Remington Keratin Therapy

I am a bit ashamed to admit that all the way till very recently, I paid no attention to the hair dryer that I use. I probably didn’t pick the cheapest one around, but I certainly could not understand why there could be such a big price difference between different models. A while ago I got to try out the new Remington Keratin Therapy Flat Iron. While I don’t straighten my hair, I thought I could learn to curl it with a flat iron (all the tutorials make it seem so easy)! Unfortunately I have not mastered the trick, but since my old hair dryer was on its way out, I decided to buy Remington Keratin Therapy Hair Dryer to see if this fancy keratin therapy thing works!

The lesson I learnt? There IS a reason why some hairdryers cost more than 20 euros! Remington Keratin Therapy Hair Dryer is rather hefty and sturdy. The ring you see there is the keratin-infused nozzle that is supposed to transfer keratin to your hair during the styling process. As a result, the hair will be sleek and strong. The dryer comes with two concentrators and a diffuser. I don’t really use concentrators, but a diffuser is the minimal requirement for my post-perm hair, and I am happy it’s included!

See all the fancy buttons? There are three heat settings and two speed settings as well as the option of cold air. I can’t really tell if the keratin therapy really works this way, but I can vouch that hair-drying has become a lot faster and safer with this one. My cheaper old one overheated sometimes, so my hair would actually burn my ears. Even with the amount and length of hair I have, nowadays it takes less time for it to dry, and there has been no overheating incident at all! What’s more, my hair is indeed less rough and brittle afterwards. I think the fact that I get to control the heat and speed really contributes to it! All in all I have been very pleased with my purchase, and I hope it will hang in there for a couple of years!

The Remington Keratin Therapy Flat Iron is again very sleek and well-made. It comes with a pouch, so it will be easy if you want to travel with it.

It also comes with many different temperature settings, so it’s not just an on-and-off kind of flat iron.

Remington flat iron review

As I have admitted, I still haven’t mastered the trick of curling my hair with a flat iron (how come it looks so easy from the tutorials?). However, the couple of times I tried, I was impressed with how fast this heats up. If you need a quick styling session in the morning, this is a good option.

Also, look at this travel pouch! I am compulsively neat, so I really appreciate how everything has its place in this pouch (there is even a strap for the cord)!

Bottom line: I don’t know if it’s the keratin therapy or something else, but Remington Keratin Therapy Hair Dryer has been very kind to my mane. Hair-drying is now much faster and safer, and my hair is a lot less brittle and rough after it’s done. It seems really sturdy, so I hope it will hang in there for a couple of years. From now on, I will never buy a random hairdryer again! While I haven’t been able to really test out Remington Keratin Therapy Flat Iron, it is well-made and heats up fast. If it’s anything like its hair dryer counterpart, it would definitely be an above-average flat iron as well!

Do you pay attention to the hair dryer/flat iron you buy, or do you use pretty much whatever you can find (I think the real question here is how many people would actually stick to a hairdryer till it’s on its last leg even though it overheats their hair and burns their ears)?

I invested in a good quality flat iron and dryer and I really notice a difference. The hair dryer sounds great !

    • Sunny

Yup it is! It gets my hair dry so much faster, and not in a rough way either!

    I looove the flat iron!!

    • Sunny

Good to know! I hope I’ll learn to curl my hair with it soon ;)

Ahhhh I want that hair dryer! I still have an ‘old’ one and I suspect it to dry out my hair even though I apply product generously as I should. I use a GHD iron & I really love it. It was super expensive too, but I didn’t mind paying the price as it’s supposedly the best one there is. You should look up some curling tutorials on YouTube, they really helped me. The BEST curls though are made with your blow dryer and a round brush. Even though it’s quite exhausting ;)

    • Sunny

Seriously I wish I were half as clumsy as I really am, because I am SO clueless about hair styling! Think about investing in a good dryer because I really think my previous one killed my hair a little!

    I do need a new hair dryer…
The one I have is a OLD remington and I think it’s holding on for dear life. Haha!

    • Sunny

Haha yeah my old one started to have its “I don’t want to work” moments. That’s why I finally made up my mind to get a new one!

Ok to be honest, I never EVER style my hair. I am just useless with hair! I’ve tried but I am just hopeless with a curling iron, hot rollers, and hair dryers. The flat iron is the only thing I can use but I don’t like to because I’ve found that it deflates any kind of volume (which is close to none) that I may already have. I really do want to learn though. I think part of the reason why I suck is because my tools suck–I REALLY need a new hairdryer. Because I never use it, mine is pretty ancient but maybe if I invested in a nice one, it would motivate me to use it (or learn how to use it :P ) more

Same here! I have never tried to do anything fancy with my hair, because I am absolutely rubbish at it! I usually get a low-maintenance style that I like and stick to it. I just really need a hairdryer because I have too much hair to just let it air dry. It’ll take hours. Plus my hair tends to look weird when it’s air-dried!

Okay Sunny, you’re posting this just at the right time! I need a new hairdryer! It sounds promising and hope doesn’t damage my hair.

    • Sunny

Haha yay for posting at the right time! I really really think this one is a lot kinder to my hair than its predecessor. If you do get it I hope it’ll be kind to yours too!

Yes, a great blow dryer makes all the difference! I love the Babybliss! Since I have Curly hair I’ve sort of mastered curling hair with a straightening iron. I need the straight at top, but love a beachy wave on the bottom. Keep trying, you will get it, it also stays longer than when using a curling iron. I was actually thinking of doing a tutorial myself.

    • Sunny

Wow I’d love to learn a curling trick or two from you, Taylor! I fail really bad in the hair-styling department!

  • http://eyeheartit.blogspot.com Larie

My goal is to grow out my hair and then actually try these fancy things with it…so I will be back to you in a few months for all of the hair recs :P

    • Sunny

      Haha can’t wait!

  • Shoegal

I have a GHD flat iron that is worth every sterling pound I paid way back when. Now, after reading your entry, I realize I too need to upgrade my hair dryer! Im very impatient so I want one that dries my massive hair fast! Is this the one and where can I get it in Belgium? Thanks!

    • Sunny

Hey girl, this one does dry hair fast enough for me. It’s way more powerful than its smaller plastic-feeling predecessor!

You can find Remington in electronics store. I did just order mine on Amazon.fr though!

I have a Remington straightening iron and I love it ! Best purchase for my hair ever ! And curling also works very well with this one, though it does take some practice.

    • Sunny

Good to know it works well for you! I’ll keep practicing ;)

My daughter needs a new flat iron pretty soon here, so I’ll have to take a look at this one for sure! SInce she’ll be off to college, she’ll need her own styling tools because we share at them moment.

    • Sunny

Aww well if you do get it I hope she’ll like it!
