Estelle & Thild Facial Serum Rose Otto & Facial Oil Rose Otto

Estelle & Thild Facial Oil Rose Otto, Facial Serum Rose Otto

There is always space in my cabinet for good, organic skincare products. Especially when the products contain rose, you really won’t have to try too hard to get me on board! Estelle & Thild is an organic skincare brand originated from Stockholm. The founder, Pernilla Rönnberg, wanted to make products she deems safe enough for her daughters to use. The girls are called Estelle and Mathilde, hence the name for the company. Estelle & Thild has several lines, and I received the Facial Serum and Facial Oil in the Rose Otto (Advanced Age Prevent) line to try out (when you are 29 and a half, you know it’s a good idea to start)!

Estelle & Thild Facial Serum Rose Otto review

Both Facial Serum Rose Otto and Facial Oil Rose Otto come in clear glass bottles with a pump. The pump doesn’t dispense a lot of product in one go, and most of the time I can use two or even three pumps for my face and neck.

Estelle & Thild Facial Serum Rose Otto (30ml/1.06 oz. It goes for roughly 56 euros, but I don’t have the exact local RRP) promises to deliver a boost of vitamins and antioxidants to make the skin soft, firm, and radiant. The texture is on the thin and runny side, and it has a lovely herbal/flowery smell that you just can tell is natural. I usually pat in the amount of two pumps in the morning. It is absorbed into the skin in an instant (it does contain alcohol, which helps). It hydrates well, but the best part is it makes my skin look smooth and “awake,” which doesn’t happen too often in the morning otherwise!

It is hard for me to pinpoint what this serum does, but it perks my skin up and makes it look toned. Instead of a bit tired and “bleh”-looking in the morning, it allows me to put my best face forward (I suppose those vitamins and antioxidants do work)!

If the Facial Serum Rose Otto is good, the Facial Oil Rose Otto has definitely made my all-time top three dry oils!

Estelle & Thild Facial Oil Rose Otto review

Estelle & Thild Facial Oil Rose Otto (30ml/1.06 oz. It goes for around 55 euros) smells like roses, which wins it major bonus point in my book! I would never ever encourage you to base your skincare purchase decisions solely on how something smells, and nor do I do this. However, smell is an important part in the skincare ritual. I am annoyingly good at discerning natural smells from synthetic ones, and there are natural smells I am not as big of a fan of. All I am going to say is, so far I have tried many dry oils that work well. Therefore, sometimes the scent plays an important role in my repurchase decision. Estelle & Thild Facial Oil Rose Otto is definitely something I would love to repurchase!

The lightweight oil is substantial enough to give me the satisfaction of using an oil, but it is absorbed very easily by the skin. I prefer to layer a lotion on top, even a very basic one will serve the purpose. Sometimes I even mix a pump of the oil with the Facial Serum Rose Otto in the morning: it is divine! My skin is supple and plump with this oil. While I might not see much difference beyond that on my face, I can tell from the skin on my neck that it is significantly tightening. All in all, it’s a winner!

The only minor concern I have with this oil is the “essential oils” listed at the end of the ingredient list. While I don’t experience any discomfort or allergic reaction to this product, I do know that some can’t tolerate certain essential oils in their skincare products. It would be better if Estelle & Thild could list the essential oils clearly.

Bottom line: I have discovered a new skincare brand that I would love to look into! I am very happy to have Estelle & Thild Facial Serum and Facial Oil Rose Otto in my skincare routine. Both are memorably good products that I would happily use up and even repurchase!

Have you tried anything from Estelle & Thild? They have an adorable line of tinted lip balms that I think will be lovely in those Christmas stockings!

PS: Great news for the Belgians: Estelle & Thild is available (exclusively) at Senteurs d’Ailleurs! I’ll definitely be checking out the other products there soon!

I’ve never heard of this brand but it sounds wonderful! I’ve got a new found respect for these organic skincare lines lately. They are getting really GOOD.

Hey Tracy, same here! I used not to like “organic” brands much, because it seemed like they had to sacrifice the texture. Not anymore! Now many organic brands make products with great ingredients AND textures!

I love the story of how this company is started, having 2 girls myself. :) I have not yet bought any of the dry face oils you recommended. Very soon, as current serum is running out soon. :) And this rose scented one might very well go with my current Melvita rose water toner… hehehe :D

Aww I bet your girls are adorable! You can actually layer a dry oil over your serum as well. If you like rose, I’d also recommend bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil. Both of these are really good!

  • Memoiselle

Wow another face oil! I love rose smell so this definitely would be one of the oil on my wish list ;)
I agree that smell should not be the reason for us to buy face oil but smell is always on my consideration.

Yup I can’t get my hands off face oils LOL You should check this out! If you like rose, the bodhi Desert Rose one is really good as well!

I know you are an oil lover, Sunny, so to hear that this oil is in your top three must mean a lot!

This really is my top three! Other ones I REALLY like including the Aesop Parsley Seed one and the bodhi Desert Rose one!

Facial oils intrigue me but I always hold back from buying. It’s that fear that just never dies, even though there probably isn’t anything to be scared of :-P

Hey Lily, you should see if you can get some sample packets! I’d like to think there is a formula or two out there for everyone :)

  • http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.ca/ Liz

    They look and sound AMAZING!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liz, they really are! If I had to pick one I’d pick the oil though!

Hhmm its a bit of a weird way of naming the ingredients list. (ok, a secret: at the moment I’m in the cosmetic industry and I’ve made tons of packaging) What is weird is that they have the INCI listed below, which is what in the EU you write as “Ingredients”, and there you put the complete ingredient list in INCI format. Its weird because the INCI doesn’t state any extra essential oil.
Ok, even though they are ECOCERT and organic etc,.. its amazing how they haven’t added any silicones to all that oil, because normally it would just make you oily. Also, silicone haters will also be happy!
The packaging is nice! I’ve never seen this brand but it looks nice and even though the “legal” wording of the ingredients is strange, I’m impressed with the formula!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Sofia, wow thanks for all the insight!

I have actually tried several silicone-free face oils, and I think that’s what makes me love them so much! I don’t get that much of a greasy feeling either. That or I tolerate it well at nighttime, which is usually when I use face oils. You should take a look at the brand!

Recently I was REALLY low on money and debts were eating me from all sides! That was UNTIL I decided to make money.. on the internet! I went to surveymoneymaker dot net, and started filling in surveys for cash, and surely I’ve been far more able to pay my bills!! I’m so glad, I did this!! With all the financial stress these years, I really hope all of you will give it a chance. – 8szv
