Hey everyone!
As you might already know, there’s a new band of beauty bloggers on the block called Femme Boulevard (the members include Teri, Lily, and Joey). I haven’t run away with the circus, but for December they exceptionally decided to collaborate with non-members for the New Year’s Eve look. The theme is metallic lids and bold lips. While I wear both separately with ease, I have never combined them previously so let’s take a look to see how it turned out!
I started out with the eyes since I knew there would be a bit of fallout. I laid Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill #25 all over my lids before busting the Bobbi Brown Rich Caviar palette out. I used Bone to highlight my brow bones and Candlelight in the inner corners. I patted some Olive Sparkle in the center of my lids, and blended Black Topaz in the outer corners. I lined my eyes with Bobbi Brown Black Ink and went over the lower lash line with Rich Caviar. Some lash primer and mascara (Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara) later the eyes were done!
Since the look was going to be heavy, I needed my skin to look its best. I started out with Becca Resurfacing Primer(still testing it out. I’ll review it as soon as I can form an opinion), and did a careful layer of Guerlain Parure de Lumière. Some concealer later, I set everything in place with Guerlain Perles du Dragon Météorites. I opted for Chanel Rose Initiale on my cheeks (it’s my go-to when I want to do a red lip), contoured with Chanel Notorious, and highlighted with Diorskin Nude Shimmer Instant Illuminating Powder.
For my lips, I applied the first layer of Dior Diorling Diorific Lipstick carefully with a lip brush. After I perfected the shape and edges, I dabbed on a second layer to give it some more oomph. I also patted some Guerlain Altoum Shine Automatique on the center of my lips for some extra poutiness!
I’m a total dummy in the nail art department, so I always cheat by finding interesting stuff to wear. This time, it’s ncLA I am your Muse Nail Wraps. It has black lacy design and a red base. What’s more, the shimmer in the red base comes to life with some top coat on. Dr. D usually couldn’t care less about my makeup experiments, but he came into the room halfway through my nail wrap application and asked:” What’s that?” “They’re nail wraps, like stickers for your nails.” “They’re really nice! You should wear them on New Year’s Eve!”
I guess that says a lot about how cool these are!
I wish you an early happy new year, everyone! 2012 has been good to me, and it wouldn’t have been the same without you! Thank you SO much for reading, commenting, and for simply being there! I hope I bring you as much joy as you do for me, and we’ll continue to have fun together in 2013!
What are your plans for the New Years Eve, or more importantly, what do you plan to WEAR? Do you ever combine heavy eyes and bold lips? Have you tried nail wraps?

PPS: You can find ncLA on Zuneta. The nail wraps cost around 16 euros (Zuneta bills in GBP, so it will depend on the conversion rate). There are 22 wraps and a nail file in the package. I’ll have to play with mine one more time before I can tell you about all the details, so it will be for another post.
