All lipstick lovers have probably been gazing longingly at the promo images of Givenchy Le Rouge for a while now. First of all, the leather packaging is super sexy (it’s real too!). Doesn’t that remind you of a spy movie? The finish is supposed to be matte, and let’s just say for the moment I am all about creamy matte lipsticks. Well guess what? I got to see the whole range in person today and of course I had to swatch like a manic for you!
The packaging of Le Rouge is quite large and hefty. Here you can see how it sits in my palm:
It has that satisfying click you would expect from a luxury lipstick, and the whole thing is amazing to behold!
Now onto the swatches! First up we have Les Naturels, including 101 Beige Mousseline, 102 Beige Plume, and 103 Brun Créateur.
Then we have Les Roses, including 201 Rose Taffetas, 202 Rose Dressing, and 204 Rose Boudoir.
205 Fuchsia Irrésistible is still part of Les Roses, but 301 Magnolia Organza and 302 Hibiscus Exclusif belong to Les Créations.
Last but not least, we have 305 Rouge Egérie, 306 Carmin Escarpin, and 307 Grenat Initié.
My quick observation is that each one of these is incredibly pigmented, creamy, and smooth (most of the swatches were done with one swipe). It has quite a bit of slip so it glides on easily, but I will have to test it out to find out if it will slide around or not. For the moment I am a bit worried the formula will work well for me, because in that case I’ll want to snatch up just about the whole range! Also, these have a much lighter scent than Givenchy Rouge Intérdit, which wins it bonus point in my book!
What do you think? Is any of these calling your name?
