Sunday Boredom? Monday Blues? Quick Fix Is a Click Away with Parfuma!

If you don’t live in Brussels or Antwerp, getting certain brands here implies a trip to the more specialized stores. So what if you get this urge to buy some new makeup on Sunday (for those of you who don’t know, shops are closed here on Sunday with very few exceptions), or if Monday is kicking your as* so hard that you need a quick pick-me-up during lunch break? Check out the Parfuma webshop!

Parfuma online shopping

Bobbi Brown and Giorgio Armani don’t have many retail points at all in Belgium, so I really appreciate the fact that it is possible to lay my hands on them with a few clicks. I made my order on Sunday, and I received an email with the tracking number on Monday. On Tuesday morning, the postman dropped the parcel off when I was still bleary-eyed! Now that’s fast as lightening! Orders above 50 euros are eligible for free shipping in Belgium (pick two items and you’re about set), and they ship all over Europe. I don’t know about you, but free shipping always gives me a little “hurrah!” moment.

Parfuma samplesDon’t worry about missing out on the samples, either. With each other you are entitled to three samples, and you can leave a message at checkout if you want anything specific. I put “a mascara sample would be much appreciated,” and I ended up with a Shiseido mascara sample as well as two perfume vials!

Want a sneak peek of my little haul before I get the time to test them out properly?

Bobbi Brown Plum 5 Blush

This is Bobbi Brown Plum Blush (5. 28 euros). I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone. What’s more, this plummy pink looks perfect for autumn!

When I reviewed Giorgio Armani Scarlatto Rouge Ecstasy, I mentioned that I wanted Diva (503. 34,70 euros) as well. Well, here it is!

Giorgio Armani Diva 503 Rouge Ecstasy

I’d say Diva is brighter than Scarlatto. If this reminds you of Dior Darling Rouge Dior, I can already tell you they aren’t dupes at all, but more to come later!

When I first arrived in Belgium (5 years ago now!), I was a bit shocked to find out online shopping was virtually non-existent. I’m glad that so much has changed since then. Of course nothing can replace swatching something or trying it on in real life, but when that is not possible, webshops like Parfuma are the next best thing!

Do you shop online often? If so, what are some of your favorite online shopping destinations?

  • TracyBeautyReflections

That lipstick looks gorgeous! Can hardly wait to see it on you!

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Tracy, I have high hopes for this one as well! Apparently I’m really going through a pink phase ;)

  • Bella

Sunny, encouraging bad habits, tut-tut :). As if I don’t already spend every spare minute online shopping, haha. I live in the Netherlands and always buy Nars online ( since there are no counters here. For me, Nars is foolproof and I never have “errors”. I also buy from (UK, free shipping) esp brands like Edward Bess and Murad. If I am really desperate and psycho enough to pay the exorbitant shipping charge, I buy from Spacenk. Usually only limited editions that are sold out everywhere else etc.
Brands that are ubiquitous in NL, and which I have maybe already tested but not bought the first time, I get via Uhm, that’s mostly it ;). Great purchases Sunny!! I received the Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Eye Palette, Pink Coral blush and Tea Berry Lip Gloss (uhm and some more of that collection *eek*) from today! I got the last palette too; after my payment went through I checked back and it was sold out!!!!

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Bella, you’re the online shopping queen!!! I’ve bought stuff from the NARS EU site. They also ship really fast which is amazing! Beautybay is another site that I shop from often enough.

Lucky you for getting the last palette! I have the Pink Coral blush and Berry which will be reviewed soon. The palette looks lovely but I bet I already have similar shades ;)

      • Bella

I look forward to your reviews and seeing what the blushes look like on you. Yeah, I definitely didn’t buy the palette due to a lack of brown/neutral eyeshadows, but I just couldn’t resist. Even though Bobbi Brown’s last few eye palettes were so bad that I didn’t even bother swatching them. But this time I am really happy. Despite the individual shadows not being special, they give a really polished chocolatey look used together. It’s the UD Naked Basics palette for darker girls, I think!

        • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Bella, I’m glad to hear you’re liking the palette! I totally understand too. Sometimes it’s nice to have all the shades you love in one palette! I like how Bobbi Brown always throws a couple of pretty dark shades in her palette. I don’t use a lot of it, but I appreciate the definition!

  • beauties

not the kind of shades I expected you to buy :)

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Eva, really? You thought I’d get more coral? LOL I’m trying to broaden my horizon a bit ;)

  • Icaria

Oooo I can’t wait to see these on you! So true that for brands we don’t have access to, online shopping is a great option but I haven’t taken the plunge yet, too scared of not liking what I choose.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Helene, I know what you mean! Swatches always help though!

      • Icaria

So true about swatches, especially when they’re photographed with a good camera, like yours. :)

  • Sasha

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE. I usually buy my perfume (Byredo and Armani Prive) (I’m from Liege) but then I found out that they sell Armani Prive in Inno rue Neuve, and a store began to buy Byredo. But anyway, Parfuma is great the customer services are lovely, and if I ever won the lottery, this will be my first stop.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Sasha, I’m glad your favorite perfumes are becoming more easily accessible! Ditto. If I win the lottery I’ll end up buying half of the store ;)

      • Sasha

So many spelling mistakes, I’m sorry !!! (I’m just really tired)

        • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Oh it’s not a problem at all! It’s bedtime ;)

  • Liz

Nice! I remember when malls and shops were closed here on Sundays (like, 20 years ago…) but now they’re extending open hours even longer and rarely close except on Christmas Day. That says a lot about consumerist habit of each city.

I rarely buy anything online, but if I were to, prompt service/fast delivery has to be offered! These guys sound great.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liz, yeah I know what you mean. Back in Taipei I go shopping ALL THE TIME just because well, the shops are there and they’re open! There’s no avoiding them :) Here I actually spend the time to plan my purchases. It’s a good way to reduce impulse buys!

  • Lily

Dangerous!! There are many brands I don’t get here, and it’s just so, or rather TOO convenient to get it online with just a few clicks. I’m guilty of clicking away with my idle hands, so I’ve been healing myself from this addictive pastime with something more productive :-P

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Lily, ah don’t I know this problem too well! Still, it’s great to know that IF I want something, it’s available online :)

  • Krystle Kouture

I love shopping online. I think I might like it even more than in person! I like Nordstrom, Amazon, and Sephora

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Krystle, I’m OBSESSED with Amazon LOL I buy the most random things from there, including light bulbs!

  • ValleyDoll

I love plum blush shades for autumn. I only have one myself but I use it all the time during fall/winter.

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Eva, this is my first plum blush! I hope I’ll be amazed and use it all the time :)

  • Yak Man

I’m so in love with the packaging of high end lipsticks haha! I only shop for asian skincare products on ebay and clothing items haha :)

    • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Yak Man, I know what you mean ;) eBay is for sure fun as well! I’ve come very close to purchasing some outrageously-priced LE items myself LOL
