If you’ve been here for a while (in that case, I have nothing else to say but THANK YOU), you might remember that I was really not a lipstick girl. I thought I loved my eyeshadows too much to ever want to play my lips up and eyes down, but early autumn worked its magic and BANG, my recent favorites revolve around bold(er) lipsticks!
1: Bold Lipsticks
Guerlain Envie Rouge G L’Extrait, Tom Ford Diabolique Lip Color, Guerlain Gisela Rouge G
I’m cheating a bit with the Tom Ford one here, since it’s not part of the autumn release. I promise I will blog about it around its launch date (the post has actually been written and I’m just waiting for more information to be available before I hit “publish”)! In case you want a sneak peek of its amazing-ness, head over to my Twitter and check out my profile picture (follow me for random fun updates)!
2. Soft Shadow Action
Hourglass Dune Visionaire Duo, Bobbi Brown Rich Caviar palette, Bobbi Brown Sable
When I have a bold lipstick in mind, I want to make my eyes look their best without being “in-your-face.” Here is what I use very often:
I love the lighter shade of Hourglass Visionaire Dune Duo. It’s the perfect for bringing light into the inner half of my lids without an obvious metallic shine. For my inner corners, Bobbi Brown Candlelight (middle of the first row in the Rich Caviar palette that is part of the holiday collection. It will also be blogged about in detail very very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!) does the trick easily. For soft depth and an illusion of “crease,” I use a mixture of Bobbi Brown Wheat (third on the first row) and Sable (still my go-to brow filler as well).
3. Let’s Get… Eyeliner-Happy
Bobbi Brown Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush
Any eye look would lost on me without a decent bit of eyelining action. September saw the retirement of my Maybelline gel liner and Eyeko liquid eyeliner, but I’m not feeling too deprived with Bobbi Brown Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner! The Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush is an old friend. Paired together it’s easy to achieve that winged-out cat eye I’ve been sporting very often!
4. Candles
Diptyque Roses, Baobab Collection Zanaibar Spices
I don’t light candles all year round, but the colder months always awaken the candle lover in me. At the moment I am crazy about Diptyque Roses and Baobab Collection Zanzibar Spices. Diptyque Roses is a scent that will likely please all rose/floral lovers. It is soft, feminine, and calming. Baobab Collection Zanzibar Spices on the other hand, plays with something rich and sensual. The cinnamon and curcuma (turmeric) in there always make me hungry!
5. Richer Scent
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire
You know how with some stuff, it’s love at first sight but with some other, it takes some time? That’s my story with Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire. I wasn’t too sure what to make of it when I sniffed it on a piece of paper, but when I got a piece of cloth with the scent on, I realized things get better about it for me. You will get a full review in no time, but for the moment let me just say it’s something I gladly wear to bed (as well as when I’m awake for sure), and I almost never do that!
How about you? What are your early autumn favorites? Does the season make you grab different things in terms of makeup/skincare?
