How many products do you use on your lashes? Would you think it’s crazy that I use three? I test different mascaras often enough, but I repurchased my absolute favorites during the sales a while ago. Meet Dior Diorshow Maximizer, Iconic Overcurl, and New Look. They make such a great team for my lashes that I have dubbed them my Three Dior Mascateers. I have reviewed them separately in the past, but I thought I’d show you how I use them together with better pictures, so here we go!
I discovered the power of a good lash primer with Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum quite a while ago, and I have never looked back or away!
Diorshow Maximizer promises to lengthen, volumize, and care for lashes. I can’t evaluate the care aspect, but it does everything else exceedingly well! It also helps hold curl. If you have straight lashes or live in a humid environment, give it a try!
Here you see my bare, curled lashes (kinda hard to spot them, I know):
Here you see my lashes after Diorshow Maximizer:
It dries clear, and the only tip I have is not to get greedy with this. If you smear it on, it will clump like everything else. One careful coat is enough!
I have tried many good mascaras that I like, but Diorshow Iconic Overcurl remains my personal favorite. I wouldn’t say it is the most lengthening mascara I have tried, but get this: it is the best at separating my lashes and boosting the curl, so I end up with fluttery lashes and that wide-eye look!
Another thing I really really like about Diorshow Iconic Overcurl is the fact that it never smudges, but it is very easy to remove at the end of the day. I often use a bi-phase makeup remover even for non-waterproof mascaras, as I don’t have the patience for a micellar water to dissolve them. With Diorshow Iconic Overcurl however, a micellar water can get the job done fast enough! This might seem insignificant, but it is such a relief after a long day!
Essentially, the wand of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl is like a push-up bra for the lashes. I don’t know if it’s my eye shape or the fact that my lashes aren’t too long, but reaching the lashes around the outer corners is always tricky. This is unfortunate, as theoretically the lashes on your outer corners should stand out the most. With Diorshow Iconic Overcurl, this has not only become possible, but practically a piece of cake for me!
Here are my lashes after one coat of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl:
See how the wand reaches the lashes on my outer corners and push them up effortlessly?
Here are my lashes with two coats of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl:
Soft, fluttery, well-separated, and well-curled!
Now, you might be wondering why I still need Diorshow New Look for. Diorshow New Look gives a very clean and natural look on my upper lashes, but my favorite way to use it is on my bottom lashes. There are not many mascara wands that I can navigate easily on my bottom lashes. As a matter of fact, however careful I am, most of the time I end up with a mascara blob or two on the skin.
Not with this one! The teeny tiny wand of Diorshow New Look makes dressing my bottom lashes up easy breezy!
All I have to do is go through my bottom lashes with the tiny wand and holding it for a second longer when I reach the end.
Now my lashes are finally done!
All for one and one for all!
Just to be very honest, I probably can’t afford to keep repurchasing all three of them every three months or so (that and I need to test new mascaras from time to time). My number 1 priority is Diorshow Maximizer, as every mascara just looks so much better on top of it!
Have you tried any of these? Do you have a holy grail mascara or a holy grail mascara combo?
