It seems to be a good season for lipsticks, and Chanel‘s Rose Moiré Collection is one of the many examples. Today we’re taking a closer look at Indécise and Énigmatique Rouge Allures!
Chanel Indécise Rouge Allure (125. RRP in Belgium: 32 euros) is a shimmery pinky beige. The fine shimmer gives it a softly frosty finish. This is one of those shades that I was sure would wash me out, but turned out to be just fine on my lips!
Indécise is semi-opaque with one pass, but one more would cover the lips nicely. It glides on easily and has a very, very lightweight texture. Like the other Rouge Allures, it doesn’t smooth lip lines out. However, it is comfortable to wear and lasts a good 3-4 hours.
Left: one pass. Right: Built up.
Here is how Indécise looks on me:
I want to show you a couple of photos with each lipstick in the line, as how the shimmer reflects light makes it look a bit different from different angles. I can see Indécise as a good my-lips-but-better shade for some, particularly those who are fairer. On light-to-medium ladies (like myself), it would work as a nude!
Énigmatique (135) is a pink-based red with a slight brownish tinge. The brownish tinge makes it more toned-down, and it becomes more prominent once the shine has worn off with drinks or food. It has the same fine shimmer as the rest of the Rose Moiré Collection. It is softer than Indécise, and it is opaque with one pass. The lasting power is impressive! It can survive a meal, still looks even, and only looks a tiny little fuzzy around the upper lip line.
Énigmatique one pass, built up:
Here is how Énigmatique looks on me:
In case you’re curious, I have Rouge Bunny Rouge Embrace of Cashmere on the inner two thirds of my lids, Bobbi Brown Sable on the outer third and crease, as well as the lighter shade of Hourglass Dune in my inner corners, and darker shade over my lower lash line. I have Dior Capri Diorblush Cheek Creme on my cheeks.
Bottom line: If you know and love Chanel Rouge Allures, Indécise and Énigmatique are unlikely to disappoint. They share the lightweight texture and good lasting power with most others in the line. They are not particularly hydrating, but they aren’t drying, either. The slightly frosty and reflective finish is what sets them apart, which I can see some people liking and others not.
Are you more into Indécise or Énigmatique? Also, frosty: yay or nay?
