Hey everyone! I have a special guest, namely my buddy Isabelle from Minnebelle, reviewing one of the first autumn collections for you today. Bobbi Brown Telluride collection is all about tawny, brownish shades that I can’t seem to pull off but look great on this beauty. Without further ado, let’s check it out!
When Sunny asked me if I wanted to take care of the review about Bobbi Brown’s gorgeous Telluride collection, I didn’t hesitate one bit.. I am a sucker for warm neutral shades and I’m madly in love with anything Colorado (serious travel goals for 2016!), so this one was a match made in heaven. The collection is inspired by one of Bobbi’s favourite holiday destinations: Telluride in Colorado. The sky at sunset there is just beautiful and the light leaves a gorgeous glow on people’s faces. Bobbi wrote a blog about it back in 2013 (read it here), already brought out a Telluride Glow set back then & now a full blown Telluride collection is launching.
The collection features a beautiful Eye Palette, a Shimmer Brick, three Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks and three Lip Trio’s that consist of a Sheer Lip Color, a Lip Pencil & a Lip Gloss. I got the Telluride Pot Rouge & the Twilight Glow Lip Trio. The shades all work together to create a beautiful sun kissed glow. Sunny also threw in another Sheer Lip Color in the shade Pink Buff, which isn’t part of this collection (it is permanently available though) but could just as well have been as the shade is so fitting: somewhere between a pink and brown.
In all these pictures I am wearing the Pot Rouge in the shade Telluride on my cheeks – it looks a little too brown for a blusher in the pot but when applied (I use a big stippling brush) it’s just perfect! I like to extend the colour to my temples for even more definition to obtain that perfect sun kissed complexion. The effect is beautiful: it looks like I’ve been sipping margaritas on a beach the past few weeks, but in reality I’ve been kicking it at the office. You can build up the colour as you please by adding more or less product: just remember to always start out with less as it’s easier to add than to take away. Pot Rouges are just perfect for anyone who loves an easy peasy cream blush that makes you glow; and don’t forget it can also be used on the lips!
The Lip Trio in Twilight contains three full size lip products: a Lip Pencil in the shade Bobbi, a Sheer Lip Color in the shade Bobbi & a Shimmer Lip Gloss in the shade Twilight. This is a great kit if you like purchasing everything you need for a single lip look in one go, although I must admit that since I am not a huge lip gloss fan so I would be equally happy with just the pencil and the lipstick. Of course it’s nice either way to have the option to add some more gloss when the occasion is right. The lip pencil is incredibly pigmented and smooth in application. It’s a little darker than the other two products, so using this all over the lips before applying the lipstick or gloss really makes for a gorgeous intense look. You can view a darker look I did with the Bobbi pencil layered with the Bobbi lipstick that I posted on my blog today here. The longevity is quite impressive and will last you around four to five hours if you’re not eating anything. It won’t survive a meal or snacking session though.
So what do you really need from this collection if you’re a Bobbi fan or a fan of these type of warm colours? I’d say that the eyeshadow palette is definitely a good choice at €60.00 (I haven’t tried it myself but read great reviews), but I would definitely also recommend the Pot Rouge in Telluride as it’s a beautiful blush shade for the Summer time and definitely the reason to venture into brown shades if you haven’t taken the plunge already. The Lip Trios are true steal at this price, so I’d definitely also take a look at the available colour combinations if you’re into well coordinated lip looks.

What do you think? Would you wear these “between pink and brown” shades?
