Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne (& Sneak Peek of the New Peony & Blush Suede)

Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne

Jo Malone is a familiar name for perfume lovers worldwide. I have had my eyes on some of the creations for a while, but the limited-edition Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is the first bottle of Jo Malone I own!

The cologne comes in a classic box that I will most probably use for some other purposes later.

Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne

The bottle of Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is decorated with the drawing of the flower itself, and there is a picture in the back. I had to Wikipedia osmanthus just to figure out which flower it is. It turned out there are many different species under the name, and the cologne smells nothing like the one species I am familiar with.

Since I know nothing about the flower, it is hard for me to pick out the notes. According to Jo Malone, Osmanthus Blossom Cologne is “delicately exotic. This white flower captures the duality of apricot counterpoised with supple leather. Luminous petitgrain and luscious peach and orange flower ripple over voluptuous cashmere wood.”

I do smell peach and leather, but most of all, Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne reminds me of something I want to wear along with a white dress in summer (specification: in my imagination only. White is not the most flattering color on me). I usually don’t wear “clean” scents too well, but this one is a juicy delight! It also lasts much better on me than I thought it would, which is a big plus in my book!

In short, if you’re looking for a clean and pretty fragrance for summer, check out Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom Cologne before it’s gone!

(Don’t you wish you could have this in your house every day?)

Jo Malone Peony & Suede

This September, Jo Malone is launching the new Peony & Blush Suede Cologne. It smells like a lush English garden. I particularly love it layered over the new Saffron Cologne Intense (that’s when the leather note really comes out)! It is very fruity and floral combined with English Pear & Freesia. The brand is all about layering, and I wonder what else it’ll work well with!

Mostly Sunny disclosure

  • Kiss & Make-up

I like the smell of osmanthus flower. I had a Roger & Gallet fragrance once that had osmanthus in it. I know, I know, R&G and Jo Malone are probably not on the same level as far as exclusiveness go, but still :-)

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Haha well there are many species under the same name, so it might be different indeed!

  • Icaria

I’ve never sampled any of Jo Malone fragrances. There’s only one place in Montreal that has them and it’s a little out of the way, I should make the effort to go. That bouquet is gorgeous! Can you believe someone stole a huge peonies bush from the side of my house? They where a beautiful fuschia. Thankfully I still have the other which is almost a deep purple. :)

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

WHAT? Somebody stole your peony bush? That’s insane :(

  • Ira

    Amazing pics, dear! So fab:)

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

      Thanks, Ira!

  • Catherine

OK, how lovely is the packaging and bottle? So pretty. Leather, though? I would never have thought of that for a fragrance..

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Catherine, leather is actually not a very uncommon note! It doesn’t really smell like a leather bag though. It’s more like a soft reminder of leather if that makes sense.

  • ValleyDoll

I really must stop by a Jo Malone counter soon, I loove the scents ! These sound great. And those flowers, I wish someone would just give a gorgeous bouquet of these to me ;).

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

I know! That would be SO nice 😉

  • Redhotjillypeppers

I never tried Jo Malone scents but I should really look into them because they sound divine !

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Jill, I like some of them and I’d like to try some layering!

  • Liz

My fave is Earl Grey & Cucumber, which I was determined to have this summer but maybe next year instead after I get rid of a few more bottles. A sales lady gave me a sneak whiff of the first sample of Osmanthus a few months ago and I thought it was just okay – didn’t do anything special for me. It’s pretty and I love the blossoms on the bottle, but I’m not sure why it warrants a LE status.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liz, I do like Earl Grey & Cucumber too, but I’ve never tried it on myself! This LE thing is so arbitrary! I do love Osmanthus Blossom on myself, but I have no idea why it has to be LE!

  • Jenni @ lifeandlensofbeauty

I’m always stalking JM and waiting for this scent to come out! Needless to say I’m also intrigued by things with ‘saffron’ in it 😛 like liz, i like the earl grey and cucumber scent, but i also like Blackberry & Bay, and an LE (i think) bottle on my table called “Grapefruit & Assam”!

    • Jenni @ lifeandlensofbeauty

oh er and I saw EDP versions when traveling elsewhere, wish the EDPs are sold in HK!!!

      • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

What? EDPs? Oh are you talking about the Intense line (like the saffron one in the pic)? I do prefer EDPs in general, but when it’s 30+ degrees outside, a nice EDT will do!

  • Selena

My favourite is Nectarine Blossom and Honey. It’s a subtle scent.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Selena, I don’t think I’ve sniffed that one, but I like it already! Sounds pretty and sweet!

  • Ruby Chua

My favourite has got to be English Pear & Freesia with Vanilla & Anise. I totally heart this scent but was unfortunately sold out when i went to check it out at the store.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Oh nooo that’s sad :( I don’t know why they made it LE!
