Have you wondered what’s in my bag? If so, you are in for a treat today because I am finally spilling it for the Beauty Spotlight Team! Up until now, I have been way too lazy to photograph the stuff I drag around, but it is time!
I am a one-bag woman. I seem to stick to a bag for a couple of years before moving on to the next. For the moment, I carry a Rebecca Minkoff Cupid. I don’t think they make this style anymore, which is sad because I really love it! Never mind. Hopefully you’ll find the content more interesting!
The Survival Essentials…
1. Wallet
Rebecca Minkoff Studded Wallet on a Chain (I was really on a RM kick last year). Again, they have discontinued it, but I love it because it functions as a wallet and a small shoulder bag. For supermarket runs, I slip my iPhone in it, put the chain on, and carry it on my shoulder.
2. Gloves
Karen Millen Perforated Gloves (they might still be available). I wanted a black pair of gloves, and I find the details fascinating!
3. Umbrella
Growing up in Taipei and living in Belgium, I learnt early in my life that the weather is not to be trusted.
4. Water Bottle
I drink a lot of water. A lot of water. I get dehydrated very easily so I don’t really have a choice, but it’s great because I think this is part of the reason why I don’t have dry and chapped lips!
The Bits and Bobs…
1. Kleenex Balsam Fresh
As a life-long allergy sufferer, I can’t live without a pack of Kleenex. I love the Balsam Fresh version because the mintiness helps unblock my nose a little!
2. Gum
3. Keys
The key chain was a gift with purchase from Rouge Bunny Rouge, and the red thing is my supermarket loyalty card.
4. Oil-Blotting Sheets
I still pick up oil-blotting sheets when I am in Taipei, because you don’t find the “plastic/rubbery” kind that I love over here. It is much more resilient and absorbent than the actual paper variation.
5. Pen
6. iPhone 5
I am never ever without it nowadays. The game you see on the screen is my latest addiction, Line Disney Tsum Tsum! This thing is seriously fun! I should show you the Tsum Tsum plushies I have soon as well (most probably on Instagram).
Finally, my makeup bag!
For someone who has quite a stash, I carry a surprisingly and perhaps disappointingly small amount of makeup in my makeup bag. The reason behind this is my “if you don’t stay, you don’t play” rule. I will powder my nose and reapply lipstick, but for the rest, once I am done in the morning, it has to last!
The bag itself is a gift-with-purchase one from Dior. I sometimes wonder if I should get a “nice” makeup bag, but then I look at all the gift with purchase ones I own and scratch that idea.
1. The Body Shop Coconut Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer
The thought of having unclean hands makes me cringe!
2. Band-aid
3. Dior Aventure Addict Extreme
4. Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme (discontinued)
These are the only “regulars” in my makeup bag. I will throw in the shade I decide to wear on a particular day, but it is always promptly returned to my IKEA ALEX afterwards. These two are there because they are failproof.
5. Feminine Hygiene Products
I got the case for free a few years ago. Admitted it is not the most aesthetically-pleasing one, but it works.
Best cuticle treatment I have ever tried!
I am sensing a theme here… Before you ask, nobody paid me to put so much Dior stuff in my makeup bag (if you must know, nobody ever pays me to write anything). I guess the brand/formulas just resonate well with me!
I have really dry hands, so hand cream is a must in my bag. This is the last tube I still have from the holiday set in 2013. I am still waiting for them to make these scents permanent!
9. Aesop Ginger Flight Therapy
For headaches, dizziness, and nausea, this aromatherapy roll-on works like a charm!
10. Tiny Nail Clipper
I will so freak out if a nail splits/breaks and I can’t cut it off immediately!
11. Guerain Les Voilettes Translucent Compact Powder
I love the “ballz,” but for mattifying my oily T-zone, Les Voilettes is the one!
Phew. I hope I have satisfied your curiosity! What are some of the “fun” things you carry around in your bag? Are you addicted to some kind of game for the moment?
