I might be one very late in jumping on the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair bandwagon, but boy am I not glad I did! This legendary little brown bottle has existed for 31 years (!!!), and the latest generation, Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II, hit the market not so long ago.
In essence, ANR (RRP in Belgium: 112,76 euros for 50ml) is powerful antioxidant/hydrating serum. The new formula purifies and protects the skin from pollution on top of fighting free radicals and providing hydration. The serum is fragrance-free (I use it for my eye area as well), and the consistency is a little thick. I always use a generous dose of 4-5 drops every night after cleansing my face. I drip the serum onto my palm, bring my hands together, and pat it onto my face/neck. It absorbs pretty fast. Afterwards, the skin might be a tiny bit tacky, though it depends on the humidity/skin type. For example, during a long-haul flight not so long ago, I discovered that I can double or even triple my usual dose, and my skin would suck it right in! Layer a moisturizer on top (sandwich a dry oil in between if you want), and your skin is ready to enjoy some serious beauty sleep!
I know that remedying damage done during daytime or fighting free radical damage are really elusive concepts, and the result can’t be measured as accurately. However, here is what I have experienced: ANR instantly delivers a good amount of hydration to my skin so that it is plump and supple. It also brightens and smooths the skin. I am blessed not to have sleeping problems, but even then, I can definitely see that my skin is healthier with this serum than without.
I have been using it daily for three months now, and I am simply unwilling to part with it. I ask for sample packets of this serum whenever I can, , just so that I can take them on trips. If you are a frequent flyer, this is something you need to pack in your clear plastic bag. With the terribly drying recycled air and fitful sleep, ANR is a good bet if you want your skin to still look somehow presentable after 12+ hours.
What I love the most about ANR is the fact that I really haven’t found one single product that is comparable. What’s more, it does everything it does without being comedoenic. While I can see my beloved dry oils don’t necessarily work for everyone, this is a serum I would recommend to a wide age as well as skin type range. As for the price, I have been using a generous dose of my 50ml (1.7 oz) bottle every night for about 3 months by now, and only about a third is gone. This means a bottle can be reasonably expected to last 6+ months, and there is always a sale somewhere/opportunity to do some duty free shopping.
Here is the ingredient list:
Bottom line: I would absolutely urge just about everyone to try Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II. Even if you have great skin without any particular concerns, this serum will still make it better. You will see me repurchase this when my bottle runs out!
Have you tried anything from the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair line? Are you just as impressed?
