Hey everyone,
If you celebrate Valentine’s Day, happy Valentine’s Day! If you don’t, *Thursday night is the big party night here for the younger crowd, so either way I hope you’ll have a good time!
*In Belgium, most people go back to their family/childhood friends every weekend. Therefore, they party with their university/work crew on Thursday.
This year, Valentine’s Day is a bit more special at the Mostly Sunny headquarters. A while ago I was invited to check out a spa around Brussels, Thermae Grimbergen, and enjoy a massage there. That’s when it hit me: I should pay for Dr. D’s massage as his Valentine’s Day present! He had never had a massage before, but he seemed to be pretty excited about the idea. That’s how we ended up having the most relaxing Sunday morning there!
I had a 50-minute detox massage, and Dr. D had a 80-minute full-body massage. It actually wasn’t my first time there. I had been there a couple of times with my Belgian sister, though we were there to use the sauna and thermal bath facilities instead of getting a massage. There is a nude part and a swimwear part, so whatever your comfort level is, there is something for you. You can easily spend half a day there with friends. Here comes the great news: if you have a student card, show it on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a 50% discount on the thermal bath entrance fee! Is anyone planning a trip there with their girlfriends already?
The second part of our celebration this year was last night’s dinner (why last night? We thought of booking our favorite restaurant too late, and needless to say it had been fully-booked for Thursday). I thought it’d be fun to show you my look, so here it is!
The idea is to have a clean, simple, and understated look. As much as I enjoy going all out, Dr. D probably is still more comfortable eating at the same table with a girl he can recognize. I used Hourglass Suede (review coming up) and Exhibition for a vertical gradient look that is very soft and blended out, just some haze around the eyes and nothing too “colorful.” I lined my lower lash line with a damp brush and the darker shade of Exhibition. I also highlighted my inner corners with the lighter shade in Hourglass Dune. You guys should see the dent I’ve made in that shade!
I used Le Métier de Beauté Tenné Créme Fresh Tint on my cheeks, Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector (review coming up) to highlight. On my lips I had Guerlain Ballade Rouge Automatique and Le Métier de Beauté Coral Rose Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss.
Kinda romantic, or at least so I think!
Are you doing anything special with anyone special tonight, or is it just another regular Thursday for you?
Sunny, your beauty culture translator xx
