Sisley Beige Rosé Phyto Lip Gloss Packs a Lot of TLC for the Lips!

Sisley Beige Rosé Phyto Lip Gloss FOTD

Up until very recently, I didn’t know much about Sisley, especially not their makeup. Apparently every piece in the relatively small line-up is supposed to provide skincare benefits with botanical extracts. For example, their Phyto Lip Gloss boasts ingredients such as shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and padina pavonica extract (an alga found in the Meditteranean). Let’s take a look at *Beige Rosé, a healthy-looking nude!

I personally like the clean and luxurious-looking packaging. It has a nice heft, too!

Sisley Phyto Lip Gloss comes with a little brush applicator that is not unlike the Dior one. I don’t have a preference for either brush-tip or doe-foot applicators, and this one works pretty well. The consistency of Beige Rosé is on the thicker side, and it is very opaque. Despite the thickness, it is not gloopy, tacky, or sticky on the lips. The only thing I would advice you to do is paint your bottom lip and rub your lips together instead of painting both. Personally, I think there is a little too much product when I paint both, though it doesn’t ooze out of natural lip lines or move around.

Here is how Beige Rosé swatches:

It is really pretty much a rosy beige. It is slightly lighter than my natural lip shade, but the rosiness stops it from washing me out.

Here is how it looks on my lips:

I actually never noticed the tiny bit of milkiness sinking into lip lines till I was editing this photo, and trust me I was observing my lips very closely! Suffice to say within the normal viewing distance, it looks nice and smooth.

Beige Rosé lasts for 4.5-5 hours on me. It resists to some drinking, but not food. The formula truly is hydrating as promised! It pretty much works as a lip balm!

Here you see Beige Rosé “in context.” I have Hourglass Dune Visionaire Duo on my eyes (but I can’t remember what I used on my cheeks…):

Bottom line: Sisley Beige Rosé Phyto Lip Gloss goes for around 35 euros a pop here (6ml/0.20 oz). Let’s just say it is not on the budget-friendly side. The consistency is thick, but it is never gloopy, tacky, or sticky. On top of that, it does hydrate really well. If your lips are constantly dry or extremely picky, this might be a formula worth looking into!

Have you tried any Sisley makeup?

Looks like a great nude! But OUCH the price lol! I have such a problem paying lotsa monies for gloss though. I think it’s because I don’t use them often enough!

Hey Tracy, same here actually. Although I know some people who have problems with most lip products drying their lips out. In that case perhaps it’s worth it.

  • Bella

Very pretty and soft on you, would also be great with a smokey eye. I used to use many products from the Sisley skin care range, was perfectly prepared to fork out for those and would highly recommend them if you find something that suits your skin type. I wouldn’t pay that for makeup though. Plus, I’ve tried their foundations (samples) and bronzers and it was all too terribly orange!!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks so much, Bella! So what are some of their skincare products you would recommend? I’ve tried a sachet of their much raved-about Express Flower Gel Mask but didn’t really get what all the hoopla is about!

      • Bella

I really love the Sisleya Eye and Lip Contour Cream, I credit it for the fact that at 45 I still have no deep lines around my eyes. I also loved Creme Reparatrice, especially if skin gets reddish and irritated during winter (blustering winds, skiing anyone?) . The other product I used on a daily basis for years was Sisleya Global anti-Ageing cream, but I wouldn’t recommend this for someone of your age, you just don’t need it. I adore their foaming cleanser, but really at 75 euros it’s an unnecessary splurge. And I once used one of their serums: it cost a ridiculous amount of money and it was good, but I now love Advanced Night Repair as much. I think that’s about it; the eye cream and creme reparatrice would be best at your age.

WAIT WHAT no way! I thought you’re MUCH younger because you look so young in your profile pic! Now I’m SO intrigued by the eye cream! Will have to ask for a sample next time I’m in the store :)

          • Bella

Oh blush :p!!! I should have kept my big mouth shut. Thanks Sunny :).

