MAC Temperature Rising Summer 2013, Riri Woo Sneak Peek & Swatches Part 2!

MAC Temperature Rising Lipglass

Are you ready for more? How about some Lipglasses with serious bling?

MAC Rhythm, Soft Serenade, Underdressed, Liquid Passion

Three out of the four Lipglasses sparkle like crazy, especially Underdressed. At the same time it is also rather pigmented, so it might be really pretty on!

MAC Powerchrome Eye Pencils

MAC Rich Glance, Copper Strip, Life's Luxury, Polished Jet Powerchrome Eye Pencil

That’s right, MAC is doing shadow pencils! From left to right you can see Rich Glance, Copper Strip, Life’s Luxury, Polished Jet Powerchrome Eye Pencils. Rich Glance required a couple of passes to look opaque, but I only needed one pass for the other three. I thought I’d have to go home with these stripes on my arm, but fortunately some water and soap took care of them. I hope that doesn’t imply they have lesser lasting power though!

MAC Hot Nights, Ripe for Love Powder Blush

I am a fan of both blushes, especially Ripe for Love! I’m not sure how the micro-glitter in Hot Nights will look on the cheeks, but it’s definitely a blush color that I don’t own at all!

What would a summer collection be without bronzers? Most of these are repromotes while one is permanent. First let’s take a look at the Bronzing Powders:

MAC Refined Golden, Soft Sand Bronzing Powder

I apologize for the huge sparkle. It’s not the bronzer. It’s from the Lipglasses that I didn’t remove properly!

Here are the Pro Longwear Bronzers:

MAC Sun Dipped, Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzer

My impression is that the Pro Longwear Bronzers swatch better, and both shades are rather subtle.

The two Nail Lacquers and the face blender brush were not there. It’s a pity because the Nail Lacquers look so interesting in the promo image!

Something else that people have been excited about is Riri Woo, the lipstick Rihanna designed for MAC. It is inspired by her favorite MAC lipstick, Ruby Woo.

MAC Riri Woo swatch

With a matte finish, Riri Woo is definitely on the drier side. This will be available (at least in Belgium) exclusively online. Apparently Rihanna has four collaborations with MAC. Two smaller ones (like this lipstick) will only be available online, while the two larger ones will be available in stores as well.

Also, if you missed out on Ablaze when Fashion Sets came out, don’t be too upset because the lipstick and liner are making a comeback later this year in a collection called All About Orange! I was forbidden to take any pictures or swatch anything, but the collection includes variations of orange lipsticks, some Cremesheen Glasses, and a gray/silver quad. Another heads-up would be if you like the Mineralize Rich Lipsticks, watch out for the 5 new shades that will join the range in a couple of months’ time!

Phew, that’s a lot of photos and information to digest! I am excited about the shadow pencils, and I can’t wait to see if the formula will last well on me!

Oooh–Undressed is SO pretty! I don’t often buy MAC glosses anymore but when I want something that is sure to dazzle and shine with dimensional sparkle, MAC is always a great go-to! Undressed would be gorgeous during the summer with minimal makeup–maybe just a pop of turquoise liner on the eyes–and bronzed skin. :D

    • Sunny

Oh if you want a DAZZLING gloss Underdressed is probably your thing! I can just imagine you with that look and I’m sure it’ll be adorable!

  • Myna Bautista

That Riri lipstick is gorgeous. BTW, do we have a MAC website in Belgium?

    • Sunny

Hey girl, we do! Check out maccosmetics.be. I haven’t purchased anything online myself though.

  • http://www.beauty-reflections.com Tracy@Beauty Reflections

Everything is so full of GLITTER! Yikes! The Pro-Longwear Bronzers are great though-I have Sun-Dipped and love it. But the shadow pencils look great to me!

    • Sunny

Yeah the lipsticks and glosses don’t appeal to me personally, but the Pro Longwear and shadow sticks have potential!

  • http://beautiesatwork.wordpress.com/ beauties

I see lots of pretty things!

