Chanel Khaki Bronze Le Volume de Chanel & My Chanel Superstition Collection Recommendations

Chanel Khaki Bronze (40) Le Volume de Chanel

Hey everyone, TGIF! Today we’re taking a quick look at the last piece from the Chanel Superstition Collection I have, Khaki Bronze Le Volume de Chanel, as well as going through my collection recommendations!

Chanel Khaki Bronze (40) Le Volume de Chanel

Chanel Le Volume is an old buddy of mine. Quite a while ago I tried Bleu and Prune (both permanent). As part of the Supersition Collection, Khaki Bronze (40. RRP in Belgium: 30,50 euros) is limited edition. Like Bleu and Prune, the grayed-out khaki of Khaki Bronze is not immediately visible on the eyes. However, the softer effect plays with the eye color and eyeshadows, which I’m sure some would really enjoy!

You see Khaki Bronze swatched on the right here:

Here is how it looks on my lashes. Clockwise from upper left: bare lashes, one coat of Khaki Bronze on upper lashes, two coats of Khaki Bronze on upper lashes and one coat on the bottom.

As you can see, the formula lengthens and volumizes well. However, it also seems to be on the wetter side (like Prune. I never had this problem with Bleu), so my lashes don’t separate as well. I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t used it enough times for it to dry out a little and become optimal though. Also, do note that mascara preferences are incredibly personal. Many people I know swear by Le Volume!

This is how Khaki Bronze looks from a normal viewing distance:

If you like the formula of Chanel Le Volume and have a thing for khaki, don’t miss out on Khaki Bronze!

After seeing all these pieces from Chanel Superstition, what are you the most interested in? I would personally recommend the cream blushes (both Affinité and Présage have become my go-tos), Mysterious Le Vernis (vampy and chic), as well as Rendez-vous Rouge Coco Shine and Mystique Rouge Coco. The lip shades might not seen revolutionary, but they’re pretty ones you can wear every day, and I always end up bonding well with those.

Did you pick anything up from Chanel Superstition Collection? I’m already getting excited about the holiday collection!

You look gorgeous Sunny :-) !

      Thanks so much, Eva :)

  • beauties

my favourites are présage and mystique!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

I know!!! I keep reaching for those two :)

  • http://kissandmakeupsbeautyblog.com/ Kiss & Make-up

I hate to be a negative nancy but the color looks kind of muddy and I think that for a high-end mascara the result should look better :-( That said, you are looking gorgeous as always, Sunny.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Melissa, I think the color is not meant to be vibrant/straight khaki if you know what I mean! But I get your point :)

  • Bella

Lovely round-up and review! I bought the Khaki Bronze mascara sight unseen and regret it. It just doesn’t really show up. My favourites from the collection are the eyeshadow quad, blush in Affinite and Presage (snap! LOL), Rouge Coco Shine in Esprit and Rouge Coco in Icone. Oh, and I ADORE the Khaki Precieaux (sp??!!!) eyeliner; it’s soft and really gorgeous both as a base for the eyeshadows as for the lower lashline.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Bella, aww I’m so sorry to hear you don’t love it! I was looking at Esprit as well, but I have Suspense and apparently those two are somehow similar. The liner is also really tempting! Great picks!

  • Qtplace

Wow I love the color! I was looking for a mascara that will give your face a softer look. I tried brown mascara but it looks kind of black to me when I apply it on my lashes. I will try Khaki mascara now to see if it will give my face a softer look! :D Thanks for this blog post! :)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey girly, you’re welcome! I’d love to know what you think about this one!

  • http://eyeheartit.blogspot.com Larie

I like mascara that goes BOOM if i have to wear it (I’m liking it more lately since I found a tubing formula that doesn’t smear, but I still don’t wear it daily), so brown mascara just doesn’t do it for me. But you look lovely as always :)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks, Larie! I find that since I use quite a bit of eyeliner, it’s OK if my mascara isn’t black black. However, it’s true that I just reach for black 99% of the time: it’s easier!

