Givenchy Acoustic Colors: Acoustic Purple Vernis Please! & Lively Pink Le Gloss Revelateur de Liv

Hey everyone!

TGIF! I hope all of you pulled through the week unscratched, and are happily waiting for your work day to end! Today we’re going to look at some of the last things from the autumn releases I have to show you, Givenchy Acoustic Purple Vernis Please! and Lively Pink Le Gloss Revelateur de Liv.

The Lively Pink Le Gloss Revelateur de Liv was something conceived by the brand’s muse, Liv Tyler. She wanted something that will naturally enhance the beauty of each individual, even when they have different skin tones. The gloss is supposed to adapt to the pH level of your lips and become a customized shade for everyone!

As you can see, it looks entirely transparent in the tube. The applicator is a little brush. The first time you use it it might feel a bit “glued together,” but it will soon soften down. I was told actually all Givenchy glosses have a pink brush, it’s just that it is normally covered by gloss and we can’t tell!

The gloss has a smooth and buttery texture. It smells sweet and fruity, and the scent does linger for a while. Ever the skeptic, I wasn’t sure how the gloss would work, but after I put it on it did give my lips a nice pink tint! My lips are very pigmented, so most “tinted lip balms” get lost on me, but with this one the difference is obvious. The funny thing is if you wipe it off with a tissue, you will see some pink but if you drink, the transfer looks transparent again. Not that I know anything about the science, but it’s pretty fascinating!

You see a bit of pink in the swatch photo, but on my lips the color is quite another bit pinker.

The gloss itself stays about 2 hours and a half on me, but the color lingers for another bit longer. It is hydrating and comfortable to wear. If you have pigmented lips and can’t find a tinted lip balm that will make a difference, consider this one!

The Acoustic Purple Vernis Please! is another blurple for the season. It is a bit bluer than Estee Lauder Bête Noire, and still I have no dupe in my collection.

There is a lot of fine shimmer in it (violet, pink, blue…), which makes the shade interesting. The consistency is a bit thicker and gel-like, and one coat is already very opaque (I still did two for good measure)! I also like the short brush, because it makes application easier.

This is how it looks on my nails:

I actually wore it to the ICI PARIS XL press day a while ago, so there are two more pictures (in which my hand is holding adorable Tweezerman tweezers) of my hand wearing Acoustic Purple here and here (also, have you LIKED my Facebook page yet?).

What are some of the last-minute autumn collection splurges you made? Would you be interested in a gloss that adapts to the pH level of your lips or a blurple nail polish?

I love burple nail polishes, they lok fab on nails but I’m not into glosses that much especially very sheer ones. My majoy splurges have been from the Burberry line, I cannot wait to get y hands on their new velvet lipsticks.

    • Sunny

I’m not really a gloss girl either, but I’d use this one like a tinted lip balm! I’d LOVE to try something from Burberry ASAP too!

  • BeautyReflections (@BeautyReflectTS)

Eeeeep! They both look lovely! Sigh, I love Guerlain!

I think Tracy meant Givenchy :)

  • redhotjillypeppers

I really love the look of the gloss !

    • Sunny

Thanks Jill! It’s a nice watermelon/strawberry pink on me, and I’d love to see it on you!

  • Beauty by Linde

I love that nail polish! Purple is my absolute obsession this fall season :)

    • Sunny

      Go team blurple!

  • Peggy Timmermans Visagie

I still have to try the gloss, good of you to post it! It looks really good!

    • Sunny

It’s fun, Peggy! Give it a go!

I’ve been curious about that gloss for a while but I’m still not sure…I just might get something like the Dior Addict Lip Glos balm instead since I prefer the texture. Oh, and that polish is GORGEOUS! Loving the blurples!!!

    • Sunny

OOO keep me posted about how you like the Dior Addict one! I’ve been really curious about it but haven’t picked it up!

  • Teri

I never got into the whole lip changing thing for some reason, but it’s a cute idea! And it’s cool that it’s in a lipgloss version! The np is super pretty, I mean it’s a blurple, what more do I want :p.

    • Sunny

I know what you mean! I was very skeptical too. It has a lipstick counterpart as well, and it is supposed to do the same thing minus the shine.

  • Memoiselle

I’ve never tried any Givenchy products and really want to try their blushes and highlighter! Shimmering Blue nail polish is not my favorite color but the lip gloss looks drooling! I love neutral color on my lips plus that tiny little glitters, so pretty! 😀

    • Sunny

Oh then look into this one! I get such a kick out of seeing it on other people :)

  • lippylash

    Love the nails!!

    • Sunny

Thanks Natasha! Blurple is really everywhere this season (and lucky for me I like it)!

  • L e n a

i really like the “customized” lipgloss color on you. i see it is a pink with warmer undertone. so very you!
(i imagine this would turn to fuchsia on me. lol)

    • Sunny

Thanks so much Lena! It’s a bit of a watermelon pink on me! You should definitely try it when you have the chance though. If it really adjusts to each individual, it should just be a natural color on you too!

  • Joyce (bronzerbunny)

Oh, that gloss seems really interesting! I like the pink applicator (who knew!) and that it doesn’t leave color on cups and stuff! (I hate that and that’s probably why I don’t use lip stuff often – I usually wipe the color off of cups! Lol) I was looking at the liv lipstick too but haven’t seen it in person anywhere… Have you seen/tried that one?

    • Sunny

Haha I do that too sometimes! I think the residue on my mugs is my least favorite part about testing lip products out!

I’ve seen the Liv lipstick, and I think it essentially works in the same way. It probably comes down to weather you like the shine the gloss offers or not :)

      • Joyce (bronzerbunny)

Hmm! I’ll have to find them both and compare! :) Thanks!

I have been searching for this gloss for six months now and it is no where to be found. has it been discontinued? any idea where I might be able to purchase it? I am allergic to the color dye in lipstick and glosses so I thought this would be perfect…alas, I cannot find it.
