Will Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique Become Your New Go-To?

Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique

Some things require no pairing, and you would be hard-pressed to make it go wrong. Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique (600, limited edition. RRP in Belgium: 34,96 euros) is such a thing. This easygoing lipstick works so effortlessly well for warmer skin tones that I can see it becoming one of my go-tos!

Guerlain Ballade

Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique is a warm peachy pink with a bit of coral mixed in. It has a soft shimmery finish. I think different undertones will pull different colors out from this lipstick, because on my lips you can hardly see any coral! The formula is typical Rouge Automatique. It glides on easily but doesn’t slide off, doesn’t migrate, and it is very hydrating during the 5 hours I have it on.

Here is how Ballade looks swatched:

On my arm you do see coral and even rose, but it looks rather different on me. You have seen Ballade in both looks I did with Guerlain Coup de Foudre here:

I would say it is mostly a peachy pink, perhaps also somehow rosy, but my undertone seems to eat the coral up. I can’t say I am disappointed though. It is very soft and pretty anyways!

Bottom line: If you are still looking for a go-to lipstick this spring, take a good look at Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique. I am sure I have told you many times how great the formula is in general, and Ballade is a wonderfully soft, feminine, and go-everywhere color. Make sure you try it on and see how it looks on you!

I have officially showed you everything I have in Guerlain Cils D’Enfer now! Does anything stand out to you? I’d love to hear what you think! If you already bought something, what did you buy and do you like it?

    it’d be my ‘go-to’ colour.
it’s the perfect warm peachy pink that makes girls happy!!!
however the price is such a turn-off.

    • Sunny

I can see it’s not within the price range that you can buy a bunch of on any day, but I personally think Guerlain lipsticks are worth it!

Seriously, there are way too many peachy-pinky-coraly lip products that I want to try right now. Thank goodness I’m heading to a huge Sephora tomorrow to try them all! 😉

    • Sunny

Haha have fun Chris! If you pick up any I’d love to see it on you :)

  • http://beautiesatwork.wordpress.com/ beauties

such a big difference between the swatch and on your lips 😮

    • Sunny

Yeah I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my lips are naturally pretty pigmented!

  • http://miaka-mylife.blogspot.com Ruby

I think it look pretty rosy on your LOTD pics. You look vibrant in it. :)

    • Sunny

Thanks Ruby! This one is a no-brainer for warm-toned girls!

    Hi Sunny,

On me Ballade applies true to the bullet color. I was actually surprised to learn that you were wearing it in your Coup de Foudre pictures because it looks quite different–although so very pretty–on you. It’s interesting how colors resonate with skin and lip tones so that different women get different effects. I have fair skin with soft peach undertones and medium rose lips and Ballade looks like it was custom blended for me :-) Like you, I find myself reaching for this effortless shade time and time again. It’s a beauty.

    • Sunny

Lucky you, Eileen! I’d love to have some of the coral show at all, but no such luck 😉 Glad to hear it’s been a go-to for you too!

I love that shade of lipstick. That is something I would definitely wear. Love your pretty sweater. That shade of green is gorgeous!

    • Sunny

Thanks Marla! It’s actually another dress 😉 I like the big collar. It keeps me warm!

Such a beautiful shade on you, so very soft, pretty and natural Sunny! But you are right, the coral seems to disappear on your lips. It still works for you though!

I’ve never tried any Guerlain. The big price tag tends to scare me off. :(

    • Sunny

Thanks Shannon! I’d say if you want to try any Guerlain, start from their lipsticks. This is a brand that really knows how to ace their lipstick formulas!

Oh love the peachy pink finish on you. And I adore that soft shimmer as well, it looks amazing. Guerlain is definitely on my list, it’s so hard to find it where I live because I’m in a small town and it’s limited. I feel like I live in the mountains or something hahaha. Must see this in person definitely or any of the Guerlain range. This is definitely more or less my type of lipstick. :-) Thanks for sharing Sunny!

    xx Donah

    • Sunny

Oh actually I have the same problem! Guerlain collections very often NEVER make their way to my town. If I want to see them I have to go to Brussels or Antwerp. I just checked again today and it still wasn’t there.

  • http://mybeautysample.com/ Becca @ The Beauty Sample

Uh yeah…this definitely needs to be mine like NOW! The color is absolute perfection–very “me”. Oh, and it looks great on you, Sunny! (as usual)

    • Sunny

Thanks Becca! I can see how you’ll LOVE this one! It does seem really you!

  • http://mylucitedreams.com Taylor

Hi Sunny! I was waiting for this one! I havnt come across it and wasn’t able to try it and your definitely right it’s so different on your arm. I guess this is one you need to try for yourself although it both lovely swatches and on. Your eye shadow is lovely btw!

    • Sunny

Thanks Taylor! I hope you’ll be able to locate this soon. Guerlain makes GREAT lipstick formula and this color will be SO adorable on you. No doubt about that!

  • http://memoiselle.com/ Meryl @ Memoiselle

The lipstick color is what I really love! I have never tried Rouge G range from Guerlain. I only have the Rouge G de Guerlain and I am so impressed by the packaging. If I am going to buy a new Guerlain lipstick, I think it’s going to be this one! :)

    • Sunny

Haha Meryl you should try a Rouge Automatique! I hope you’ll like Ballade!

  • http://mybeautyhoard.blogspot.sg/ Jacqueline

Sunny, what a lovely day to day lipstick. The Rouge Automatiques have a lovely formula.

    • Sunny

Thanks Jacqueline! Rouge Automatique was my first lipstick love, and after so many different lipsticks I’ve tried it still amazes me every time!

Love this color. For most of the time, I really prefer this kind of natural shade because they are really wearable.

    • Sunny

I agree! There are days on which I tone my eyes down just to wear a bold lipstick, but the rest of the time I’m happy with such a go-everywhere lipstick.

This neutral colour is a colour who will suit many girls I believe, you can’t do alot wrong with it.

    • Sunny

Yeah that’s what I think, which is why it’s so great!

  • http://www.bellachique.be/ Teri

Wow, it looks so much paler and just really different on your lips! I would think you would pull it more darker and orangy on you, but that is not the case, lol. Still a great colour tho, I bet this is such an easy shade to wear :)

    • Sunny

Nope I think my lip color eats up some of the tones! Still it’s a great one!

  • http://buyingcrueltyfree.com Catherine (@bcrueltyfree)

This looks like such an easy-to-wear shade. I’m hearing so many good things about this lipstick formula, I really need to try it!

    • Sunny

Yup Ballade is a total no-brainer for me! You should try ONE lipstick from Guerlain!

Goal this year, get a Guerlain lipstick 😀
    Love how natural this looks!

    • Sunny

Haha yes that’s a great goal! I’m with ya!
