Got a Case of Holiday Nerves? NEOM Relax Candle is Here to Help!

Despite the fact that I am not very patient by nature, in general I am not too ill-tempered. Like my mother (and her mother) however, I often get holiday nerves. I won’t go into detail lest you get so scared that you never come back, but let’s just say I’ve been breathing fire for the past couple of days.

Something that I do find very helpful is a good scented candle in the evening (I’m defining “evening” very broadly here. Since it gets dark at 4:30PM, I’ve taken quite a bit of liberty in lighting the candle pretty much whenever I want to), like this NEOM Relax Candle.

Long story short, NEOM Organics is a British brand that is dedicated to creating a luxuriously organic environment in the house. Their candles are made with vegetable wax and essential oils. I used this baby up just last night, and I can testify how incredibly clean it burned: all the way till the end it never ever produced any black smoke, and the flame was always very steady.

Relax contains some of my absolute favorite scents, including lavender, geranium, and juniper. The concoction is very soothing, and the fragrance fills the air in the least aggressive way (you won’t walk into a room and feel your nose has been assaulted by the scent, if you know what I mean). It is supposed to help people sleep better, though I wouldn’t be the best judge for that (I’m going to knock on wood, but I usually sleep really well). It does, however, calm me down even during such a stressful and busy period!

Besides trimming the wick after each use, NEOM also suggests lighting the candle for two to four hours each time to help it burn evenly. The travel-size candles weigh 75 grams and should burn for 20 hours while their signature 3-wick home candles weigh 300 grams and burn for 50.

My experience with NEOM Relax is so positively that I am already actively looking for my next NEOM candle. I know I definitely want a 3-wick Relax (you never know, holiday nerves could last for quite a while), and maybe another travel-size one. Now should I go for the rosy Complete Bliss, the vanilla & sandalwood Serenity, or the jasmine, ginger, & sandalwood Restore? Decisions decisions…

Anyways, best of luck with your Christmas shopping and I hope you’re calmer and more ready than I am!

I love lavender ! It’s such a great scent to help you relax.

    • Sunny

      Yay fellow lavender fan!

Hmmm, I love lavender as well, so I might like this one.

    • Sunny

Yeah if you like lavender this one is a safe bet! I think out of the three I get the least juniper. Geranium is also pretty prominent as well.

    I could use one ;)

    • Sunny

LOL holiday nerves for you too? We’re almost there!

  • http://www.lenallure.com L e n a

yeah..i could use some of this, too. lol
good lavender scent is harder to come by than you’d think. this sounds very nice!

    • Sunny

Yup this one is fantastic! I have always loved lavender so that makes me hard to please, but this one is heavenly!

Oeh another lavender one.. after the Abahna sleep one, I could use another lavender based candle. It fills the entire room with it’s scent, unlike some cheaper candles from a certain store.
    How strong is this scent?

    • Sunny

It fills the room in a quiet way. When you walk in the room you won’t smell it like “bang,” but it is there all right. Loud and clear :)

Oooh sounds lovely. Serenity sounds good, too! I love ANYTHING with jasmine in it! :P And don’t you worry, Sunny–nothing to be ashamed of. I think EVERYONE goes a bit nutty during the holidays and with my already-short-fuse, I think I may be a bit more cuckoo than most :P

    • Sunny

LOL you’re hilarious, Becca! Now that my Christmas shopping is done I’m actually gradually coming back to normal. SO glad I don’t have to cook or invite people over for Christmas. That’s SO much work!

An organic candle sounds wonderful. I bet it smells lovely.

    • Sunny

It DOES, Marla! I wasn’t a big candle person (coming from a subtropical country it just didn’t seem to have the same appeal), but after I discovered how great some of them can smell, I’m hooked!

Wish I had this during my family party yesterday to fend off all of the “What’ve you been doing the last year?” interrogations. :/ I love candles, especially Voluspa.

    • Sunny

Aww that must have been awkward. Yuck!

I’d love to lay my hands on some Voluspa. I’ve heard great things about the brand, but it’s a little hard to get here.

      • http://myfashiontrendencies.blogspot.com Chris El

I have a fair stock of these on hand. ;) The smell fills my room instantly! It’s such a mood changer. I’m with you on getting things abroad. There are some Boots No. 7 items that I’d like to have, but supply here is limited.

I love lavender! Sounds really nice! This would be great to burn while having my nightly chamomile tea!

    • Sunny

Oh it totally would be! I always have a Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea before going to bed. I sleep well anyways, but it feels like extra insurance :)

  • http://myhighestselfblog.com/ Tina @ My Highest Self

Oh I would never guess that you would breathe fire, you look so sweet :). Loving the sound of this candle, I also hate to be assaulted with fragrance, ha!

    • Sunny

Haha well if you live with me you’ll know I can rise to the occasion and breathe fire :p

You should really look into NEOM! I dislike scents that are too artificial-smelling, so essential oils are my thing!

This is right up my alley! I’m a big believer in aromatherapy and especially love the benefits of lavender. This is going on the Wishlist! Thank you for sharing :-)

    • Sunny

I’ve been all about scented candles lately.. Can’t seem to chill in the couch without lighting at least two of them!

This one and the brand sounds interesting. Where do you buy these?

    • Sunny

LOL I’m not greedy so I light one at a time :)

I’m DM’ing you with the options!
