I don’t know about you, but I am never ready to say goodbye to summer. The long days, delicious fruit, sound of the ice cream truck and neighborhood kids playing on the street (occasionally one bursts out crying and the kitties look so alert/confused), and the holidays… In comparison, autumn just seems dark and sinister. I’ve been holding onto the end of summer with several coral shades in this year’s autumn collection, including Chanel Mystique Rouge Coco.
Chanel Mystique Rouge Coco (57. RRP in Belgium: 31 euros) is a medium orange coral with tiny shimmer. The finish has a pretty strong sheen. The texture of Mystique is pretty typical for a Rouge Coco. It is somehow creamy and hydrating, and it glides on with opaque coverage. Mystique lasts about 4 hours on me. I have noticed that if my lips are drier, it could sink into my lip lines (nothing a bit of lip balm beforehand wouldn’t solve though). If my lips are normal however, Mystique doesn’t need any help to look great on!
Here is how Mystique swatches (on the left):

It makes a killer pair with Présage!
Bottom line: Color-wise, what makes Chanel Mystique Rouge Coco stand out in my collection is the fact that it is a more muted coral. Therefore, it will work well when I don’t feel like attracting too much attention. At the same time, it is very sweet and pretty. If you know the formula of Rouge Coco, Mystique won’t disappoint!
PS: Mystique is permanent, so if you’re already going overboard with berries, plums, and brick reds for autumn, you can always get it next spring/summer instead!
Would you wear Mystique? What are your favorite things about autumn? I do tend to bake more in autumn, so for the moment let’s say that is my favorite thing!
