Hey everyone!
When I swatched and reviewed Le Métier de Beauté Bauhaus Eye Kaleidoscope yesterday, I promised to try layering the shades and tell you what I think. Voilà, here comes the look!
I didn’t literally follow the Couches de Coleurs technique, as I wanted to show you how each “layer” looks as well.
I started out by lining my waterline and lash line thickly with Tarte Onyx, smudging it out with the sponge end. I then patted Axiom all over my lids, Graphic a little lower than Axiom, a thin strip of Crucible, and a tiny bit of Genre along my lash line and into the outer v. I also went over my lower lash line with Axiom, and highlighted my inner corners with Graphic. I patted some gel liner into the roots of my upper lashes without really “lining” my eyes. Even though you don’t really see a line, it gives more definition and intensity.
I used Le Métier de Beauté Tenné Créme Fresh Tint on my cheeks and lips, and patted a bit of Guerlain Altoum Shine Automatique in the middle of my lips.
I adore Bauhaus because it makes wearing colors I wouldn’t normally reach for entirely possible (I mean, a bluish silver and a pomegranate? Really?). I really like the purplish color I get when I layer Axiom, Graphic, and Crucible together. Next time I might do just that all over my lids and use Genre close to my lash line and into the outer v! Another observation I made in the process is that even though the colors don’t seem like they naturally go together, for some reason the icy bluish silver of Graphic looks quite reasonable in my inner corners next to a rather warm mixture of shades. It’s fascinating!
I have no issue with fallout or wear with Bauhaus, which can be quite reasonably expected from Le Métier de Beauté eyeshadows.
Bottom line: Le Métier de Beauté Bauhaus Eye Kaleidoscope packs four high-quality shades that don’t seem to work together easily, but they really do. There are many ways to play with and layer the colors. I think everyone will be able to make the kit work beautifully regardless of skin tone!
What do you say? Are you in for a bit of Le Métier de Beauté layering fun?
Sunny, your beauty culture translator xx
