Flirt with this Bold Fuchsia Berry on Your Lips this Spring: Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique

Guerlain Flirt FOTD

If you reach for bolder shades all-year-round, Guerlain has an eye-catching number this spring in Flirt Shine Automatique (761, RRP in Belgium: 34,96 euros). My previous experience with Shine Automatiques is that they seem somehow more tame in general, so the moment I pulled Flirt out I was a bit confused: sure it’s too loud to be part of the Shine Automatique clan?

I have talked about the packaging of Guerlain Rouge Automatiques and Shine Automatiques many times. In short, the cool mechanism and the fact that the casing does not hold fingerprints make it a big winner for me! That and you can apply this with one hand!

Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique 761

Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique is a dark fuchsia berry with shimmer. The texture is very lightweight and almost like a balm, so it glides on easily. However, it doesn’t move around or migrate at all. The shimmer in Flirt is also finer than some other Shine Automatiques I have tried. I can feel the shimmer in some of them when I press my lips together, but Flirt seems to be an exception. Since Flirt is a much bolder shade, it also lasts longer than other Shine Automatiques in my experience. There is minimal transfer, and it hangs in there for about 6 hours! It leaves a bit of stain as well, so Flirt really excels in the longevity department for such a lightweight formula!

Here is how Flirt swatches:

Do note that one single layer actually gives you opaque coverage, though as it is with Shine Automatiques, Flirt has this underlying translucency that makes it seem like it’s glowing from within! Here is how Flirt looks on me. It was one layer applied straight from the tube:

If you sheer it out a little, Flirt becomes a lovely bright fuchsia! I wore it like that here with Guerlain Attrape-Coeur. It’s like having two lipsticks in one!

Something else worth mentioning about Guerlain lipsticks is that they make lip lines look better. If you are concerned about how yours look, Guerlain formulas are good bets! Also, did I already mention about 500 times how hydrating they are?

Bottom line: With the stellar formula and bold shade, Guerlain Flirt Shine Automatique will satisfy girls who still want a bit of drama on their lips even though it is spring. The incredibly lightweight texture, easy glide, and extraordinary staying power make Flirt stand out in the sea of spring releases!

Have you got to see Guerlain Cil D’Enfer in person? Did any of the 6 lipsticks speak to you? Have you tried a Shine Automatique?

Ahhh–more Guerlain gorgeousness! I STILL need to go swatch some of these. I am eyeing Mitsouko, Nahema, Mi-Mai, and Pamplelune (been wanting this ever since that giveaway you did a while back!!). I wanted to try Giorgio Armani’s Rouge d’Armani Sheers next but I think I will go for Guerlain’s Shine Automatiques first!

    • Sunny

OOO yeah those are gorgeous shades! I’d highly recommend both Rouge and Shine Automatiques. They’re just too fab!

This is such a fun flirty shade! Guerlain makes really pretty fuchsias if you ask me and I love it on you! :)

    • Sunny

Aww thanks Teri! I think Guerlain makes pretty lipsticks in general!

See I think you look best with those fuchsia colors, not the intense ones but the creamy ones that sheer out a bit. Really matches your skincolor well.

Try it with a little smoky eye or heavier liner on the top?

    • Sunny

Thanks Phil! I’ll definitely try that next time :)

Is there any lip color that doesn’t look beautiful on you?! Lipstick settling into lip lines can be a problem for me, so the fact these make lip lines look better is very appealing!

    • Sunny

Aww thanks Catherine! You’re too kind! Al the Guerlain formulas I’ve tried (Rouge G, Rouge Automatique, and Shine Automatique) are great at masking lip lines. On top of that, they tend to be very hydrating. If lip lines are a concern for you you should definitely look into them!

I’ve never tried a Shine Automatique lipstick, of course I do want to but at the moment I have so many lipsticks that I first want use some up before I buy any new wants. At least I want to try, I can’t promise anything, what can I say, I love make-up so much!

    • Sunny

Haha I understand. Once you use some up you can do your research about Guerlain lipsticks, though whichever you get is probably going to knock your socks off!

  • Anne

This is so going to be mine.

(I love the look you did with Attrape-Coeur: it’s very nuanced, and it suits you well!)

    • Sunny

Aww thanks Anne! I hope you’ll like Flirt! It stands out from the Shine Automatique line!

These colors are so pretty. I love the consistency of the lipsticks from this company.

    • Sunny

I agree! Guerlain makes some of the most impressive lipsticks on the market!

Looks so good on you! I’ve been hearing great things about Flirt so it’s on it’s way to me now but I’m nervous it’ll be too bold on me and I won’t wear it.

    • Sunny

Thanks Christa! Well if you sheer it out it’s just a fuchsia, so it should be doable! I hope you’ll like it!

  • http://xLoveHappyx.com xLoveHappyx

That is a very flattering lipstick shade! If only Guerlain wasn’t so expensive ;P

    • Sunny

Haha I know what you mean. If it’s a shade that you see yourself wearing often enough though, I’d say it’s worth the occasional splurge! I like how it looks so different sheered out. It’s really like owning two lipsticks!
