I am very tempted to cut through my usual rambling and write the bottom line part right here. It’ll be something like this: I am thoroughly obsessed with Dior Bikini Diorblush Cheek Creme (RRP in Belgium: 33,02 euros), and I can’t wait to check out the rest of the Summer Mix collection! However, I understand you might need a little more than that, so here we go!
Diorblush Cheek Creme
comes in a plastic pot. In fact, if I were to change on thing about this product, I would choose glass instead. However, the packaging doesn’t seem flimsy at all! It contains 7 grams/0.24 oz of product, which is very generous compared with most cream blushes on the market.
EDIT 09/06/13: I am really sorry, but after tapping the pot against a glass, I think the pot is made of glass after all!
On me, Bikini is a coral red with some teeny tiny light-reflecting particle that you don’t see swatched/on the face. It is much bolder than average in my stash, and I cannot stress this enough: the quality is magnificent! It has an extremely lightweight, somehow cream-to-powder type of finish. It isn’t greasy or sticky at all. At the same time, it is not powdery-looking. The texture is a bit bouncy, but I wouldn’t call it a mousse. I would describe it as a denser, more solid version of Chanel Illusion d’Ombre.
Bikini packs an amazing amount of pigment in a very lightweight formula. It blends so easily that there is virtually not possible to make a mistake with this. It will never look patchy or streaky. You can really sheer it out for a tiny bit of color, but you can also build it up. The finish is incredibly luminous, smooth, and healthy-looking! It lasts well as well. I don’t see visible fading till after the 8th hour, but it will take much longer for the blush to more or less disappear.
I would recommend Dior Bikini Diorblush Cheek Creme to just about everyone because it seems to strike a balance in many aspects. You can sheer it out or play it up depending on how comfortable you are sporting strong blush. It lasts well, but in case you ever need to touch up (say you’ve been walking around for hours in humidity and heat), it’s much easier than carrying a powder blush and a brush or a very creamy cream blush (I am always worried it’d melt). Cream products work well for those with drier skin, but the formula of Diorblush Cheek Creme is not heavy or greasy, so even those with oilier skin can probably use this with ease!
Here you see Dior Bikini Diorblush Cheek Creme in action. I used Dior Diablotine Addict Gloss on my lips.
Dior suggests pairing Bikini with Créoles Vernis. I pulled Dior Plaza Vernis out of my stash because it seems to be in a similar vein. I’m holding the 20ml bottle of Dior Addict Eau Délice so you can see how adorable the little bottle is!
Who is game for mixing things up with Dior this summer (God help me, I might pick up more of these Cheek Cremes and perhaps even a couple of Vernis…)?
