A while ago when I reviewed Bodhi Eseential Skin Care Set, I promised to test out their new Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil thoroughly and report back. Now that I have spent enough time using it, I am ready to share my experience!
The bottle of Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil that comes with the Essential Skin Care Set is a 5ml mini one. The full-size bottle is 30ml (RRP: 56 GBP), though from what I can see the packaging is pretty much the same. I like the opaque glass bottle. It has always struck me as weird that none of the other dry oils I have tried come in opaque bottles. Most of them claim to contain anti-oxidants, and an opaque bottle like this one would protect the product much more effectively!
There is a guard on the pump, so you don’t have to worry about the oil accidentally getting pumped out in a travel bag. I have actually opened the bottle to see how the tube is. Not only does it go all the way to the bottom, it is shaped in a very special way that I believe will make getting the oil out easy all the way till the end. Kudos to Bodhi for having thought about everything!
Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Oil is slightly yellowish and rather liquid when it is pumped out. It smells like rose as well as a couple other essential oils (bitter orange, sandalwood…). I use one pump for my face, which is the equivalent of 3-4 drops for the dry oils that come with a droplet. The oil is very light, and it is absorbed very easily. It also feels drier in comparison. Before the weather got cold, I could get away with this and no moisturizer on top. Nowadays however, I prefer to layer a moisturizer.
Despite the fact that is is so lightweight, Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Oil does what it promises to do. My skin is velvety soft, hydrated, and radiant with this oil. Fine lines aren’t a concern for me yet so I can’t evaluate the anti-aging benefits it claims to have, but all in all it is amazing for such a fine oil to achieve so much. It functions well enough alone, but it also makes a great serum should you choose to layer a lotion/cream on top.
I would recommend Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil especially to people who have always been tempted to try a dry oil, but who are afraid it’s going to be too much for their skin type. The minimal residue this oil leaves will be less likely to put people off, yet it still does a great job hydrating and nourishing the skin. I am a bit of a dry oil veteran already, but I still really appreciate this one. It will be very pleasant to use alone when the weather is warmer, and as a serum it has kept my skin perked-up in winter!

Bottom line: If you have always wanted to try a dry oil but you are not sure if you would be put off by the “greasy” feeling, give Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Oil a chance. Not only are the ingredients top-notch, the gossamer-thin texture will ease you into the world of dry oil. The minimal residue and great nourishing power are what make this one stand out. Why not look into Bodhi Essential Skin Care Set and try this 5ml bottle just to see how it works?
Have you tried a dry oil? Not yet? Don’t wait! The day you discover a good dry oil, you’ll realize you can never live without it ever again!
