I thank my mama for a lot of things, but these hereditary thin and peeling nails ain’t one of them. The fact that I live in a colder, drier country where the water is way hard doesn’t help, either. I have largely come to terms with that, and I am pretty good about not buying nail polishes because I don’t wear often enough. In fact, I counted only two Dior Vernis this year, before I was properly introduced to Rescue Beauty Lounge.
After the first successful batch, I knew they wouldn’t be my last. When the R29 (Refinery 29) + Rescue Beauty Lounge Collection came out, I quickly grabbed Sunny Skies and Pretty Gritty. I also took the opportunity to scoop up “the one that got away,” namely Small Dim, Summer Stars from A Poem Collection. Feast your eyes on their epic goodness!
I developed a soft spot for teal nail polishes with Dior Saint-Tropez. In fact, I’m halfway through my bottle and slightly freaking out about it. While I am not obsessed with the idea of finding a dupe yet, another teal looks like a great idea!
Enters Rescue Beauty Lounge Sunny Skies! Sunny Skies is a medium teal with more green than blue on me, although I have seen it pulling more blue on some. You need two coats for opacity, and the formula is a joy to work with. One little reminder: you might want to layer Sunny Skies over a base coat, as it stains a little.
I had thought I’d reserve it for summertime, but the second I put it on, that plan went out the window. It’s so amazing that I really don’t care about being seasonally-appropriate anymore!
Pretty Gritty was the shade I was looking forward to the most, and it doesn’t disappoint.
I am big on purple, but I am also very picky about the purples I wear. Rescue Beauty Lounge managed to create a shade of purple that is unique and I can’t get enough of! Pretty Gritty is a dusty medium mauvy purple with a generous dose of gold shimmer. The finish isn’t very glossy on its own, but a top coat (which I always use) can fix that.
Admit it: you want it!
It remains a mystery why I missed out on Small Dim, Summer Stars when I made my order last time, but now it’s mine!
Small Dim, Summer Stars is an extremely blackened teal with silver sparkle that reminds you of the milky way.
Right on time for autumn/winter!
Again, I am beyond impressed with these Rescue Beauty Lounge creations. If you like unique nail polishes, I’d highly recommend all three of them!
PS: Rescue Beauty Lounge is running a 30% off deal on their gift cards from the 8th till the 12th. Why not spoil that nail polish fanatic in your life, or better yet, yourself?!
