If you reach for bolder shades all-year-round, Guerlain has an eye-catching number this spring in Flirt Shine Automatique (761, RRP in Belgium: 34,96 euros). My previous experience with Shine Automatiques is that they seem somehow more tame in general, so the moment I pulled Flirt out I was a bit confused: sure it’s too loud to be part of the Shine Automatique clan?

I have talked about the packaging of Guerlain Rouge Automatiques and Shine Automatiques many times. In short, the cool mechanism and the fact that the casing does not hold fingerprints make it a big winner for me! That and you can apply this with one hand!
Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique is a dark fuchsia berry with shimmer. The texture is very lightweight and almost like a balm, so it glides on easily. However, it doesn’t move around or migrate at all. The shimmer in Flirt is also finer than some other Shine Automatiques I have tried. I can feel the shimmer in some of them when I press my lips together, but Flirt seems to be an exception. Since Flirt is a much bolder shade, it also lasts longer than other Shine Automatiques in my experience. There is minimal transfer, and it hangs in there for about 6 hours! It leaves a bit of stain as well, so Flirt really excels in the longevity department for such a lightweight formula!
Here is how Flirt swatches:
Do note that one single layer actually gives you opaque coverage, though as it is with Shine Automatiques, Flirt has this underlying translucency that makes it seem like it’s glowing from within! Here is how Flirt looks on me. It was one layer applied straight from the tube:
If you sheer it out a little, Flirt becomes a lovely bright fuchsia! I wore it like that here with Guerlain Attrape-Coeur. It’s like having two lipsticks in one!
Something else worth mentioning about Guerlain lipsticks is that they make lip lines look better. If you are concerned about how yours look, Guerlain formulas are good bets! Also, did I already mention about 500 times how hydrating they are?
Bottom line: With the stellar formula and bold shade, Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique will satisfy girls who still want a bit of drama on their lips even though it is spring. The incredibly lightweight texture, easy glide, and extraordinary staying power make Flirt stand out in the sea of spring releases!
Have you got to see Guerlain Cil D’Enfer in person? Did any of the 6 lipsticks speak to you? Have you tried a Shine Automatique?
