Getting to Know Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire

I’ve had the pleasure of attending some product launches, but a press event with a dress code? This is for sure the first! To celebrate Guerlain’s launch of La Petite Robe Noire, I slipped into one myself and felt ultra chic that day (I probably left a trace of sequin wherever I went but hey, I totally dig this dress)!

Where else is more befitting for such a chic personage than the city of Paris? With the pearls, Eiffel tower, the Rouge G and Noir G, I can certainly imagine a classy lady with a strong personality!

The bottle of La Petite Robe Noire pays homage of the house’s signature heart-shaped bottle that was used as long as a century ago with L’Heure Bleue.

It smells good enough to eat with ingredients such as cherries, licorice, rose, and black tea.

The artists that brought La Petite Robe Noire to life are Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas. You might not recognize their names, but they are the ones who did the illustrations for the beginning of Catch Me If You Can, The Pink Panther, and Le Petit Nicolas (I seriously adore the books by the way).

This is me carefully lifting the bottle so that I wouldn’t break it…

Last but not least, another of my most-anticipated fall collection! I have more reviews to follow, so keep your eyes peeled!

Have you taken a sniff of La Petite Robe Noire? Is it your thing? It is a fragrance that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent, so I guess it’s a love it or hate it kind of scent!

You look very pretty in that dress Sunny! I had a sample of this, but it wasn’t my thing unfortunately. I do love the drawings and design of it though!

Thanks so much Tracy! Too bad it’s not your thing, but it’s true that the art work and so on is beautifully done!

I love the bottle and the advertising, unfortunately I really don’t like the scent. It’s way too sweet for me.

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Oh yeah I can see that. I personally enjoy sweet scents, and I like the “smokey” quality about this one so it doesn’t become nauseating.

  • http://leisurelysensitive.blogspot.nl Yak Man

wow, that is a big bottle!

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Haha I know! I was SO scared I’d drop it!

i haven’t tested this new scent but it is on my “to-smell” list for sure.
your “la petite robe noire” is gorgeous and you look beautiful wearing it! :)

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Haha Lena make sure you smell it when you get the chance. It’s very different on my skin though, so maybe you’ll even want to try it on!

  • http://www.nymphette.be marijke

Nice pictures!! I’m curious for the scent!

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Hey Marijke, you should take a sniff or even try it on! When I sniffed it for the first couple of times I wasn’t impressed, but I was given this little scarf with the perfume on, and I realized after a while it becomes less loud and entirely pleasant!

Hey Sunny! It looks like such a fun event! :D I see the difference between the La Petite Robe Noire scent in yours and in mine now – the dress! :D The one we get here is a sleeveless black dress with a bow belt and the bottle is clear all way through while yours has a dress with sleeves and a gradient bottle deeper colours at the bottom :)

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

OOO true! The EDT is coming out here next year. Can’t wait to see how the two are different!

  • http://bronzerbunny.com Joyce (bronzerbunny)

I love all the art and the overall design! Forgot to sniff this last weekend though! If it is too sweet it probably isn’t for me though. Oh well!

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Haha you should take a sniff in any case! I am a fan of sweet scents, but they have to be done right!

  • http://www.cuteandmundane.com Dovey

Hi Sunny, I love your sequin dress. All the event displays look so gorgeous. It makes me wish I could have been there too!

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Thanks so much Dovey! It’s true that they did a great visual representation of the perfume!

  • http://keepingupwiththekelly.wordpress.com keepingupwiththekelly

La Petite Robe Noire is definitely my thing, I work at a department store and I often spray a bit of this on right before the store opens. It’s a very sweet and cheerful scent and that’s right up my alley.

    • http://mostlysunnybunny.wordpress.com Sunny

Glad to hear you like it too, Kelly! This is a scent that wasn’t too sure about on paper, but the first time I tried it on I fell in love!
