Chanel L’Été Papillon de Chanel Sneak Peek & Quick Swatches!

Chanel L’Été Papillon de Chanel sneak peek

Hey everyone! Today I have the sneak peek and quick swatches of a beautiful summer collection, Chanel L’Été Papillon de Chanel, to show you! It will hit the shelves in Belgium on May 10th. Hopefully I’ll have most of the reviews up by then so you can have your wish list ready!

Chanel Stylo Eyeshadows

As a fan of eyeshadow sticks, I have been really looking forward to Chanel Stylo Eyeshadows (RRP in Belgium: 28 euros). Besides the nifty twist-up mechanism (no mess, no waste), they have an amazing cooling effect when they come in contact with the skin! I haven’t got to test the formula out yet, but they seem to glide on easily and I will for sure keep you posted about the rest!

Chanel (07) Moon River, (37) Jade Shore, (47) Blue Bay, (57) Black Stream Stylo Eyeshadows

From left to right: Moon River (07), Jade Shore (37), Blue Ray (47), and Black Stream (57).

Chanel Moon River, Jade Shore, Blue Bay, Black Stream swatch

The swatches are done with more or less one swipe (sometimes I had to go back because I didn’t apply pressure evenly). As you can see, Chanel certainly did not skimp on pigment or sparkle! I thought I’d like Moon River the most (don’t get me wrong. I love how it looks on my skin tone even though I thought it might pull a little too cool), but Jade Shore is also a stunner! There is a bit of gray in there just to give it more dimension!

Chanel Blue Note, Lime Light, Zest Inimitable Waterproof

Some of the most unusual pieces in this collection include four colored Inimitable Waterproofs (RRP in Belgium: 30,50 euros). From left to right you can see Blue Note (57), Lime Light (37) and Zest (27). I quickly tried these on top of my regular black mascara today, and the effect is pretty interesting!

Chanel Envolee Levres Scintillantes

The collection also includes two Rouge Coco Shines (Idylle 457, Pygmalion 467) and three Lèvres Scintillantes (Zéphyr 377, Envolée 427, and Eden 437). What you see here is Envolée 427 (427), a sheer, sparkling coral. I will most probably do some layering experiments with it!

Here are the swatches of Zest, Lime Light, Blue Note, and Envolée:

Last but not least, let’s just say the three Le Vernis are lusted after for a good reason!

Chanel Lilis (647), Azure (657), Bel-Argus (667) Le Vernis

From left to right you see Lilis (647), Azuré (657), and Bel-Argus (667). I know that Azuré has attracted the most attention, but after quickly trying all three on my nails, I can tell you it would be heartbreaking if I could only pick one (or two, for that matter).

That’s it for today! Have you seen this collection already? Are you eyeing anything or have you already picked something up? Let me know in the comments!

I am lemming jade shore and moon river so bad, can’t wait to swatch them, they look right up my alley. and those nail polishes, I really like this chanel collection xxx

    • Sunny

Hey Claire, those are my first picks too! I have Jade Shore on all over my lids. I think the little gray tinge in it makes it very wearable! Not too bright or clownish ;)

  • http://lifeandlensofbeauty.blogspot.hk jenni@lifeandlensofbeauty.blogspot.hk

Moon River is such a nice taupe – I will buy it for the name alone XD I love that song

    • Sunny

I know what you mean! It’s been in my head for a couple of days now, and I keep thinking about Breakfast at Tiffany’s too!!!

  • Paige

I’m definitely getting Lilis and Azuré next. I’ve already bought the Metamorphose quad. Envolée sounds interesting but I’m not sure how much of a difference it will look on my lips (I have pigmented, and leaning slightly red lips). I need to try it at the counter first.

    • Sunny

Hey Paige, great picks! Envolée doesn’t make that much difference on my lips. I think it has its place in the collection because it’s more eye-heavy, but whether you’ll need it is another story. You might have something that has a similar effect in your stash already!

Azure looks great! I can’t wait to see the swatches :)

    • Sunny

Azure IS great! I had it on today and I kept shifting my fingers in the car (of course I wasn’t driving) to see how it goes from teal to blue :p I had a VERY good time!

