Hey everyone!
TGIF! I hope all of you pulled through the week unscratched, and are happily waiting for your work day to end! Today we’re going to look at some of the last things from the autumn releases I have to show you, Givenchy Acoustic Purple Vernis Please! and Lively Pink Le Gloss Revelateur de Liv.
The Lively Pink Le Gloss Revelateur de Liv was something conceived by the brand’s muse, Liv Tyler. She wanted something that will naturally enhance the beauty of each individual, even when they have different skin tones. The gloss is supposed to adapt to the pH level of your lips and become a customized shade for everyone!
As you can see, it looks entirely transparent in the tube. The applicator is a little brush. The first time you use it it might feel a bit “glued together,” but it will soon soften down. I was told actually all Givenchy glosses have a pink brush, it’s just that it is normally covered by gloss and we can’t tell!
The gloss has a smooth and buttery texture. It smells sweet and fruity, and the scent does linger for a while. Ever the skeptic, I wasn’t sure how the gloss would work, but after I put it on it did give my lips a nice pink tint! My lips are very pigmented, so most “tinted lip balms” get lost on me, but with this one the difference is obvious. The funny thing is if you wipe it off with a tissue, you will see some pink but if you drink, the transfer looks transparent again. Not that I know anything about the science, but it’s pretty fascinating!
You see a bit of pink in the swatch photo, but on my lips the color is quite another bit pinker.
The gloss itself stays about 2 hours and a half on me, but the color lingers for another bit longer. It is hydrating and comfortable to wear. If you have pigmented lips and can’t find a tinted lip balm that will make a difference, consider this one!
The Acoustic Purple Vernis Please! is another blurple for the season. It is a bit bluer than Estee Lauder Bête Noire, and still I have no dupe in my collection.
There is a lot of fine shimmer in it (violet, pink, blue…), which makes the shade interesting. The consistency is a bit thicker and gel-like, and one coat is already very opaque (I still did two for good measure)! I also like the short brush, because it makes application easier.
This is how it looks on my nails:
I actually wore it to the ICI PARIS XL press day a while ago, so there are two more pictures (in which my hand is holding adorable Tweezerman tweezers) of my hand wearing Acoustic Purple here and here (also, have you LIKED my Facebook page yet?).
What are some of the last-minute autumn collection splurges you made? Would you be interested in a gloss that adapts to the pH level of your lips or a blurple nail polish?
Sunny, your beauty culture translator xx
