Does a vampy brown with a dash of burgundy say spring to you? Nope? Not to me either, but apparently for Chanel it does! Accessoire Le Vernis (573, RRP in Belgium: 23 euros) is probably the darkest nail polish you are going to see in most spring collections, but it will for sure see you through this awkward “not-quite-spring” kind of weather!
Chanel Accessoire Le Vernis is a dark red-based brown. At first I thought it was a darkened burgundy, but once I put it on my nails I realized it really is more of a brown. At certain angles I see a dash of burgundy, but it is mostly a dark and vampy brown.
Unlike Fracas and Emprise, Accessoire is a straightforward crème with no shimmer (not even the kind that is only visible in bottle). The consistency is again excellent. It is not too thin, not too thick, and it flows beautifully on. It is pretty amazing with one coat, though to get the most out of this vampy shade I would recommend two.
Accessoire wears for 4 days with minimal tip wear on me, which is about the best any nail polish can do! It’s great news particularly for such a dark shade, as chips could be very visible.
One more with my hand next to my face. Is it me or does Accessoire make my hand look fairer?
The only nail polish in my collection that seems similar is Dior Rouge Garçonne Vernis. However, just looking at the bottles side by side tells me there is a lot more burgundy in Rouge Garçonne, so they aren’t even close!
Bottom line: If you don’t already own anything similar, Chanel Accessoire Le Vernis is a good one to consider. Despite the fact that it came out with the spring collection, it is not limited edition and I don’t necessarily think this shade is limited to spring. I personally wouldn’t mind wearing it in autumn or winter at all!
Is Accessoire a must-have in your book? Do you already own something similar? Would you go vampy for spring?
