Jo Malone is a familiar name for perfume lovers worldwide. I have had my eyes on some of the creations for a while, but the limited-edition Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is the first bottle of Jo Malone I own!
The cologne comes in a classic box that I will most probably use for some other purposes later.
The bottle of Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is decorated with the drawing of the flower itself, and there is a picture in the back. I had to Wikipedia osmanthus just to figure out which flower it is. It turned out there are many different species under the name, and the cologne smells nothing like the one species I am familiar with.
Since I know nothing about the flower, it is hard for me to pick out the notes. According to Jo Malone, Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is “delicately exotic. This white flower captures the duality of apricot counterpoised with supple leather. Luminous petitgrain and luscious peach and orange flower ripple over voluptuous cashmere wood.”
I do smell peach and leather, but most of all, Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne reminds me of something I want to wear along with a white dress in summer (specification: in my imagination only. White is not the most flattering color on me). I usually don’t wear “clean” scents too well, but this one is a juicy delight! It also lasts much better on me than I thought it would, which is a big plus in my book!
In short, if you’re looking for a clean and pretty fragrance for summer, check out Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne before it’s gone!
(Don’t you wish you could have this in your house every day?)
This September, Jo Malone is launching the new Peony & Blush Suede Cologne. It smells like a lush English garden. I particularly love it layered over the new Saffron Cologne Intense (that’s when the leather note really comes out)! It is very fruity and floral combined with English Pear & Freesia. The brand is all about layering, and I wonder what else it’ll work well with!
What is your favorite Jo Malone scent or combination?
