with your friends who live abroad, as this shade is NOT in short supply everywhere!

  • ValleyDoll

Oh my, they are gorgeous ! I want them all asap !

    • Sunny

Haha I understand! I would have taken 4 home if I could 😉

  • naomihing

super gorgeous, too bad there’s no near me here! enjoy

    • Sunny

Aargh no? I sure hope Giorgio Armani will soon expand to your part of the world!

  • Yak Man

pretty! 😀 Only I think they are to expensive for me haha

    • Sunny

True. That’s the only less lovable thing about these.

  • L e n a

    ah stunning stunning!
i was right. i should have never scrolled down this post. the khaki gold looks especially alluring. i want!

    • Sunny

Haha you should see if you can swatch it somewhere, Lena! I do tend to reach for similar shades, but this one is again altogether special!

  • Mariana

I bought 25 today for the exact same reason! :) I’m pretty sure I’ll be heading back for 27, though.

    • Sunny

Haha glad to know I’m not the only one who wants to grab everything that flashes green and khaki!

  • makeuptoys

    Rose Titanium is sooo pretty!

    • Sunny

It is! It’s not a color that I could use all over my lids, but I can see it performing really well on others!

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

oh Sunny they are so lovely. Lucky lucky girl!

  • Christina

I’m totally bummed that you can wear 24, 25, and 26. I’m really fair with an olive yellow complexion and maybe just a bit grey (hehe!), and 24 and 25 just look like a blackish colour on me unless I’m in full sunlight or under low lighting that reflects shimmer well. I love, love, love! the way they look in the pots, on the arm, etc. They just don’t look good with my complexion. Plus, I have a lot of dark shimmery tones for a smoky look, and I rarely wear those, so I’m having a hard time justifying their costs. I’ve actually never worn my eyes to kill as liners. Do you know if they perform well that way?

26 is so pretty, but for some odd reason, it washes me out. It’s neither dark enough to contrast strongly with my skin tone to make a statement, nor is it golden enough to brighten up my face. I am so envious!

    • Sunny

Hey Christina! Aww I’m sure there are ETKs that will work well for your skin tone! I have tried to use mine as liner, and they work well! The MOST foolproof way is to wear your regular liner, and use ETK wet to smudge the line out. That way it really stays put and sparkles like nobody’s business! I hope you’ll give this a try, and I hope Giorgio Armani will bring out some shades that will work for your skin tone soon!

      • Christina

Hi Sunny! Thanks for the tip! Come to think of it, I’ve never used these shadows wet either because I’m afraid of ruining them. I need to get over that fear as I’m sure these will look amazing wet!

The good news is that I did purchase the other three shades as well, and they work beautifully! Really warm golden shades look terrible on me, but I’m always drawn to them! Oh, your swatches make me want to keep them all!

Thanks for your great post! I purchased shade 14 because of you. Haha! And I live in the U.S. Thank goodness my sister was vacationing in Paris at the time! :)

        • Sunny

Hey Christina, I have used them wet several times (in small area though) and they seem fine to me! I’m glad to hear you managed to get 14! Really weird why Armani makes it SO painfully limited in North America! I hope you’ll have a lot of fun with them! xx

  • peggy timmermans visagie

I simply adore Red Platine, I think it’s a very special colout. Wouldn’t suit me unfortunately though :(

    • Sunny

It is a pretty special color! I’m not too sure if it’ll work for me, but rose gold is apparently the hottest metallic shade out there this year!

  • Alison

That is actually the exact colour silver turns when it is oxidized! I have a silver teapot that tarnishes that exact colour: bronzey, with a hint of purple.

I SO wish all of these were permanent. We need more shades in the Eyes to Kill line (because they’re amazing and everyone loves them). Not to mention the fact that I can’t see myself buying these right now, and I’d LOVE to get smoky copper. It looks amazing on Messy Wands/my skin twin. Its the only shade they have made that I think I would wear regularly.

    • Sunny

Hey Alison, haha you’re lucky to have found a skin twin! That way you can easily gauge what will work better for you! I do think Xiao looks fantastic with #15 though, and as far as I know that one is permanent so maybe you can look into that later? xx
