Chanel Envolée Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer Is a Supporting Actress That Sparkles!

Chanel Envolée Lèvres Scintillantes

You know how it works: a makeup collection won’t come together with some pieces that attract less attention, but help the other pieces stand out. In that sense, Chanel Envolée Lèvres Scintillantes is the perfect supporting actress. What with all the sparkle and color on our lids, it is easier to keep the lips a little more toned-down with something that offers a hint of color and some sparkle. Envolée fits the bill!

In the tube, Chanel Envolée Lèvres Scintillantes looks like a coral with golden sparkle. As you will see later, it is more peachy in the swatch.

Here is my best attempt to show you all the pretty shimmer, though in reality it always looks more stunning!

Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes is an unscented, non-sticky, and comfortable-to-wear formula. Since Envolée doesn’t pack too much pigment, it is mostly the shine and sparkle that you will see on the lips. It applies smoothly, and since it is not a milky color, it doesn’t sink into lip lines!

Here is how Envolée swatches. Left: one pass. Right: built up.

You have seen Envolée on me several times.

Here is Envolée on its own:

Here is Envolée layered over Chanel La Favorite Rouge Allure Velvet:

When worn alone, Envolée adds just a hint of color, and a lot of shine and sparkle to my lips. I love how it layers over many lipsticks, as the glossy sheen is incredible!

Bottom line: I wouldn’t say Chanel Envolée Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer is a must-have for anyone. However, if you like the formula, and you’re on the market for a sheer, sparkling peachy coral gloss, it could be the one for you!

What do you say? Right up your alley or do you fancy more pigment?

I honestly prefer more pigment but it looks really nice when layered over a lipstick! I guess it adds some warmth and some really pretty shimmer too ^^.

    • Sunny

Yeah that’s how I personally prefer to use it too!

  • Tracy@Beauty Reflections

It’s pretty! But I like more pigment too. But I guess this is a good one if you are afraid of orange haha!

    • Sunny

Yeah. That or you own many lipsticks that would layer well with it (which is my case)!

  • BeautyLoves

I like it! I don’t mind more pigment, it just depends on my mood and makeup which one I’ll choose.

    • Sunny

Hey Stamatia, good to know! It’s weird but even when I want something really toned-down, I prefer to pick a shade that is pigmented but not far from my natural lip color. It’s just personal preference I guess!

  • beauties

I would’ve loved this one with a little more pigment

    • Sunny

      Yeah I understand!

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

So pretty! I do wish it were a touch more pigmented though but still gorgeous. However, your nails are what really stole the show for me! I am transfixed by that shade! Usually I can resist high-end polishes but I am finding it especially hard to resist this one…

    • Sunny

Haha yeah the nail polishes are definitely the showstoppers in this collection! I think that might be part of the reason why Chanel made most lippies sheer!

  • Icaria

Pretty, I love the color in the tube but I already have several options that give me the same effect on my lips. Like everyone else has stated so far, a little more pigment would have made it more interesting, especially when you look at the tube.

    • Sunny

Hey Helene, I think that might be the case with most people. If it were more pigmented it’d definitely be more interesting!

  • ChicScience

Orange! Lovely ( yep I have a thing for orange these days + it will be the thing this summer/fall: Trend alert!) I love the color but it might be too sheer for me now.:)

    • Sunny

Good to know 😉 I most certainly own some oranges in my stash, including the corals that pull really orange on me 😉

  • Catherine (@bcrueltyfree)

Ummm I saw the photo of the gloss against the black background in feedly and immediately was like WHAT IS THAT. SO SO SO pretty. Oranges, golds… I can’t resist shades like this. Though the way it applies is far less exciting than how it looks in the tube.

    • Sunny

Haha yeah all three glosses in the collection seem pretty sheer. I think Chanel did it for a reason though, most probably because the Stylo Eyeshadows are sparkling showstoppers!

  • Liz

I feel like Chanel gives us an orange gloss every summer, so as pretty as it is, I don’t feel sad about missing out. Pretty sure there’ll be another next year! :)

    • Sunny

Haha yeah I think last year’s version is slightly more pigmented, but you might be right 😉

  • Paige

I wish it was more pigmented :(

    • Sunny

Aww yeah I know what you mean, Paige! Check out the new glosses in their line-up? Those seem way more pigmented!

  • Krystle(Baking Beauty)

Really pretty swatch, but for that price I’d like more pigmentation on the lips!

    • Sunny

Thanks, Krystle! I totally see where you’re coming from too. Have you seen the new glosses in their line-up? I saw them today (didn’t swatch any because I was fixating on Taboo Le Vernis). They seem nicely pigmented and sparkling!

  • JoanneP

Lovely shade but I prefer more pigment for the price. It’s more versatile to dress up my lips! Such a lovely look you do!

    • Sunny

Hey Joanne, I agree with you, but I also know people who prefer sheer lip products so it’s really just personal preferences! Thanks for being so sweet 😉

  • VickyM

Pretty gloss, it swatches very nice but on the lips it really just looks clear with some shimmer, it reminds me of the only jordana gloss I own called honey that I bought for a school project. I didn´t want to damage any of my nice makeup so I purchased that, anyway it looks like yellow on the tube but it looks clear on the lips, so it reminds me of this, bright on the tube but swatches clear, except that the jordana doesn´t have any shimmer. I really love Chanel glosses and I agree that since the eye makeup was vibrant the glosses could be sheer, but at least one should have been more opaque in my opinion, just to offer a different option for the people that don´t like or want the eye makeup and wanted an opaque gloss.
But I do think this collection is gorgeous in general anyway 😛 .

    • Sunny

Hey Vicky, yup that’s how it looks on my lips! My lips are pretty pigmented though. If yours are paler it might do more for you! Did you see their new glosses? They became available here in Belgium today. I didn’t swatch any (sorry but I was very focused on Taboo Le Vernis), but they do look nice, sparkling, and pigmented in the tubes!

      • VickyM

I have seen the new glosses swatched on the internet 😀 I´m loving Rose Sauvage and Daydream! However I don´t think we have them here yet since I just went to the counter two days ago and they had just gotten the new Rouge Coco and Coco shines along with the Papillon collection, no sign yet of the new glosses and Taboo Vernis. I do have paler lips but even then I don´t think Envolee would do alot for me. I´m hoping to see Taboo soon even though I´m not a big high end nail polish buyer since I only paint my toes. I only have two high end nail polishes Chanel Peridot and Mac Soiree, still interested on Taboo anyway :) .

  • peggy timmermans visagie

Very curious how it will look on someone with less colours on teh lips…me ! :)

    • Sunny

Haha you should try, but still I don’t think it’ll add TOO much color!