    • Sunny

      I know! So exciting!

  • http://midwestglam.com Sarah @ MidwestGlam

OMGOSH! Those blushes! Those eyeshadow pencils! Those lipglasses!!! I can see I’m going broke for this collection. Stunning. Thank you for the sneak peek and swatches!

    • Sunny

You’re welcome, Sarah! I’m glad you saw stuff you like!

  • http://aucupariabrumalis.wordpress.com Claire

Those shadow pencils :O! the grey and golden brown are right up my alley! Thank you for the swatches Sunny <3

    • Sunny

You’re welcome, Claire! I think all four shades are very wearable. I hope the formula works well and they’ll add more shades!

  • http://kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com/ Kiss & Make-up

Except for the shadow pencils I don’t really see anything that excites me… It’s all so shimmery. I don’t like that in face products. But maybe that’s a good thing. At least it will help me to keep my wallet closed, that doesn’t often happen when a new MAC collection is about to be launched ;-)

    • Sunny

LOL well and then you saw part 1 and everything changed… LOL

  • http://procrastinatingpretty.blogspot.com Procrastinator

Didn’t MAC used to do a shadow pencil back in the day? Shadesticks or something? I remember the packaging was so irritating, the product would fall out like lead out of a mechanical pencil. I’m kind of dying over the middle two shades here — but I’m getting the impression that the texture is drier than the Clinique version. What do you think?

    • Sunny

I think you’re right! I never tried that one because that was before I had any faith in eyeshadow sticks! I haven’t tried the Clinique version (no idea when they’ll be available here), but these glide on pretty easily! I also only needed one pass for 3 out of the 4, so my first impression really isn’t bad!

  • http://mybeautyhoard.blogspot.com/ Jacqueline

Sunny, the shadow pencils look very interesting. I would love to see how you use them on your lids.

    • Sunny

Hey Jacqueline, I’ll see what I can do! I’m curious about the formula as well.

  • http://wade-ashore.blogspot.com Caise

    this red lipstick looks interesting:)

    • Sunny

I don’t own Ruby Woo so I can’t compare, but with a texture like this I think some prepping has to be involved!

  • http://eyeheartit.blogspot.com Larie

More shadow pencils! Interesting! Everyone’s getting on board!

    • Sunny

Isn’t that sweet? I love them more than cream shadows. They’re EVEN easier to use and I’m that lazy.

  • Sasha

    Hi Sunny !

Oh my, that look stunning !! I love the shadow pencils ( I’m not really good at making time for a good make up – I’m always late ! -, so I often use the caviar stick from Laura Mercier, they’re gorgeous !!) And oh, a new peachy blush to add to my collection *-* (I’m kinda monomaniac you know !)

    Have a lovely weekend !

    • Sunny

Hey Sasha, thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a comment :) I’m glad you saw something you like! Eyeshadow pencils are about the best invention for people who are lazy or time-pressed (I’m both LOL), and I’d love to see how this formula performs! Enjoy your weekend too <3

  • http://mylucitedreams.com Taylor

The bronzers look beautiful. Also loving those unexpected lipgloss shades

    • Sunny

I think the Pro Longwear ones are definitely worth a look! The sparkling glosses are SERIOUSLY sparkling. I didn’t try them on so I don’t know if the sparkle feels gritty though. I hope not!

  • http://redhotjillypeppers.com Redhotjillypeppers

The shadow pencils look great !

    • Sunny

I’m so happy this is becoming a trend! A good shadow pencil saves SO MUCH time!

  • http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.ca/ Liz

I’m kind of on the verge of declaring that I’m sick of shadow pencils, but these look magnificent. Interesting collection! I hadn’t even heard of this on the horizon.

    • Sunny

Haha I’m so not tired of shadow pencils! They’re a breeze to use, and I will definitely carry some back to Taipei this summer (the only way for my eyeshadows to stay all day in the weather is a primer, a cream/pencil shadow as base, and powder on top)!

