Pretty much as soon as I saw the promo images of Chanel Printemps Précieux de Chanel, I knew the star of the show, Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder (RRP in Belgium: 55 euros), would sell like hotcakes. After playing with it for a while, I am pretty sure I was right!
Chanel Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder comes in a slightly different black velvet pouch.
Once you open the pouch, you get the compact itself as well as a sponge applicator. The applicator isn’t a bad option if you haven’t found your favorite highlighter brush yet. A light dab into the pan and you are ready to swipe it on!
Chanel Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder contains 8 grams (0.28 oz) of product, and it is a slightly rosy beige color. Once on I don’t really see any color, and it does not turn ashy on me. The pattern is absolutely worship-worthy with the double C logos, roses, and lipsticks. I took a whole bunch of pictures before I finally braved myself to swatch it!
Absolutely no regret there, people! If you see this highlighter around, please promise me you will at least swatch it. Even with all the great powder products I own, Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder seems to be in its own league. It is finely-milled with no trace of powderiness, creamy without tackiness, and the powder feels so incredibly lightweight!
What’s more, Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder is definitely on the subtle side of powder highlighters. I normally never use “shimmery” shades under my brow bones because I don’t want to risk having it reflect too much at certain angles. With Chanel Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder however, I have found that I can make an exception. It does not sink into pores, does not make the skin appear greasy or sweaty, and it makes all the highlighted parts stand out in a really beautiful way. Even up close you don’t see the powder or even the “shimmer” it contains. In other words, it does what a highlighter is supposed to do: once it’s on, you see the light but not the product itself.
Here are some photos of me wearing the highlighter on the top of my cheekbones, in the center of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, and on my Cupid’s bow:

Bottom line: Adorable pattern aside, Chanel Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder is an excellent highlighter. I like my highlighter on the subtle side, and this one successfully brings light to the right parts without any drawbacks. The texture is amazing, and the quality is definitely there! I might not have seen enough highlighters, but I am slightly worried it will bring out the highlighter hoarder in me!
Have you seen Printemps Précieux de Chanel (it has been available in Belgium since yesterday)? Did you give this baby a swatch? What is your favorite highlighter? If you are a highlighter hoarder, is this similar to anything in your stash?
