If you favor smooth, hydrating, and glossy lipsticks, chances are you are already a fan of Dior Addict Lipsticks. Here is the great news: Peter Philips is taking the line to the next level by making it shinier than ever! With Jennifer Lawrence as the spokesperson and 40-something shades (depending on where you are) to choose from, Dior is asking us to #shinedontbeshy! Take a look at the four It Shades, including *Tribale, *Smile, *Wonderful, and *Be Dior.
The packaging of the new Dior Addict Lipstick is very slightly slimmer than that of the previous generation. The smaller logo and lack of silver ring give it a sleeker appearance, but what makes me the happiest is the magnet. Instead of having to pull the bullet out or push it back into the case, all it takes now is your thumb and the slightest pressure. Did I mention a better “click?” It’s the type of details that luxury is made of!
Remember the Tie Dye lipsticks from this summer? Call them a prototype of the new Dior Addict Lipstick. The CD logo is infused with “hydra-gel,” namely oils that both moisturize the lips and make them shine! The two parts of the lipsticks are mixed together upon application. Forget about a lip brush: this is something that works best when you apply straight from the tube. As far as I can tell, the formula is unscented. The new lipsticks are divided into three different finishes, including Glow, Flash, and Glitter. Incidentally, all four It Shades belong to the “glitter” family. Still, as you will see, some are more glittery than others!
Dior Tribale Dior Addict Lipstick (451) is described as a pearlescent coral. It has some glitter and a very glossy finish.

Dior Smile Dior Addict Lipstick (553) is a pinky nude. The finish is the least sparkling out of the four, but it is still glossy:

Sometimes my pigmented lips really annoy me, because Smile looks so much prettier on everyone else!
Dior Wonderful Dior Addict Lipstick (561) is a cool-toned pink with an ample dose of silver glitter. Because of the glitter content, the texture feels ever-so-slightly gritty. I don’t notice the glitter getting outside of my lips that much with the other three shades, but I wasn’t surprised to see it is the case with this one. While it is eye-opening to see just how crazy sparkling and plumping a lipstick can be, I probably won’t get a lot of use out of Wonderful because of the traveling glitter.

In terms of color payoff, all three shades are just pigmented enough to show up on my lips but no more than that. Since they are so glossy, you might want to reapply after a couple of drinks. Do bear in mind that my lips are naturally rather pigmented, so this is to be expected. If yours are less so, they would show up better on you.
Now onto my personal favorite, Dior Be Dior Dior Addict Lipstick (976)!
Be Dior is a raspberry with fuchsia shimmer. I love it because while it is glossy and incredibly smooth, it also packs enough pigment for a pop of color. Be Dior wears better than the other three. Some color lingers even after the glossiness has worn off.

Here is me attempting to channel my inner Jennifer Lawrence but ending up just looking awkward instead:
I have Be Dior Dior Vernis on my nails, which I will show you along with Smile soon!
All in all…
If you want a lipstick formula that is hydrating, easy to apply, easy to wear, and shiny, head over to your local Dior counter for a swatchfest. I have to warn you it won’t be easy, since the shade selection is ginormous! I would personally like to check out the bolder shades in the line-up, as well as finding out how the “Glow” and “Flash” shades turned out.
Completely randomly… I became aware that Addict Extreme is now nowhere to be found on the Dior website as I was doing research about these. Fingers crossed Dior will reformulate soon because in all honesty, that is my lipstick sweet spot. I don’t think I’ll get over it if the line is simply scratched!
Is glossy your thing? Would you look into these?
