I don’t know about you, but to me summer means less makeup. I want a multifunctional base with enough SPF, a light wash of color on my lids, and let’s forget about heavy-looking eyeliner (even though it’s my go-to)! It’s time to switch things up and add a fun pop of color instead! If that’s what you’re after, take a look at Dior‘s glitzy green offer this summer, Aqua Green Diorshow Liner Waterproof (348. RRP in Belgium: 24,93 euros. Availability: April 17th)!
Dior Diorshow Liner Waterproof comes in sleek silver packaging, and it contains 0.3 grams (0.01 oz). The cap snaps shut with a click, so you can be sure it won’t accidentally fall off in your makeup bag!
The liner works with a twist-up mechanism, but if you ever want to sharpen it for a more precise line, simply remove the end of the pencil! Since the texture of the pencil is not extremely soft and smudgy however, you won’t have to do it often. Also, you don’t waste a lot of product at all during the process.
Dior Aqua Green Diorshow Liner is a bright aqua green with a strong frosty finish and multi-chrome sparkle (I see blue, gold, silver…). If you have a soft, creamy, and opaque with one-pass kind of liner in mind, you might want to skip Aqua Green. Diorshow Liner Waterproof has a harder texture (think Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof), and Aqua Green is not opaque with one pass. Nevertheless, it can be built up with a couple of extra passes to look very vibrant. Another trade-off is once it’s on, it won’t go anywhere until you are ready to remove it!
Normally even if a pencil liner performs well, it still smudges a little on the outer corners after 8-9 hours. Diorshow Liner Waterproofs however, can stay on for as long as I want (well past 10 hours)! Even without a primer they have amazing lasting power on me, and because of that I’m willing to cut the harder texture some slack.
Here is how Aqua Green swatches on me. Left: one pass. Right: built up
For the look, I used Dior Golden Sand 1 Couleur Eye Gloss all over my lids, Dior Aqua Green Diorshow Liner Waterproof on my lower lash line, and Dior Passionnée Addict Lipstick on my lips. The color most probably looks darker because I lined my waterline as well. In real life, it is as bright and fresh-looking as what you see in the swatch!
Bottom line: While I wish Dior Aqua Green Diorshow Liner Waterproof could be opaque in one go, I feel a bit of building-up and the harder texture are a fair exchange for the amazing wear time! Aqua Green is a fun pop of green with a lot of glitz and glam, and I think it’s a great way to give a simple eye look a lot of personality!
Have you tried a Diorshow Liner Waterproof? Does it last well on you? Do you also own a bunch of fun pencil liners for your lower lash line?