  • beautiesatwork

a really soft colour :) congrats on the new lay-out!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks, Eva! I’m glad you like it!

  • Diana

That’s a really pretty, soft colour that looks great on you!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks so much, Diana! I’m sure it’ll look great on you as well!

  • liyeun

Hmmm…the formula sounds convincing. I have never found anything that cares for my lips as much as Clarins’ lipgloss. I wonder if our local counters have this lip gloss here, but I will not consider this shade though. I will look dead. Hehehe.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liyeun, I haven’t tried much from Clarin’s at all, but I’ve heard great things about their lip products in general. I’m pretty sure there is a Sisley counter or two around? Good luck hunting one down!

I love it when a pretty lip color also works like a lip balm in term of hydration! And this one is sooooo glossy!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Melissa, I agree! It’s always good when a lip product is hydrating instead of sucking all the moisture out!

  • http://eyeheartit.blogspot.com Larie

It’s a lovely shade! I think I’ll stick to my Dior, though, especially since this is so $$$!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Yeah I think if you get along really well with a formula or two, you might not have to invest so much in a gloss!

  • http://papayapieces.com/ Sofia

I’ve never gone anywhere near Sisley cosmetics because of the price. It’s good to know its ultra hydrating though – hydration in lip glosses and lipsticks is a MUST for me!
PS Need to say again that I looove your new blog design.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Sofia, yeah I know. The price is ouchy ouch ouch. I think this formula is better treated as a “last resort,” for example if everything else dries your lips out! Thanks again! I’m really happy with it despite the fact that I’ve had to spend some time trying to figure out how to resize my photos right ;)

  • http://buyingcrueltyfree.com/ Catherine

OMG LOVE YOUR NEW LAYOUT! So gorgeous. You’re exactly on my wavelength with layout design. :) I haven’t tried Sisley, I don’t think I’ve even seen it around here. I do like the healthy shade of pink of that gloss

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Aww thanks, Catherine! I have no idea how available Sisley is in the US, but both here and back home it’s just about everywhere!

  • http://beautyandtheeyeliner.wordpress.com/ Natalie

This lip color is really pretty on you! And I love hydrating lippes. That eye shadow duo is gorgeous! Those colors are really flattering on you.

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks so much, Natalie! I would personally love the darker shade of Dune to be more green. I have the feeling that once I blend it out, it becomes an indistinguishable blob of gray! I do seriously love it on the lower lash line though. That’s when you see a hint of green and some antique-gold shimmer!

  • Icaria

I’ve never tried Sisley makeup, in fact way back when I used some of their skin care they didn’t have makeup or at least it wasn’t available in Canada if they had. With all the options out there I’m not sure I would go for it but who know? The color is lovely and so quite tempting… :)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Helene, did you like their skincare? I know that’s what they’re more famous for!

      • Icaria

Way back when I did use some of their products especially SS (which had pretty low SPF). I think the only thing I would consider repurchasing is the Flower Mask because that one I loooved. The rest was pretty much ordinary but the textures were beautiful.

        • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

I know a lot of people rave about that one (including Lisa Eldridge), but I tried a sample and couldn’t really notice a big difference!

  • http://redhotjillypeppers.com/ Redhotjillypeppers

I really like this gloss and the way it hydrates my lips. Your site looks great by the way !

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Glad to hear you find it hydrating, too! Thanks, Jill!

  • Lily

Love the look on you, Sunny… and I haven’t tried anything from Sisley either. Maybe one day… :-)

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Thanks, Lily! My mom got this little travel set of their skincare products this summer and she gave it to me. I’m saving it for future trips though ;)

  • http://beautyreductionista.blogspot.ca/ Liz

Once in a while, something from Sisley would catch my eye, but it’s a brand I mostly associate with skincare. Nice to see a review on the gloss though!

    • http://mostlysunnyblog.com/ Sunny @Mostly Sunny

Hey Liz, I know what you mean! For me some brands are more for skincare, and others are more for makeup. I don’t think I’ve found a brand that does both equally well in my book!
