Besides bolder lip shades, something else that I unexpectedly fell in love with this year has to be cream eyeshadows. In the past I was skeptical: how can anything stay put on my normal-to-oily monolids? Well, as it turned out, some cream shadows deliver the creaseless promise, like Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner! Today I’m showing you Birthday Suit and Skinny Jeans.
The Creaseless Cream Shadow comes in a glass pot with doves on the cap. Each pot contains 4.5 grams (0.16 oz), which is a bit more generous than comparable product on the market.
I initially received Skinny Jeans from a friend (my blogger girl Teri at BellaChique. She’s down with a flu at the moment, so drop by and show her some love!). Despite the fact that I love the formula and color to bits, I wasn’t going to review it because whatever can be said has already been said since these were launched several years ago. However, when I liked the formula enough to purchase Birthday Suit, I thought they deserve to be mentioned!

Skinny Jeans is a grayed-out shimmery pewter-khaki on me. When I saw the line-up I knew that if I could have ONE shade, Skinny Jeans had to be it. It is amazingly complex, great for smokey looks, and goes well with many shades in my stash.
Birthday Suit is a shimmery beige on me. I know that it might not seem exciting, but if every leading lady needs a good supporting actress, Birthday Suit could be anyone’s supporting actress! You can use it as a light wash on the lids for something very understated and natural, or as a base with other eyeshadows on
top! In the picture above, I have it all over my lids with some soft contouring to bring light to my eyes without stealing the thunder of my lips (Rouge d’Armani #408)!

The formula of these cream shadows is excellent. Even if I really sheer them out, there wouldn’t be any patchiness. On top of that, it is easy to build the color up. Benefit suggests doing thin layers, and leaving 30 seconds between layers.
Tip: There is always a good possibility that your cream shadows crease on you simply because the formula doesn’t work for you, but even a good formula could crease if you slather it on. It’s much easier for them to stay put if the layers are thin!
Even with no primer underneath, Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows hold up throughout the day for me. At the end of the day, the edges would oxidize a little (because my lids do get a bit oily), but there is no unsightly creasing or even disappearing from the inner corners. On top of a primer, these babies are invincible! If I have a long day ahead of me and I want to look presentable, I’d definitely pull these out!

Bottom line: If you like any of the shades Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner offers, I’d encourage you to pick it up. I can recommend the formula from my personal experience, and the general feedback seems positive. Remember to use thin layers to further reduce the chance of creasing, and I hope these will last on you as well as they last on me!