Temperature Rising should be available in the US in mid-May. I think soon enough we’ll start seeing PR info popping up!

  • http://www.valleydollbeautyblog.blogspot.com ValleyDoll

I am absolutely positively sure I cannot live without the blushes ! What a great collection !

    • Sunny

I’m digging Ripe for Love as well! Hot Nights is an interesting shade, but I’m not too sure how the micro-glitter will look!

  • http://www.chloeash.com Lily (@ChloeAsh)

MAC did some shadow pencils a few year back, I think they’re called grease paint sticks or something. They literally smelled like grease and they creased on me. I’d be interested to know how these perform.

    • Sunny

Yeah I think I have heard about them, but because the opinions were quite divided I never tried one! Interested in the formula here as well. These do seem to set rather fast and that’s always a good sign.

  • http://www.glambunctious.com Kristen @ Glambunctious

The shadow pencils are definitely on my radar! Yay for this collection! :D

    • Sunny

I’d like to test out the formula, but color-wise I think I own very similar ones already. Still, it’s nice to see MAC jumping the shadow pencil bandwagon. Fingers crossed for a great formula and more shades in the future!

  • Henna

Your swatches are awesome!! But you really should have watermarked them. A few people on instagram have taken them and posted their own watermarks like they own them.

    • Sunny

Hey Henna, thanks so much for letting me know! I have to admit I never saw this coming. Stealing is bad enough, but watermarking someone else’s pics just takes it to a different level. I’ll look into it and hopefully figure something out ASAP. Thanks again!

Wow, those eye shadow sticks and colours are right up my alley! Looking forward to those, and the upcoming All About Orange collection you mention. Been on the hunt for the perfect orange lippy recently – to match a blush I have. ;)

Thanks for the swatches & info! x

    • Sunny

Hey girly, All About Orange has some wearable shades as well as brighter ones. I hope you’ll find the lipstick to match your blush :)

  • http://lifeandlensofbeauty.blogspot.hk Jenni @ lifeandlensofbeauty

the sparkles in the lipglasses r simply dazzling!! I love their sheen :D
the pencils also r packed with pigments – thanks for your swatches i’ll definitely check these out!!

    • Sunny

You’re welcome, Jenni! I hope you’ll like some stuff from this collection when you see it :)

  • alex

RIRI WOO looks interesting but do you have Ruby Woo to compare? they seem to look the same…

    • Sunny

Hey Alex, sorry but I don’t! The thing is I don’t have the lipstick, and I saw this at the PR agency and not the shop. They didn’t have Ruby Woo there (otherwise I would have compared the two). From Temptalia’s description I would say at least the texture sounds similar. I will do a comparison swatch if I can!

  • http://make-up-deer.blogspot.it Make-up-Deer

Hi Sunny, thanks a lot for your swatches!
I’m still undecided about the blushes, How did you like them? I may end up taking Feel my pulse lipstick and nothing more (from this collection).. but I’m also afraid to miss something unique XD

    • Sunny

Hey girl, you’re welcome! I think Ripe for Love has real potential. Hot Nights is an interesting color that I personally don’t have in my stash, but as you can probably see from the pictures it contains micro-glitter. I don’t know how that’s going to play out on the face!

  • Sylvia60

    Shadow pencils.
You never know how they’re going to be until you try them.
    These colours look fabulous.
    Thanks for the swatches!

    • Sunny

Hey Sylvia, I agree with you! At least 3 out of the 4 are very smooth and pigmented though (the lightest shade required a couple of passes)! Let’s hope it’s a good start!

  • http://blusherine.blogspot.co.at/ Blusherine

Thank you very much for all your excellent swatches! Now I’m prepared for tonight’s preview party here in Vienna!
    xoxo

    • Sunny

Oh yay I hope you’ll see some things you like!

  • http://www.glamorousgia.com/ Gia

Wow!! Really loving the look of Riri Woo!

    • Sunny

Hey Gia, I heard it could be really similar to Ruby Woo. I’d love to see how the two compare ;)
