Hey everyone! A little while back I got the opportunity to follow the Bobbi Brown Secret to Perfect Skin workshop taught by their international makeup artist, Eliano Bou Assi. Besides some new tricks I learnt to achieve flawless skin (the after picture you see above says quite a bit, considering I was actually breaking out a little), I also got to see some pieces of the holiday collection as well as the Creamy Matte Lip Colors! (Have I told you I really love the Bobbi Brown brushes I own? On top of the quality, I like the fact that all the brushes are labeled clearly. Even if you know very little about makeup you won’t feel lost)

Skincare is definitely the biggest secret to perfect skin. Besides having a clean face to begin with, proper moisturization is key to having your foundation properly blended in. Start tapping in that serum and moisturizer, girls (yes, tapping in. Don’t just smearing the product around and calling it a day. If you use a tapping motion, the product sinks in more easily and can fulfill their potential better)! Bobbi Brown says that concealer is the secret to the universe, and I have to say she doesn’t exaggerate! We tried the corrector (light peach is my shade) and concealer duo (natural) before the foundation to cover up our dark circles. It might seem like a lot of work, but it’s really worth it!
Once all that prep work is done, we’re ready to move onto foundation! I think it might be common knowledge to a lot of you, but foundation is really something you have to try on your face to see how it blends in. I’m a warm natural in Bobbi Brown, and I applied the Foundation Stick with a traditional foundation brush. There is no need to use the same amount all over your face, as some parts don’t need that much coverage. Some bronzer and blush later, I was all set (Bobbi Brown would also suggest some mascara, but I went with eye makeup and didn’t have anything on my upper lids removed)! Eliano Bou Assi did some final adjustment of thickening the inner part of my eyeliner with their famous Black Ink (for some reason I had been keeping the inner half of my eyeliner thin, but I could definitely see a difference after he thickened it and have been doing it that way) and choosing Razzberry Creamy Matte Lip Color for me. My initial impression of the formula is fantastic! It was comfortable on and lasted well. I can’t wait for the line to come out so I can get a shade or two to play with! This is part of the Creamy Matte Lip Color range.
For the holiday collection, I can already tell you there is stuff you can really look forward to. Here you’re seeing the Black Pearl Eye Shadow Palette (the cool-toned version of the eyeshadow palette) and the Uber Nude Lip & Eye Palette.

Have you read any Bobbi Brown books or attended any of the workshops? Many of these workshops are free, so it’s worth looking into them! I am a believer of her philosophy, and I like the message of empowerment this brand promotes! PS: Keep an eye out on the review of the Rich Caviar Eye Shadow Palette that you will see here soon (the warm-toned version of the holiday palettes)! I had a REAL moment swatching it! PPS: Look at this cute little guy! He’s the Lonely Makeup Bag, and he’s been touring Belgium looking for friends since late August. Follow his journey here!
