I like to pretend I don’t use a lot of hair products, but like I said, it’s just pretending. I use a pre-shampoo treatment for my scalp, another pre-shampoo treatment for my hair, shampoo, pre-treatment treatment (I know it sounds ridiculous, but it really works), mask, leave-in conditioner, and a curl-enhancing product. When I’m running out of time, traveling, or feeling flat-out lazy, I need some shortcuts. Today you are meeting two of those shortcut products that save me both time and space, namely *Joico K-Pak Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor and Phyto Phytocurl!
Joico K-Pak Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor is one of the star products from the brand. It promises to repair and strengthen hair, and apparently many hairdressers absolutely swear by this.
The consistency of Joico K-Pak isn’t as thick and creamy as I thought it would be. In fact, it feels pretty lightweight for an intensive treatment. It smells like coconut, which I adore! The beauty of Joico K-Pak is the fact that I can skip pre-shampoo treatment, pre-treatment treatment, and leave-in conditioner when I use it! It really doesn’t take that long to get the job done, either. If you need to see a miracle in 5 minutes, it’s THE thing for it.
However, I also have to point out that Joico K-Pak Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor works better for thicker hair that is really damaged. If you have fine hair or if your hair isn’t in serious need of some TLC, this could end up weighing your hair down. Even with my hair (thick, long, chemically-treated), I can’t use this as my go-to treatment. If I use it continuously, it starts weighing my hair down at some point.
All in all, Joico K-Pak Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor is a great product to have around when you’re in a pinch, especially if you have thicker and damaged hair. Those who don’t might at least want to dose it carefully.
After I ran out of my last bottle of curl-enhancing mousse, I wanted to try something new. I had zero loyalty when it comes to a curl-enhancing product, but I think I have found the one in Phyto Phytocurl Curl Energizing Cream!
Why does it impress me so much? In short, it is a curl-enhancing product as well as a leave-in conditioner!
Phyto Phytocurl Curl Energizing Cream has a “sticky” texture when you pump it out. I suppose it’s the collagen that gives it such a texture, but don’t be scared, as it doesn’t feel sticky in the hair. You use it like any leave-in conditioner, spreading it out on towel-dried hair. I always blow dry with a diffuser, but I think it’ll work even if you let it air dry, as my curls are much more defined and bouncy the second I work this in! Most reviews I’ve read about this product are written by ladies who have naturally curly hair, but I can tell you it works just as fine for man-made curls. My hair is nourished and curly without the whole load of cone that you often see in leave-in conditioners: what more can a girl hope for?
If you have curly hair and you’re looking into a curl-enhancing product that actually does your hair good, I highly recommend Phyto Phytocurl Curl Energizing Cream. It’s without a doubt holy grail material in my book!
