I have to admit something. A lot of the times a product works fairly well for me while it possesses life-changing potential. My skin is pretty much just so. While I have seen several products visibly changing it for the better recently, many leave me feeling more neutral than anything else. Don’t get me wrong. They’re not bad. They are just not good enough for me to develop some kind of loyalty. Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid (RRP: 38,70 euros) was one of those when I got it almost three months ago. Over the three months however, I have gone from being mildly impressed to swearing by it!
Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid comes in their standard tube packaging with a longer nozzle. According to Caudalie, it is a “correcting, perfecting and moisturizing fluid creates a radiant complexion instantly. Day after day, the skin is transformed: Dark spots are reduced, skin texture is refined and the complexion is beautifully even and radiant.” It is a lot of promises for a day cream to make, and somehow elusive at that. After three months however, I can tell you it does what it promises to!
Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid has a very thin consistency, and it is ever so slightly “tinted.” It also is ever-so-slightly light-reflecting, but once it is spread out you see neither the tint nor the light-reflecting particle. Like all Caudalie products, it has a very light and pleasant smell. I can’t really imagine anyone being being too bothered!
Now, let’s talk about my initial impression. I got this in the very beginning of November, and basically for a month and a half afterwards we were experiencing a very mild autumn/winter. I was basically pretty happy with my Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum, and I just didn’t feel this made any difference. Sure, my skin was hydrated. Maybe it looked even a bit better than with the serum alone. And oh, the texture is very pleasant, but that’s it?
Then the temperature dropped, and I was suddenly aware of the fact that even though the wind felt like knife on my face, my skin was perfectly healthy, radiant, and hydrated with this day cream. Especially considering how incredibly light and non-greasy the texture is, Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid achieves an awful lot! For around three weeks we had below-zero weather, wind, and the whole lot, but it kept my skin in tip-top condition!
A couple of weeks ago I had a new chemical peel experiment gone wrong. By the time I was supposed to rinse it off, I saw to my horror that my forehead had turned into an angry shade of red. After rinsing it off, I could feel my skin was dehydrated and stripped. Not the ideal situation. I slathered on some face oil and moisturizer, but when I woke up in the morning my skin still wasn’t back to normal. I patted Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum in. Still dehydrated. Frustrated, I rubbed some of this in and distracted myself with making my morning coffee. 10 minutes later I walked past by the mirror again and couldn’t believe what I was seeing: my skin was back to normal! It was plump, smooth, hydrated, radiant, and soft. I definitely did a little happy dance! The episode took maybe one more day to be fully over, but it was when I knew this is something I would always go back to. I am not only convinced. I have been converted!
Did I mention it’s great under makeup as well? Again, I normally stick to Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum alone when I am going to put on foundation afterwards. In this weather I don’t mind having a little more help, and this is what I turn to. I like the fact that you can barely feel its existence, but it is there to keep your skin happy till the end of the day!
Here is the ingredient list:
Bottom line: If you have combination/oily skin, and are interested in a day cream that will offer hydration and radiance, get Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid and get it now! I am beyond impressed with what it has done for my skin with such a light texture. If your skin is drier, consider Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Cream. I haven’t tried this myself, but I can imagine drier skin types being satisfied with it!
What is your go-to day cream? What do you use when your skincare experiments go wrong? Have you tried anything from the Caudalie Vinoperfect line?