  • http://beautiesatwork.wordpress.com/ beauties

Dear lord xD I’m dying over here. I would LOVE to go through your stash and play with all your high-end make-up :)

    • Sunny

LOL yeah I know what you mean :p

  • http://www.bellachique.be Teri

Can’t wait to see you with the mascaras :p. The whole collection is such a stunner eh? I’m head over heels with the nail polishes ^^.

    • Sunny

Haha that’ll be fun indeed :p I still think I need Pygmalion Rouge Coco Shine in my life. Isn’t that horrible? LOL

  • http://softly.nothingspaces.com Carina

Ahhh I can’t wait to see what you think of them!

    • Sunny

Hey Carina, I’ll try my best!

  • http://wade-ashore.blogspot.com Caise

unfortunately I don’t like this collection at all :-(

    • Sunny

That’s good news for your wallet though!

  • http://drivelaboutfrivol.blogspot.com Kate

    GIMME GIMME NOW!!!

    • Sunny

Haha Kate I’d love to find out what you’ll pick up!

  • http://www.chloeash.com Lily

Moon River and Black Stream – eyeing those two :-)
And the nail polishes are absolutely gorgeous!

    • Sunny

Hey Lily, I’m guessing Black Stream will make a very dramatic smokey eye easy! The nail polishes are definitely out of this world too!

  • http://memoiselle.com/ Meryl @ Memoiselle

Wheee what a beautiful set of pictures Sunny!
I must say that summer 2013 is a wild season for Chanel; it’s not boring at all! The eyeshadow sticks attracts me but I am really worried that it’ll smudge on me. I can’t wait to read your full review on those products!

    • Sunny

Aww thanks, Meryl! I’m testing the formula out as we speak. So far it’s been impressive! I’ll let you in on the details as soon as I can :)

  • http://www.strawberryblondebeauty.com/ Nic @Strawbry_Blonde

    Love the Azure polish!

    Nic

    • Sunny

Hey Nic, same here! It’s like Peridot all over again! The duochrome effect is insane!

  • http://www.valleydollbeautyblog.blogspot.com ValleyDoll

It all has such a summer-ish feeling ! Love the shades and those sticks come very handy in the summer, in my opinion. Might pick up one of the nail polishes, so gorgeous !

    • Sunny

Hey Eva, I tried the Stylo Eyeshadows on today and I’m pretty blown away by their lasting power! The cooling sensation is pretty wacky too, but don’t get it on your waterline. I’ll get the full review up ASAP! And yes, this crop of Le Vernis is mind-blowing!

  • Anne

Uhhhh -my knees go weak just by looking at Azuré. I have a fidelity check that will allow me to buy it, but I can’t justify the other two. I’d be interested to read your review though!

    • Sunny

Hey Anne, I put Azuré on today. I have to say the formula isn’t the easiest to work with, and coupled with the brush (which I have no problem with when it’s a cream finish, but when it’s metallic it becomes a little tricky) it took a little more patience. The result is stunning though! It’ll be up on the blog soon!

      • Anne

Really? I personally love the brush of Chanel nailpolishes! I hate it when it’s too wide…

        • Sunny

Haha yeah I prefer wider brushes! I think it’s easier to avoid brush strokes that way, but maybe it’s just me!

  • http://kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com/ Kiss & Make-up

I’ve seen Lilis ”in action” and it’s just the most perfect shade! :-) Thanks for the sneak preview, Sunny, happy weekend!

    • Sunny

You’re welcome, Melissa! I’ve put Lilis on one nail and you’re right! I like how it doesn’t pull so orange on me that it just becomes an orange. It’s really a coral :) Happy weekend to you, too!

  • http://redhotjillypeppers.com Redhotjillypeppers

That black eyeshadow looks so pigmented ! I’m impressed !

    • Sunny

It is really intense! People who like dramatic smokey eyes would really appreciate it!

  • http://mylucitedreams.com Taylor

Wow you got the whole collection! Azure is definitely the stand-out for me. The yellow mascara is very strange, I’m not sure what one would do with that. The eye shadow sticks look lovely!

