Look & Final Verdict of Lancome Brun Adoré Hypnose Palette

Lancome Brun Adoré FOTD

We have seen how two Lancome Hypnose Palettes swatch and how Reflet d’Améthyste looks on me, now it’s time for the final installment of the look and verdict of Brun Adoré! I know this is the one many of you have been waiting for, so let’s get down to business!

Just as a quick recap, my first impression of Lancome Brun Adoré Hypnose Palette is pretty positive. The only shade that I wasn’t too sure about is the lightest one (on the right) because it has a drier texture and micro-glitter. Actually using it (on top of a primer) isn’t too tricky, but I still think it’s better as an inner corner highlight than an overall lid shade (it does still look drier). The good thing is there is almost no fallout during application, and none afterwards.

For the look, I used the light taupe (first in the swatch) for the inner half, the pink (4th in the swatch) as a transition shade, and the mauvy brown on the outer third. I highlighted the inner corners with the lightest shade, and lined my lower lash line with the black.

Bottom line: It’s a pity that the lightest shade isn’t stellar, but the other four shades in Lancome Brun Adoré are seriously amazing. They have great textures, generous pigmentation, and easy blendability. If you like taupe and can tolerate a little flaw,  Lancome Brun Adoré might still be worth consideration!

What do you say, yay or nay?

I love taupes, but these may be a bit too shimmery for my taste.

    • Sunny

Would have been nice if there were a couple of matte shades thrown in, eh? I get ya!

  • http://procrastinatingpretty.blogspot.com Procrastinator

Middle shade – WOW. That is all.

Ack, of course that’s not all — it looks like a darker, less purple. creamier version of Busted from Naked 2. I.e. grown-up Urban Decay.

    • Sunny

Haha yeah I love that one as well! Actually I think a large part of the reason why I got Naked 2 is because of Busted!

love the shades of this palette :)

    • Sunny

I think they’re conservative enough not to be shocking, but at the same time you can dial the drama up easily!

Sunny, I love the look of this palette. Call me a neutral convert. Such a pity about the lightest shade, perhaps it it meant to be worn over the other colours just to add a little shimmer. The black looks awesome though, so pigmented.

    • Sunny

Hey Jacqueline, the first 4 shades in this palette are very creamy and pigmented, so it might still be worth checking out!

  • http://www.peggytimmermans.be/blog Peggy Timmermans Visagie

Well in any case it is still very wearable!

    • Sunny

Haha yeah that’s true. You can definitely make dramatic looks with it too!

I am gonna go with nay, just because I already have shades like these and I really don’t need any more of them, especially not if one of them is kinda blah. That said, you created a very pretty look with the palette!

    • Sunny

Thanks girly! I see your point!

  • http://www.valleydollbeautyblog.blogspot.com ValleyDoll

Oooh, it looks like I MUST add this one to my collection !

    • Sunny

Yaay keep me posted about how you like it!

  • Dominique

I purchased ” Lumière d’Azur ” and I was impressed by the pigments and colours, those Hypnôse palettes are really good, I intend to buy another one, maybe the rose one even if this taupe combination is beautiful too.

    • Sunny

Hey Dominique, glad to hear you like yours! I’ll have to check back soon to see if they’re available here already.

The shades are nice but it seems like it all could have been just a little bit…more. It seems to be lacking something and as a result, comes off as a bit lackluster to me :/ I LOVE a good neutral/taupy palette–in fact, it’s my favorite! But these shades just don’t call to me for some reason…ah well, it looks gorgeous on you, anyway :)

    • Sunny

Thanks, Becca! I like how it looks, but I can also see your point 😉

  • http://buyingcrueltyfree.com Catherine (@bcrueltyfree)

This looks really nice, the colors are pretty, but I have plenty of dupes. I think for the price tag (and given the competition), Lancome could stand to step up their game a bit, in my humble opinion 😉

    • Sunny

Haha I agree with you, Catherine! I would love to see these palettes containing twice more product with 5 stellar shades!

  • http://theconvenientbeauty.blogspot.com JoanneP

This palette looks simple and elegant. I’m just never impressed with Lancome eyeshadow. But it looks pretty on you x

    • Sunny

Thanks Joanne! The only Lancome eyeshadow I swatched prior to these palettes is Erika F, and it freaked me out a little (too sheer and glittery. All the fans out there please don’t pelt me with stones. I know it’s a very well-loved shade!). I am a big fan of 4 shades out of 5 in this palette, but it’s a real pity one of them just can’t perform as well!

  • http://www.bellachique.be/ Teri

Ooooh, I actually really love this palette on you, it looks so nice on your skin tone too!

    • Sunny

Thanks Teri! I really like the colors as well. If only that one shade performed as well as the rest of them, it’d be perfect!

  • http://www.chicbeautytips.com Marisa Anderson

Wow! Love the color of the first shadow, it looks wonderful. Thanks for these shadow swatches.

    • Sunny

You’re welcome, Marisa! That shade is really nice (and it’s sooooo creamy)!
