Taupe & Navy Blue Fiends Will Adore Chanel Taupe & Bleu Exquis Stylo Yeux Waterproofs!

Chanel 103 Bleu Exquis, 84 Taupe Stylo Yeux Waterproof

If the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof formula works for you, I have great news! Chanel Jeux de Regards comes with a total of eight Stylo Yeux Waterproofs. Some of them are permanent members of the line-up, some are new (like Bleu Exquis 103), and others are limited edition (like Taupe 84. RRP in Belgium: 23,50 euros). Did your heart skip a beat at the sound of a taupe eyeliner?

Chanel waterproof eyeliner sharpener

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproofs have a twist-up mechanism, so sharpening isn’t often necessary. However, should you wish to get a crisp line, you can always pull off the sharpener from the end of the pencil. I have tried to sharpen mine this way, and I’m glad it’s pretty mess-free (this is mostly because the formula is not too creamy. I love how creamy eyeliners glide on, but when I have to sharpen them there’s always a lot of wiping-down to do afterwards) and waste-free. You definitely won’t lose a lot of the precious pencil this way!

Chanel calls Taupe (84) a marron glacé (candied chestnut) color (am I the only one who is frantically craving for sugar at the sound of this?). On me it is a shimmery, slightly frosty neutral taupe with a slight mauve undertone. I am glad there isn’t too much red or gray in it, because that could make my eyes look tired. Taupe brightens nicely, and it is very easy to pair.

Bleu Exquis (103) is a navy blue. It is shimmery as well, but much less so than Taupe. It is as beautifully complex as Chanel Apparition Illusion d’Ombre, which also flashes violet at certain angles. It is intense, but at the same time it is bright enough not to look flat or foreboding.

Here is how Taupe and Bleu Exquis swatch:

Formula-wise, again, if you’re looking for something very creamy, you might be disappointed with these. They aren’t hard (you won’t feel like you’re poking your eyes out with them), but they don’t glide on or practically melt upon contact with skin like some of the other eyeliners I have tried. With that said however, this formula stays put better on me than its creamier counterparts. Even without a primer, I can get them to stay all day on my lower lash line. Bleu Exquis even hangs in on my waterline for the better part of the day, and none of them smudges at all! I am personally willing to trade creaminess with lasting power!

I wore Bleu Exquis here with Chanel Apparition Illusion d’Ombre:

Bottom line: Yes please! Both Chanel Taupe and Bleu Exquis Stylo Yeux Waterproofs are colors that will work on a variety of skin tones, and the formula works well for me. Especially if you like taupe, check Taupe out before it’s gone!

Does any of these speak to you? Do you have a favorite taupe or navy blue eyeliner?

I love both shades but the blue one is my favourite! I really love your hair in the pictures btw!

    • Sunny

Thanks so much Teri! It’s actually just my freshly-shampooed mane. The amount of it is getting out of control again LOL

  • http://www.myfashiontrendencies.com Chris El

    I’ll take both! 😉

    • Sunny

Haha why am I not surprised? I bet both will look stunning on you!

  • http://lifeandlensofbeauty.blogspot.hk Jenni@lifeandlensofbeauty

oh i’ve been laying my eyes on that taupe liner!! Thanks for your swatches – i think i have to get it!!

    • Sunny

Yaay keep me posted about how you like it!

  • http://mybeautysample.com/ Becca @ The Beauty Sample

It’s insane how much I want these liners. And it’s good to hear they stay put for you–I don’t mind trading off a creamy feel for a long-lasting finish either. I’ve had too many smudgy mishaps for that to be my main concern 😛

    • Sunny

Aww well give one of these a try, Becca! I’ve found that while liners from Dior and Chanel aren’t the softest, they do tend to last better on me!

  • http://beautiesatwork.wordpress.com/ beauties

    lovely colours :)

    • Sunny

Yes! They work with so many shades too!

  • http://followmarla.blogspot.com/ Marla

Wow, I love the way you made up your eyes. So pretty.

    • Sunny

      Aww thanks Marla <3

I love love love taupe liner for the lower lash line! My long-time favorite is NYX Velvet, which is a bit more of brown taupe. This looks equally lovely, I like the plummy tones, it’s a bit unique. I agree completely about too much red in liners, a lot of popular browns liners have quite a bit of red and that just isn’t flattering at all on me.

    • Sunny

I can’t really say how unique it is because I don’t have a whole bunch of taupe eyeliners yet, but I looked around and it seems like there aren’t many taupe liners to begin with, and the existing ones seem really different!

I do hope that Bleu Exquis will be available in Singapore, total heart Chanel Stylo Yeux!

    • Sunny

I think so! It is not listed as LE, so I suppose it’ll eventually join the permanent line-up!

  • Anne

Now I’m interested in both! I don’t know if I like Taupe or Bleu Exquis more on you, both look awesome.

    • Sunny

Haha they aren’t really the same though. I usually go for a slightly darker shade on my lower lash line than Taupe, but it’s nice and brightening!

  • http://xLoveHappyx.com xLoveHappyx

Those are both pretty eyeliner shades and I like the super fine lines you were able to get :)

    • Sunny

Yup plus there isn’t a lot of waste when you sharpen them either!

  • http://redhotjillypeppers.com Redhotjillypeppers

The blue shade looks really great !

    • Sunny

I agree! I bet it’ll look SMASHING on you!

  • http://www.strawberryblondebeauty.com/ Strawberry Blonde

Gah I adore both of these! Love Chanel liners… I used to have the Blue Marine waterproof one which is a similar metallic midnight navy. Think I may need this taupe as I love a lighter shade light that on my lower lashline – much more flattering than darker tones.

    Nic x

    • Sunny

Hey Nic, I think that varies according to eye shapes! I can go nuts on my lower lash line, but I have friends whose eyes look downcast when they do it! You should definitely take a look at Taupe. It’s lovely and brightening!

  • http://keepingupwiththekelly.wordpress.com Kelly

I love that blue! I just know I will not wear it very often so it’s not worth spending that much on for me.

    • Sunny

I understand. I hope you’ll find a cheaper alternative. Blue is so big this year!

  • http://www.project-swatch.com Emi at Project Swatch

Did someone say taupe & navy blue lovers? I’m here! Both of these are lovely, and you wear them so well!

    • Sunny

Aww thanks Emi! I can’t believe I used to avoid both taupe and blue!

  • http://memoiselle.com/ Meryl @ Memoiselle

Yes I have navy eyeliner from Dior but it smudged like mad with me! Usually Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof works for me and that taupe shade is really calling my name!!

    • Sunny

Aww I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope you’ll be able to lay your hands on Taupe soon!