    • Sunny

Hey Taylor, I watched the tutorial Lisa Eldridge did for the collection. She suggests layering the colored mascaras on the tip of the lashes (over regular black mascara). I tried that the other day. I must say it’s fun, but I really don’t know how much use most people can get out of them! Blue Note is really nice, and can probably work alone though!

  • http://mybeautyhoard.blogspot.com/ Jacqueline

The mascaras look way cute but somehow I’m not feeling the cream shadows.

    • Sunny

Hey Jacqueline, but Moon River is a sparkling TAUPE *wink wink* I’m really digging Jade Shore too. The gray in it makes it more wearable than I thought it would be!

  • http://makeupmorsels.wordpress.com Makeup Morsels

LOL am I eyeing something? Yeah, the whole collection! Blue mascara is my favorite, and I’m toying with the idea of picking that one up. I just like to pile it on and pair it with a gold liner, looks super cool. I also love the finish on those cream shadows, so I’ll definitely be checking those out when I get home this summer. And the nail polishes…’nuff said.

    • Sunny

Haha yeah that’s probably a stupid question :p

I’m loving the shadow sticks because they stay SO well on me! I tested them for 11 hours yesterday. With or without a primer there’s no creasing whatsoever! That’s rare because a lot of the times I need a primer, sometimes I need a primer AND pressed shadows on top, and other times no amount of work will make something like this stay put, so I am pleased to say the least!

  • http://www.peggytimmermans.be/blog peggy timmermans

Moon River looks stunning! I adore that colour! Ok i wouldn’t use yellow mascara, but for a shoot it can be pretty cool!

    • Sunny

Hey Peggy, Moon River is very wearable, but at the same time all the sparkle gives it a lot of glam factor! The yellow mascara is interesting layered on top of black, but I don’t know if regular consumers will get a lot of use out of it.

  • Dominique

I need the 3 nail polishes :), the coloured mascaras look interesting but I found some Bourjois ones which are very good and less pricey. I love the RCS and the eyeshadows too but the polishes are a must-have for me ! Gorgeous collection, I hope they will launch here soon here ( may I think but the question is when ! )

    • Sunny

Haha yeah the nail polishes are fab! I actually think Blue Note is pretty wearable, and the other two will be fun to play with but I’m not sure how much use I will get out of them. It should be available soon in France as well! It’s May 10th here and I don’t think you’ll have long to wait either!

      • Dominique

Thank you for posting, so May 10th in the US, yes soon in France too :) as you said the polishes are fab, such a must-have collection !

        • Sunny

Psst Dominique I live in Belgium! The collection is already out in the US. Since we’re neighbors I suppose you’ll get it soon as well.

  • http://www.bakingbeauty.net Krystle Kouture (Baking Beauty)

Moon River looks like my only must have!

    • Sunny

Hey Krystle, I have Moon River on for the moment and it does look pretty amazing!

  • http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.ca/ Liz

I think that this is my fave summer 2013 collection by far, except for Guerlain’s bronzers. The colours are stunning and the products all look great. Nothing to complain about!

    • Sunny

Hey Liz, I’ve been pretty impressed here. The reviews/looks will start rolling out soon!

  • VickyM

I love the topic of this collection :D , we already have it here along with the new Rouge Coco and Rouge Coco shine. I do love the eyeshadows and had the oportunity to swatch them but since I don´t really use eyeshadow often I don´t think I would buy. However I swatched Pygmalion Coco shine and will consider going back maybe this weekend to see if I really want it. I was hopefull for the raspberry gloss but I got dissapointed when it swatched clear :( . I did love azure nail polish but will have to think if I wan´t to pay so much for polish since I really only paintmy toes…

    • Sunny

Oh yay, I’m glad to hear the new Rouge Cocos and Rouge Coco Shines made it there! I’d love to swatch Pygmalion when it comes out here (this Friday)! All three glosses from this collection are pretty sheer. I think the focus of this collection is really the Stylo Eyeshadows and Le Vernis, so the more toned-down lips will bring it together.
