You’ve got to admit this: Chanel does the most covet-worthy nail polishes with each of their collections! Reflets D’Été de Chanel is no exception. I’ve got Mirabella, Eastern Light, and Tutti Frutti to show you! I also made an attempt to recreate the outline manicure in the promo image. Come find out if this manicure novice managed!
First up, we have Eastern Light (613). Eastern Light is an opaque white. The consistency leans thick, and it could look so on the nails. I would strongly recommend a base coat underneath this shade to make the nails even, as otherwise it could be rather streaky.
On top of a base coat, you can get a relatively even finish with two coats of Eastern Light. I don’t really see myself wearing it on its own, but I do really love the outline manicure I recreated with it!
Next up, we have Mirabella (623). Mirabella is a yellow-based orange with a cream finish. The consistency is spot-on, and it is completely opaque with two coats.
Now onto the manicure I created with these two!
First, I did two coats of Eastern Light/Mirabella as base.
After the base has completely dried, I proceeded to painting my nails with a different color. Depending on the shade you choose, you might need one or two coats. With Mirabella, one normal coat would do the trick. With Eastern Light or a less saturated color, either you’ll need two, or you’ll need a thicker coat.
Here is the result!
I probably didn’t do a perfect job, but hopefully it’s passable! I’ve tried it on my right hand as well. It’s trickier, but not impossible to achieve.
I saved the best for last with Tutti Frutti (621)!
Tutti Frutti is as pink coral with a fine dusting of golden shimmer. The shimmer is visible on the nails when you look at the nails under the light closeup, but otherwise not so much. Again, you can get it to look 100% opaque and smooth with two coats!
It’s a beauty, wouldn’t you agree?
All in all, I am a big fan of the vibrant Mirabella and Tutti Frutti. Eastern Light is fun for manicures. I just don’t know if I am fashion-forward enough to wear it on its own!
How about you? What nail polishes have you been loving this summer? Would you wear white on your nails?
