I was going to think of a clever-ish introduction for this post when I thought: heck, it’s Dior Bird of Paradise Collection for summer 2013! It needs no clever introduction! If you have seen promo images floating around the blogosphere, you might have noticed the collection is huge, and it seems all kinds of exciting! You are about to see a sneak peek of some pieces today, so let’s dive in!
When I showed you the Diorshow Monos a while ago, I mentioned there would be two limited-edition shades for summer. Here is one of them, the teal Feather (351. RRP: 31 euros). Don’t worry even if teal isn’t your best friend, as I find that Feather has this muted quality that makes it more versatile!
Aqua Green (348) Diorshow Liner (RRP: 24 euros) is a frosty aqua green. If you are familiar with the formula of Diorshow Liners, you might know they aren’t the creamiest ones around. However, I do find that they last better on me than their creamier counterparts, so that’s the trade-off! It takes Aqua Green some building-up in the swatch, but I haven’t tested it out over a primer (which I systematically use) so I can’t say if it’s easy to actually work with or not.
Last summer Dior introduced four of these 1 Couleur Eye Glosses, and this year four new shades will be available (Belgium will receive two, Golden Sand and Zenith). Here you see Golden Sand 530 (RRP: 27 euros), a cooler-toned gold with an extremely sparkling finish.
What would summer be without a couple of bright lipsticks? Dior Passionnée (771) Addict Lipstick (RRP: 33,50 euros) is a bright medium pink. I would say the undertone is rather neutral, and it is definitely on the more pigmented side of Dior Addict Lipsticks! It’s a shade that will brighten many skin tones nicely!
Here come the swatches! From left to right you see Feather (dry and wet), Aqua Green, Golden Sand, and Passionnée:
Last but not least, how can you forget to dress your tips and toes in summer? This year Dior has two nail polish duos for you to have all the mix and match fun! I have Bahia (002. RRP: 30,50 euros)) here:
Each bottle contains 7ml/0.23 oz, while regular Dior Vernis contains 10ml/0.33 oz. I think it’s a pretty smart idea, and they’ll be great to travel with! The hot pink you see here is 667 Pink Graffiti, which came out with the limited edition Anselm Reyle collection in the beginning of 2012 if I am not mistaken. The blue is numbered as 792, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere so I will assume it’s brand new!
Did you see anything you like? I’m dying to check out the quints (especially the green one, Blue Lagoon 374), the Addict Jelly Lip Pens, the other nail polish duo, Samba (there’s this really cute seafoam green in it), and the Coral Glow bronzer/blush!
