Long-time readers might know that I don’t instinctively reach for pink blushes. For one reason or another, coral, peach, and brownish rose find their way into my stash more easily than the classic pink. I have come to realize pink blushes could be really awesome, but Dior Diorblush Pink Happiness is the first pink blush that had me at hello!
The packaging of Pink Happiness (or Rose Bonheur in French) is no different from regular Diorblushes, but the houndstooth pattern ties it in with the Chérie Bow theme. While regular Dior powders are unscented, this one is has a light rose fragrance. I usually don’t care for scent in my makeup, but the first time I smelled the rose while applying this blush I was instantly smitten!
Like other Diorblushes, Pink Happiness contains a matte shade and a shimmery one. The matte side is a medium warm pink, and the shimmery side is a shimmery peachy pink. When used together, they give cheeks a natural warm pink flush that is very pretty and girly, but in an unpretentious manner. Good news for those who love the houndstooth pattern: it doesn’t wear off too fast. I have swatched it with force and used it multiple times. While the pattern has somehow worn off, it is definitely not gone.
Here is how it swatches. From bottom to top: matte shade, shimmery shade, two shades blended together:
Pink Happiness is pressed a bit more firmly than the other Diorblushes I have swatched, but I have no problem using it at all. It goes on rather pigmented so it doesn’t take a lot of building up to achieve the color that I want, and it is blended out easily. Like all good blushes, Pink Happiness doesn’t sit on top of the skin. Instead, it looks like a very natural flush. What impresses me the most about Pink Happiness is how well it wears. It’s a marathon-runner that stays vibrant and true till the end of the day!
I have worn Dior Pink Happiness in many recent FOTDs, including:
Bottom line: I don’t want to sound corny, but Diorblush Pink Happiness is a blush that reminds me of falling in love in spring! The rosy scent, fresh pop of warm pink, easy blendability, and above all excellent lasting power is what makes this very possibly my favorite part about Dior Chérie Bow! Pink Happiness has a coral sister, Tender Coral. I can’t wait to get my swatchy fingers on it!
Do you have a favorite warm pink blush? What do you think about Diorblush Pink Happiness? Are you itching to see it in person?
