Guerlain is great at thinking outside the box, and their Bloom of Rose for fall 2015 is yet another example of that. While other brands are busy cooking up rich metallic colors (not that it’s a bad thing!), Guerlain has soft and romantic shades for us instead. Let’s take a quick look at *Beaugrenelle Écrin 6 Couleurs, *Crazy Bouquet KissKiss Roselip, *Orange Fizz KissKiss, *Nahema Smack Gloss d’Enfer, and *Nailift La Base!
Before I get to what’s inside, let’s take a moment to appreciate what’s outside. I have always known the Écrin 6 Couleurs compact is pure luxury, but I didn’t know exactly what that meant till I held this in my hands. Just like a Rouge G, it almost feels like a piece of artwork. KissKiss Roselip has the same design as KissKiss, only it is a pearlescent white with gold accents. So very Guerlain!
Guerlain Beaugrenelle Écrin 6 Couleurs (RRP in Belgium: 84,50 euros) is a blue-grey palette. There are 5 eyeshadows with different finishes as well as a gel liner. My preliminary impression is that the texture seems similar to the Écrin 1 Couleur line that came out earlier this year. I think a little primer will go a long way in this case.

I’m wondering if I can use the liner as a base like what I did here. I’ll let you know!
Guerlain KissKiss Roselip (RRP in Belgium: 38,50 euros) is billed as a “hydrating and plumping colored lip balm infused with essential oil of rose.” There are 6 shades available, and I have Crazy Bouquet (R329) here. The texture melts onto the lips with decent color payoff (considering it is supposed to be a tinted lip balm).

I’d never say no to a coral, so I welcome Guerlain Orange Fizz KissKiss (345. RRP in Belgium: 38,50 euros) with open arms!
Also, I have great news! Guerlain Nahema Smack Gloss d’Enfer is making a comeback (RRP in Belgium: 31,50 euros. Originally limited edition from summer 2014, although the one I have is numbered 940 and the version this time around is 442. The new promo image looks identical, so I’ll have to double-check when the collection rolls out on August 18th)! It is one of the few glosses I can actually be bothered to layer over my lipsticks, so I am happy it is now here to stay!

This combination feels so distinctively summery, although let’s not pretend I don’t wear coral all year round!
Last but not least, there is a limited edition nail-strengthening base coat called Nailift La Base (RRP in Belgium: 25,70 euros). It is supposed to enhance the nail quality with continuous use. Needless to say, I applied it on my weak, peeling nails straight away. I’ll let you know how it works!
Before I forget, I look forward to checking out the new blushes, Rose aux Joues. There are 6 shades in the line-up. Unfortunately, we will only receive Morning Rose (01), Peach Party (03), and Pink Me Up (06) here in Belgium.
Did anything catch your eye here? Are you ready for autumn makeup?
