Great news, everyone! If you have always wished Chanel would start releasing one version of their Les 4 Ombres, Chanel has heard us. The new Les 4 Ombres have a hybrid texture that is smooth, lightweight, and intensely pigmented. They are inspired by the tissue of the iconic tweed jacket in the sense that the four shades work together in harmony. Also, there are several different color placements you can try, so they are very versatile! Let’s take a quick look at *Tissé Vendôme Les 4 Ombres, *Tissé Gabrielle Les 4 Ombres, *Tissé Cambon Les 4 Ombres, Vert Grisé Le Volume, and *Smoky Grey Stylo Yeux Waterproof today!
In terms of packaging and price (RRP in Belgium: 50 euros. Availability: 3rd March), the new Les 4 Ombres are no different from their predecessors. The new generation contains 2 grams (0.07 oz) of product each. Since the eyeshadows appear to have the same volume, I am going to assume it is because the texture is much more lightweight.
Chanel Tissé Vendôme Les 4 Ombres (204) reminds me quite a bit of Quadrille in terms of color combination. However, since the finish and level of pigmentation are significantly different, it would most probably produce a very different effect!
The swatches are pretty much done with one pass! The new texture is amazingly smooth, and the eyeshadow glides onto the skin with no effort whatsoever!
Next up, we have my personal favorite, Tissé Gabrielle (208). It was used on the annual Métiers d’Art show in Dallas, Texas at the end of last year. I have a hunch that this one is going to be pretty popular!
Again, the quality is eye-opening! Can you imagine how pretty of a smokey eye it can create?
If you crave for fun colors, you might just find them in Tissé Cambon (228)!
The lightest shade here isn’t as quite intensely pigmented as the rest, but it won’t be much of a setback for me personally, since I will only use it in my inner corners. The taupe has some pretty micro-glitter. I’m hoping the hybrid texture will help it stay put!
Fans of colored mascara will get a kick out of Vert Grisé Le Volume (30. RRP in Belgium: 31,50). This limited edition darkened forest green could be a lot of fun!
The other limited edition item in the collection (everything else is permanent from what I can see) is Smoky Grey Stylo Yeux Waterproof (905).
It looks more like a dirty, grayed-out olive green to me. It is also pretty soft for a Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof!
For those of you who are curious, here is the ingredient list of the new formula:
What’s your first impression of the new formula? I’ll show you some different looks with the suggested placements as soon as I can! Just so you know though, I came down with a cold last night, so that might have to wait till my eyes are less watery!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
