A Burst of Happiness in the Shower: Rituals Fortune Oil

Rituals Laughing Buddha

Rituals is a Dutch skincare/makeup brand that can be easily seen around here. Their products often share an Asian theme, and a while ago they launched the Laughing Buddha collection. What stood out to me in the collection? Fortune Oil (200ml/6.7 oz. RRP in Belgium: 8.50 euros), a sweet orange- and cedar wood-scented shower oil!

Rituals Fortune Oil

While just about every brand does shower gels, shower oils aren’t all that common. The other one I have tried and loved is L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (I have a bottle that I am perfectly happy just looking at for the moment). Rituals Fortune Oil is a more budget-friendly version that will perk you up in the shower!

Rituals shower oil

Rituals Fortune Oil has the uplifting scent of sweet orange and cedar wood. The consistency is thick when you pump it out, but it becomes a light gel when it comes in contact with water. It almost doesn’t foam up, and it leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth without being sticky or slippery (I do still need to use a body lotion afterwards).

All in all a very pleasant shower buddy!

Have you tried a shower oil?

I’ve never tried a shower oil, but I do love oils, so it sounds like something to try. Love the deep gold color of the packaging

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Catherine, it’s probably easier for you to grab the L’Occitane one! I normally don’t care too much about shower gels, but shower oils feel like something extra nice!

  • http://www.beautyloves.be/ BeautyLoves

I love Rituals, almost all of their products are a hit :) I’ve tried shower oils from L’Occitane, so I’m guessing I’ll like the Rituals one as well!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Stamatia, the texture of the Rituals one is thicker, but I do like them both!

  • http://kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.wordpress.com/ Kiss & Make-up

I’ve been meaning to try this line, but Rituals isn’t available here in La Suisse, so I gotta wait until my next trip to the BE. Orrrrrrrr have someone get them for me and send them over, lol :-)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

LOL in any case I hope you’ll get to try it soon!

  • http://mybeautysample.com/ Becca @ The Beauty Sample

I haven’t tried a shower oil but Lily suggested the L’Occitane one recently and now I’m really curious–it sounds so lovely! :D

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Becca, you should really try that L’Occitane one! I’m happy just looking at my new bottle of the almond shower oil for the moment. Don’t know what I’m saving it for, but I want to savor the fact that I have a bottle of it for as long as I can LOL

  • ValleyDoll

Haven’t tried a shower oil yet, it does sound great !

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Eva, you should try one! I’d be so happy if every brand does a shower oil or two :)

  • http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.ca/ Liz

Never heard of them and I don’t think they’re over here yet, but anything with oranges and oils get the better of me. :)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liz, Rituals is more common in Europe. I’m really into oil so a shower oil is good in my book :)

  • Lily

I love my Almond Shower Oil. I have back ups of it :-) I haven’t seen this around, but sweet orange and cedar wood sound like a lovely combination!
