My pal Tracy tagged me a while ago in her 5-product face post. It’s such a fun idea that I decided to make it my first “tag” post! This is actually pretty much my everyday/errand-running face (on a good day. You could also catch me with just my brows and some lip color), which makes it extra fun to share! I somehow failed by using 6 products at the end. In my defense, it is because my lips are too pigmented! Read on to find out what happened.
First thing first: good skin is pretty much everything. I bought the Clé de Peau Concealer (my shade is Ocher) when I was in Taipei, and I have been rather obsessed with it! I will review it soon. For the moment, let me just say I love how this works like a Photoshop healing brush! Chanel Vitalumière Compact Douceur has become my go-to, especially on lower-key days. It’s easy to apply, easy to touch up on, and it gives the skin a bit of a healthy sheen!
As much as I love eyeshadows and eyeliners, when it comes to a basic look, they are the first to go in my book. My Hourglass Soft Brunette Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil on the other hand, is an absolute must. I also like how Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara opens my eyes a little!
Last but not least, let’s pop some color back on the face! Initially I planned to use Le Métier de Beauté Coral Nymph Crème Fresh Tint for both my cheeks and lips. Alas, as I had minimal eye makeup on, it drained all the color from my face when I put it on my lips! As an emergency measure, I reached for my lipstick of the year, Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme (I twisted it all the way up here just so you can see it really has been getting a lot of love). Again, it saved the day!
Here is how the two swatch. Left: Coral Nymph. Right: Spring Ball.
I usually reach for cream blushes for low-key days, as the good ones are very easy to blend in and I won’t have to take out/wash an extra brush. Some other favorites include Chanel Présage, and Chanel Affinité.
Here is the final look:
What would your 5-product face be?
