Pink IS Happiness: Dior Diorblush Rose Bonheur/Pink Happiness Swatch & Review

Long-time readers might know that I don’t instinctively reach for pink blushes. For one reason or another, coral, peach, and brownish rose find their way into my stash more easily than the classic pink. I have come to realize pink blushes could be really awesome, but Dior Diorblush Pink Happiness is the first pink blush that had me at hello!

The packaging of Pink Happiness (or Rose Bonheur in French) is no different from regular Diorblushes, but the houndstooth pattern ties it in with the Chérie Bow theme. While regular Dior powders are unscented, this one is has a light rose fragrance. I usually don’t care for scent in my makeup, but the first time I smelled the rose while applying this blush I was instantly smitten!

Like other Diorblushes, Pink Happiness contains a matte shade and a shimmery one. The matte side is a medium warm pink, and the shimmery side is a shimmery peachy pink. When used together, they give cheeks a natural warm pink flush that is very pretty and girly, but in an unpretentious manner. Good news for those who love the houndstooth pattern: it doesn’t wear off too fast. I have swatched it with force and used it multiple times. While the pattern has somehow worn off, it is definitely not gone.

Here is how it swatches. From bottom to top: matte shade, shimmery shade, two shades blended together:

Pink Happiness is pressed a bit more firmly than the other Diorblushes I have swatched, but I have no problem using it at all. It goes on rather pigmented so it doesn’t take a lot of building up to achieve the color that I want, and it is blended out easily. Like all good blushes, Pink Happiness doesn’t sit on top of the skin. Instead, it looks like a very natural flush. What impresses me the most about Pink Happiness is how well it wears. It’s a marathon-runner that stays vibrant and true till the end of the day!

I have worn Dior Pink Happiness in many recent FOTDs, including:

Bottom line: I don’t want to sound corny, but Diorblush Pink Happiness is a blush that reminds me of falling in love in spring! The rosy scent, fresh pop of warm pink, easy blendability, and above all excellent lasting power is what makes this very possibly my favorite part about Dior Chérie Bow! Pink Happiness has a coral sister, Tender Coral. I can’t wait to get my swatchy fingers on it!

Do you have a favorite warm pink blush? What do you think about Diorblush Pink Happiness? Are you itching to see it in person?

NOOOOO PINK. Hahahaha. I actually have one or two pink blushes, but they are not my favorite. They can be brightening, though!

    • Sunny

LOL yeah I was surprised I like this one so much, but that doesn’t mean I’ll start wearing pink all the time!

  • http://www.nymphette.be Marijke

That blush is beautiful! It looks similar to my Suqqu blush but I will take a look at the Dior one nevertheless. I really like how it looks on your skintone :D

    • Sunny

Ahhh Suqqu! That’s a brand I’d LOVE to explore! Do take a look at Pink Happiness/Tender Coral. I really like how well it lasts, and the texture/pigmentation are good!

    • Sunny

Thanks Lyn! Pink Happiness lasts longer on me than the other Diorblushes I have tried, so it gets brownie point for that!

You look like sunshine! I always opt for brown, peach and coral too and was surprised by how pretty pink actually is. Love this color on you!

    • Sunny

Thanks Taylor! I don’t think I’ll start collecting pink blushes, but I do really enjoy the ones I have!

  • http://memoiselle.com Meryl @ Memoiselle

    Oh my..
I’m a sucker for pink blushes and I am so tempted to get this one. It’s so pretty and it looks different from Dior Rosy Glow from Spring 2012 collection.

    • Sunny

Hey Meryl, they are very indeed! I don’t own Rosy Glow but I have swatched it (it’s coming back by the way). Rosy Glow is more like a cool-toned pink while this is a warmer one. Still it’s very fresh-looking!

I’m loving bright pink blushes lately and this baby looks stunning. I also love Dior includes both shimmer and matte finishes, making their blushes more versatile. It looks beautiful on you Sunny!

    • Sunny

Hey Joanne, if pink is your thing then definitely take a look at Pink Happiness! I really like how well it stays! While many blushes have excellent textures, not all of them last this well on me!
