“What’s in my bag” posts are popular for a good reason. I have never attempted to do one because I carry minimal makeup around, and I will more likely bore you than anything else. The amount of stuff I have on my night table however, is a different story. I thought I’d combine a sneak peek at my night table with some short reviews, so sit back and enjoy!
The first thing you spot is probably the Philips Wake-Up Light. I’ve had this for a few months, and I can testify it makes getting up less painful! During the winter months when natural daylight was scarce, it was a life-saver. It works by giving light bit by bit half an hour before the alarm goes off, and a lot of the times I find myself awake before the birds start tweeting (you can pick other sounds such as a running creek, the radio, or combining with your iPhone though that requires a different model)! It’s much more gentle than the sharp noise most alarm clocks make, yet my body is more awake than ever! Highly recommended for people who have problems getting up in the morning!
On the left you see three Caudalie body products, including the Foot Beauty Cream, Vine Body Butter, and Hand and Nail Cream. All three smell gorgeously fresh and typically Caudalie, and all of them have an agreeable texture. I’ve been using them for a bit more than two months now. Since I started in winter, I can say they are moisturizing enough (unless your skin tends to be painfully dry). I have purchased and repurchased the Hand and Nail Cream in the past. It is something I prefer for daytime, as it is absorbed very fast with no residue while leaving a film of protection (if I just rinse my hands with water it doesn’t come off). I haven’t gone as far as to having a different foot cream for daytime, but the Foot Beauty Cream is something I can use right before jumping into my socks without this awkward greasy feeling. At the same time, it has definitely kept my feet soft! Sandal season is coming and it will be the ultimate test. I can’t wait to see if it can measure up!
You have read about the Escents Aromatherapy Roll-On here, and the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Honey Lip Balm here. I am halfway through my second pot of Nuxe lip balm, and I’m pretty sure I will repurchase when it’s gone!
A while ago I found out Aesop launched the new Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm. I owned and loved their Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm (I have no idea why I never reviewed it, but it’s long gone now), so when a supposingly more potent version with lactic acid came out, I needed to give it a try!
I have to start by saying the smell is probably not for everyone. It contains bergamot rind and petitgrain (an essential oil extracted from the leaves and green twigs of the bitter orange plant), but it smells most strongly of vetiver root. It is incredibly earthy and instantly addictive for me, though I have to acknowledge it isn’t a crowd pleaser. You might want to at least sample the scent before taking it home!
You can see how big the tube is and the ingredient list here:
Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm is a wonderful hand cream because it’s something light enough for daytime. However, if I slather more on, it works well throughout the night. My nails instantly feel stronger with this cream, and this is not something every hand cream does. Most of the time I can tell if I prefer a certain hand cream for daytime or bedtime, but Reverence can definitely be both! Out of the two Aesop hand creams, Reverence is my favorite. It is more moisturizing, and OK, let me just admit the scent had me at hello!
Next to Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm you can see Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Balm. I have reviewed this before here. If lipsticks tend to dry your lips out, I would strongly encourage you to give this one a go. I can use a thin layer or two when I’m doing the rest of my face. By the time I’m done most of the cream has already been absorbed my my lips (with hardly any residue), and they will be prepared for some color!
What’s on your night table? What are some of the body care products you’ve been using?
