Hey everyone!
A while ago when I reviewed my first Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadows, the news was that a new batch of them was coming out in summer. The Acqua Collection finally hit the stores several days ago, and since I was around a Giorgio Armani counter today, I thought I’d swatch them all for you!
Let me warn you before we continue: these will probably cause significant damage to your wallets (but I guess that won’t stop anyone)!
Here you see 24 Smoky Copper, 25 Carat Gold, and 26 Rusted Gold.
EDIT July 7th: I realized that everywhere else I see, 25 is listed as Rusted Gold and 26 Carat Gold. I am not too sure what happened to the PR information I have access to, so for now let’s fall back on the numbers because that won’t change!
24 Smoky Copper. This looks like a dark bronzy brown that sort of reminds me of Urban Decay Darkhorse, though I know if I get to swatch them side by side I will probably see they are completely different. This will work well for a smokey eye.
25 Carat Gold. It is not really “gold” though. It is more like a mid-to-dark-tone bronze with a lot of shimmer and a very cool khaki sheen.
26 Rusted Gold. This is a golden bronze. I swatched the bronzy shades in the permanent line-up, but they turned out significantly different from this one. Don’t worry about getting something too similar if you own some bronzy Eyes to Kills already.
Here is the swatch of these three:
Now the three lighter shades, including 27 Red Platine, 28 Oxidized Silver, and 29 Rose Titanium.
EDIT 7th July: Again, the PR information I have access to states 27 as Red Platine and 28 as Oxidized Silver. However, everywhere I look it’s actually the other way around (27 Oxidized Silver and 28 Red Platine). It would make a lot more sense that way!
27 Red Platine. It looks like red and steel in pot, but once swatched it’s a reddish plum shade.
28 Oxidized Silver. Really beats me why they call this a silver, because there’s nothing silver about it in pot or swatched! This one is gorgeous in pot with burnished bronzy gold and violet. Once swatche it’s also more bronzy than anything else.
29 Rose Titanium. This looks silvery with a pinkish tint in the swatch picture, but in real life it’s more like a shimmery metallic icy pink. You’d definitely see more pink than you do in the picture, but that’s the best I could get given the light and so on.
Here is the swatch of these three:
Here is all of them together:
All of these are extremely pigmented and smooth. I didn’t have to build any up. It was amazingly easy to work with. Despite the amount of shimmer, nothing felt gritty and I don’t have the impression they would suffer from fallout.
I really like 24 and 25, but thought I shouldn’t be too greedy so I went with 25. I will show you how it look on my lids and so on ASAP! These are limited edition, so if you see something you love don’t sit on the thought for too long
Have you got the opportunity to check this collection out? Is anything calling your name? I think it’s fun to see a summer release that doesn’t only have typical summer colors!
