Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle Brings You the Comfort of Damask Rose and Ginger

It’s Monday, and Monday is often one of those days. You know those days. Days on which you have exhausted yourself. Days on which you have had to push just a little too hard. Days on which sitting down on your couch and emptying your mind are the only things that keep you going. On those days you need some extra comfort, and mine usually consists of a good candle, a blanket, a mug of herbal infusion (my consumption of ginger infusion has reached the level of self medication), and a dozing cat. If you are ever in need of a candle for this occasion, take a look at Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle.

Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle is supposed to smell like damask rose and ginger (now you see why I needed to try this). It comes in a very sturdy cardboard box, and container itself is lovely frosted glass. It doesn’t state how much it weighs (I’m really sorry, but I forgot to weigh it before I started burning it), but it should burn for approximately 30 hours.

Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle instructions

Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle smells predominantly of roses. In the beginning I couldn’t smell the ginger, but eventually I was able to detect it lingering in the background. I am a bit obsessed with ginger (I guess growing up in Taiwan has that effect on people), but I can also see how it is not always easy to strike a balance between the warmth and sharpness. This candle does a great job in that regard!

So far the candle burns clean and fills the room quietly with its aroma. I may have said that my preference lies with candles that contain essential oil, so Aromatherapy Associates Comfort Candle is a big winner in my book! I am also looking their Indulgence Candle which contains jasmine and geranium, but let me first enjoy this while it lasts!

Have you tried anything from Aromatherapy Associates? The brand also offers a pretty extensive line-up of skincare products. Maybe I’ll venture into them soon!

Aaaah, I see Tango! <3 Gosh next time I come at your place I'm gonna take a sniff because I love ginger too! I wished I could burn candles in the living room but my cats are just too curious!

    • Sunny

Haha yes you can definitely take a sniff! I’m going to keep my fingers crossed, but mine don’t seem to be interested in candles at all. I have to worry more about setting my own blanket on fire :p

    the cat looks relaxed :)

    • Sunny

Oh totally. Their lives are ALL about relaxing ya know ;)

Ohhhh… I love candles! How much are they?

    • Sunny

Hey Anna, it’s 27 pounds on the Aromatherapy Associates website. I got mine from Beautybay when there was a sale! Ended up paying around 20 euros I think. Hope this helps!

I once bit into a huge slice of ginger thinking it was a potato…nearly died in the worst/funniest combination of choking/screaming. That said, I love the way ginger smells, so I’ll have to look into this! I kind of despise how expensive candles can be though =(

    • Sunny

Oh… uh… how did you bite into it? Ginger has a pretty tough texture!

I know what you mean, but most cheaper candles make me gag a little, so I just wait around to buy pricier ones when there is a discount LOL

It was at a hot pot party (soooo Asian of me) so it’d been stewing in the broth for hours. And I know what you mean, cheap candles give me the worst headache! I’m kind of getting into indie/local candles — they’re less expensive and often made with less nausea-inducing fragrances.

        • Sunny

Ahhh hot pots… I never get them anymore because I go home in summer, and it’s just too darn warm for hot pot! And yes, smaller indie brands are great when it comes to a lot of stuff, including candles!

This sounds beautiful… I love ginger fragrances too. Molton Brown have a lovely candle I’d love to try that smells of firewood – gorgeous!

Am going to go light a candle now… you’ve put me in the mood! :)

It is gorgeous, Nic! I have to look into Molton Brown candles. I have this misconception that they only make soap and lotion!

I love the smell of ginger and the very first picture is adorable! Candles are a must-have when I’m trying to wind down from a long day. :)

    • Sunny

Haha thanks Chris! I don’t often reach for one in summer, but when it’s all gray and cold a candle really helps!

ooo this sounds pretty good! I’m scared of the aromatherapy associates prices!! lol

    • Sunny

I got mine from Beautybay (which ships for free anywhere in the world) when there was a flash sale, so it ended up being really not so bad!

I can’t tell if it’s Tango or Muffin back there, but looks like the aromatherapy is definitely working for her :D

    • Sunny

Haha it’s Tango. He’d totally doze off whether there is a candle or not though ;)

  • http://mylucitedreams.com Taylor

That looks like a great setup! I’ve been very curious to sample the relax line. I might be the only woman who is not too keen on rose scents but I do love the flavor!

    • Sunny

Oh you can’t be the only one! I avoided rose scents until I suddenly fell fast and hard a couple of years ago! I know it’s so easy to get them wrong, but when companies do them right they’re just heavenly ;)

They sound great. The kitty in the back of the picture is cute !

    • Sunny

Haha thanks Eva! Tango has finally agreed to model properly once ;)

Ooh! Rose and Ginger sound lovely! These sound really nice! I know what you mean about cheap candles. What drives me nuts about them is how they will not burn evenly too. Grrrrr.

    • Sunny

Oh yeah. That and they give me a bit of a headache!