  • TracyBeautyReflections

It’s a neat colour! I loved the Bleu one. This one is a bit hard to see the colour-but I love khaki so I am torn LOL.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Tracy, it’s softer than black. I also think it’ll pair well with more colors than the blue ones, but that’s probably because of my eye color and the eyeshadows in my stash :)

  • rachlovespenguins

I know that some are finding this colour boring but all I can say is that I wish they would make it permanent.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Rach, I know! I don’t think it’s boring at all. It’d be a great addition to the permanent collection. Let’s hope Chanel comes around ;)

  • http://www.iseemakeup.net/ Lauren See

It’s unfortunate that the color doesn’t really translate onto the lashes – it looks gorgeous on the wand! I had to open my tube of the regular Le Volume and then leave it alone for a few weeks before it got to be ‘perfect’

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Lauren, I actually like how you can’t see it’s “colored” straight away! The summer ones are just too bold for me! I know that most mascaras need some time. Perhaps I didn’t give this one enough time yet!

  • Dominique33

I picked up Inspiration, Révélation, RCS Esprit and Rendez-vous and the quad Mysterious. As I also purchased some items from le Moiré, I passed on the other items and khaki is not my colour at all. I love le Volume though, it’s a classy mascara, very easy to apply and wear.
Thank you for your recommendations, my wishlist for the Holiday collection :) : the loose powder, the blush, the Ombres Matelassées ( it looks gorgeous ! ) and the nail polish. No lippies, I have too many. (But the Givenchy lipstick in pink would be worth the splurge ! :) )

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Dominique, you certainly did a good haul! From what I can see for the moment, I am really looking forward to the holiday collection. Let’s hope everything is as nice as it seems in the promo images!

  • http://buyingcrueltyfree.com/ Catherine

I love the color of the mascara, though I’m not sure it’s really a shade I’d choose for my mascara, I’d love it as an eyeshadow haha

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Catherine, I actually think you can pull it off! But I personally go for black 99% of the time as well. It’s just a no-brainer!

  • Jacqueline Ma

I finally got my Revelation and Presage and I am loving them. Been wearing them all this week. I also got the Mystere palette. Lovely the textures on that one. It applies soft and blends well.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Oh yay I’m glad to hear that! The cream blushes have pretty much become my go-tos!

  • http://www.abeautifulzen.blogspot.ca/ jenn @Abeautifulzen

what a lovely eye look! i dont konw.. i always just stick with the standard black mascaras and never really venture out. this definitely is more on the wet side which i don’t tend to enjoy.

i’m getting excited about xmas collections too!! i have been saving up a lot of sephora gift cards so i’ll hopefully be able to get one or two really nice items :)
    jenn

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks, Jenn! I reach for black 99% of the time because it’s easy and it always works! I’d love to see what you end up picking up!

  • Lily

I prefer black mascara because my eyes need it. LOL! I haven’t been feeling it from Chanel lately. I was excited about the cream blush but I’m kinda “meh” at the moment, for unknown reasons. Haha!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Lily, I always use quite a bit of eyeliner so a lighter mascara is fine on me! The cream blushes are really not meh at all! They stay put so much better than even most powder blushes. It’s amazing!

  • AB

    Love your eye makeup :)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

      Thanks so much, AB!

  • http://www.nailsandcupcakes.com/ Isabelle

I’ve never really tried a brown mascara.. I think it wouldn’t work for me since my eyebrows & hair are quite dark and I need some more darkness around the eyes to really make them pop out. Otherwise I look like I’m asleep while walking around ;-)
It does look so wet though! I don’t think I would like it.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Isabelle, since I always use quite a bit of eyeliner, a slightly-lighter mascara looks fine on me (I think, haha). Maybe I didn’t give it enough time to dry out a little. In my experience it always takes a while for the formula to become optimal, but this one is limited edition so I didn’t want to wait too long!

  • Strawbry_Blonde

Oh I think I love this!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Check it out ASAP, Nic! The holiday collection is rolling out soon, and they might put the autumn display away!
